I'm sure you've had this problem before, so I'll be brief. 


I accidentally posted an extra forum. Could one of you good admins please delete it on my behalf?

OK, so I didn't actually hide it because I'm having a mind blank and can't tell if I've forgotten I can't hide forums, or if I've just forgotten how to hide them.  So what I did was change the permissions so that no one's able to see it or interact with it.  Same effect, different way of undoing later.
