GreenEyedStranger
Servant of the Great Old One
Post here first before roleplaying. A like by me means your character has been approved and is ready to roleplay!
Char Sheet:
Name:
Age:
Race/Species: (Human? Construct? Gorgon? Werewolf? Sphinx? Lots of flexibility here. If you want a guidelines, look up races for Magic: The Gathering)
Appearance: (Pic or description, not too important)
Personality: (Note that personality should reflect on the chosen color type. Shouldn't be an exact representation of what I mentioned in the colors section, but general themes should be present.)
Mana Color: (May be a mixture of more than one, up to all five.)
Powers: (Powers should be in the realm of chosen colors. For example, a planeswalker who only bends black magic should not be able to manipulate lightning or fire)
Backstory:
(Not mentioned before, but to become a planeswalker, usually someone has to go through an extremely traumatic event, either emotionally, physically, or spiritually.)
Land of Origin:
(Locations will be included in the rp page)
Mana Colors:
Every planeswalker has one or more mana colors. These colors represent the general type of magic they control. Note that inside each sphere of magic there are multiple subsets. For example, blue could represent control over water, or mind magic, or more. There is a lot of flexibility here, so fill in something into the powers section relating to your color, and I will approve if reasonable.
Blue: Represents control, intellect, and flow. Those who take blue mana are frequently described as genius' or prodigies. Preferring to use intellect and mind games to win their battles, those of the blue are a cunning lot.
Red: Represents fire, anarchy, chaos, and rebellion. The perfect choice for any freedom fighter. Those of the red usually are impatient, yet passionate about most things in life. Winning battles with a lightning bolt or fire ball to the face is their preferred option.
Green: Planeswalkers who manipulate green magic are an interesting lot. Most have a fierce love for the wilds, and view nature as a stalwart companion. Preferring to be patient with their time and slowly draw power from nature until they become unstoppable is their type of style. With the onset of Nicol Bolas, most of the multiverses forests and jungles have been starved, making those who use green magic respected and revered.
White: Frequently associated with light and righteousness, Planeswalkers who manipulate White magic usually uphold the values of justice. Once devoted to the now extinct gods and angels, White Planeswalkers were known to protect the innocent across the ages. Preferring to shield and protect allies while calling upon holy powers to smite their enemies is iconic for white magic planeswalkers. Although Nicol Bolas exterminated all the gods and their angels, their memory and legacy is enough to power the vengeful white planeswalkers.
Black: Viewed through the ages as the most vile and twisted of the colors, Black doesn't usually deviate from those two words. Associated with demons, undead, and other horrific beasts, Black Planeswalkers are to be feared. Although there are quite a few exceptions, most are undeniably evil, corrupted by the magic they hold. Nicol Bolas and his servants have a natural affinity for black magic. However, there are countless individuals who harness Black Magic that were betrayed by Nicol Bolas' lies, and now desire vengeance. Decimating and humiliating the enemy, usually at the cost of self harm, is a Black Planeswalkers preferred choice of combat
Colorless: An extremely myserious lot, Colorless Planeswalkers come from all walks of life. Some, master artificiers, others may be constructs and golems given sentience. However, the most notable exception are the few who still worship the Eldrazi, horrific creatures from a universe devoid of color. Although Nicol Bolas has destroyed the gods, Emrakul remains trapped in the moon, and the other Eldrazi are dormant in the stars... Nevertheless, all Colorless Planeswalkers have a variety of combat styles, with no specific stereotype.
Lands of origin:
As a Planeswalker, you will be able to travel through these lands. However, everyone has a birthplace. If you want the full backstory/lore of these lands, go to the Magic The Gathering lore pages for more. You may use Planes not mentioned in this section, as long as it is in MTG lore. I won't mention all of them just for convenience here.
Kaladesh:
Once a vibrant city full of innovation and wonder. It would be hard to walk through the streets and not see some fabulous clockwork mechanism someone just made from their home. Although it had it's share of evil, many people called it home, which may have been a reason for the resistance setting up it's headquarters here. However, Nicol Bolas directed most of his anger to the rebellions here, leaving Kaladesh a wasteland of twisted metal and horrific bio-mechanical creatures. What little resistance is left hides underground. The story starts here.
Amonkhet:
One of the first places to fall to Nicol Bolas' wrath. A brilliant beautiful city located in the oasis of a vast, near infinite desert filled with horrible monsters, with the only thing seperating the two being an enormous magically enchanted wall. However, evil had lurked in there even before Nicol Bolas' return. Fierce loyalty to the gods and the afterlife of the realm led to strange practices, which in the end were only lies to serve Nicol Bolas' will. Now that the wall was destroyed, the city was overwhelmed by demons and undead of the desert. Nothing remains but sand and blood.
Innistrad:
A strange, dark place that once was the location of a massive invasion of Eldrazi. It's inhabitants are seclusive and mysterious, with each person hiding their own secrets. Although Nicol Bolas' has not destroyed the realm entirely, he has it heavily quarantined and guarded by his hordes of creatures, who keep the townspeople silent and easily broken.
Ixalan:
A vast sprawling island home to ferocious dinosaurs, fierce tribes, and mysterious merfolk. Largely untouched by Nicol Bolas' fury, yet only because of the lack of anything significant. Although he intends to destroy it soon, it is not a priority for him.
Ravnica:
The city of guilds. An enormous city, filled with slums. Though once home to a variety of guilds from all walks of life, Nicol Bolas' corruption and the Guildpacts disappearance have led to crumbling of the society. Now, Nicol Bolas' personal guild rules over the city with an iron grip, suppressing all those who dare oppose them.
(If you wish to use a Land I didn't mention, make note of how it was affected by Nicol Bolas' corruption.)
