The Going Merry

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c43528461_GoingMerry.gif.d81e976056fa65149ef25709ab4ef01c.gif" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="71167" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c43528461_GoingMerry.gif.d81e976056fa65149ef25709ab4ef01c.gif" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

The Going Merry has a jib and a central steer rudder. The ship's armaments consists of four cannons, one in the bow pointing forward, one in the stern, and two pointing to either side. They are rarely used, as the Sunny-Go Pirates usually prefer to run away or engage in hand to hand combat. The Going Merry has three white-rose bushes that can be found on the upper deck.

Meeting Room, Lounge, and Helm

Meeting Room, Lounge, and Helm
<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c43535dcf_MeetingRoomLoungeKitchen.png.0fc642b4d8a3eba621fee9ecb9291424.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="71171" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c43535dcf_MeetingRoomLoungeKitchen.png.0fc642b4d8a3eba621fee9ecb9291424.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

This is the single most important room in the entire ship. It serves as the meeting room, lounge, and helm for the entire crew. Here the crew can do a number of things. Since the kitchen is located here, they can enjoy a meal here made by Rikka. And because of its comfortable atmosphere, it is the perfect place where the crew can also hold meetings here and discuss what to do next.

The device for steering the ship is also located here. However, unlike regular ships that commonly have a steering wheel, the Going Merry does not have one. Instead it uses a "steering pole" with a sheep's head like the one used for the ship's figurehead. By tilting the pole left or right, the rudder at the stern will move in that direction.

Men's Room and Women's room

Men's Room
<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c43538bc8_MerryMensRoom.png.65c7ae87dea3bf7109c0c1c98a621354.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="71172" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c43538bc8_MerryMensRoom.png.65c7ae87dea3bf7109c0c1c98a621354.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>
Women's Room
<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c4353c1e3_MerryWomensRoom.jpg.34c0ab7e5e215e839c521b85c7bc9f5e.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="71173" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c4353c1e3_MerryWomensRoom.jpg.34c0ab7e5e215e839c521b85c7bc9f5e.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

The men's room of the Going Merry is located below the deck of the ship right below the mast. It is quite large and untidy. This room is normally crowded due to the fact it is shared by all of the men to sleep. It is accessed through a hatch next to the mast. There are a total of five hammocks located here to sleep on. There is an emergency exit that connects to the women's room in case something should happen.

The women's room of the Going Merry is located below deck under the storage and cannon deck. This is where at least three women can usually sleep. It was originally designed by someone for Asuka's use and thus its design reflects for whom it was originally meant. (Only the first five crew members know Kaya and Merry.) The room is accessed through a hatch that leads to the room above. This hatch has a lock for obvious reasons. There is an emergency exit that connects to the men's room located here in case something happens. This hatch, however, is not normally used and is usually locked.

Storage Room and Cannon Deck(aft)

A storage room and a cannon deck are located under the lounge of the Going Merry. This is where the crew keeps all their cargo such as beer barrels, water barrels, rations, and treasure boxes in storage. Any treasure that Sarah cannot keep in the women's quarters is kept here as well. The room also houses two cannons facing each side of the ship.

The bathroom and the women's quarters can be accessed from here. Some towels can be found next to the bathroom's entrance for when one finishes taking a bath. The hatch going down to the women's quarters has a latch to keep out prying eyes.

The steering shaft that is used to steer the ship can also be seen located above this room.

Cannon Deck(fore) and Anchor Room

A cannon deck can be found below the front deck of the Going Merry. This also serves mainly as the room where the anchor is stored. Various weapons such as swords can be stored here. Giant oars and life preservers can also be found here and can be used when called for.

Bathroom

The bathroom of the Going Merry is located below deck next to where the rudder of the ship is located. It is accessed through a door leading to the storage room. This same door has curtains for privacy. A shower, a bathtub, a sink, and a toilet can be found here. The water used here is drawn up by a special machine located underneath the stairs on the top deck. There used to be two of these machines but Suzumaki broke one. (Only the first five crew members know of this)

Care must be taken here after taking showers and such here. After cleaning themselves, the crew must make sure to thoroughly clean the place up with a rubber wiper found here in order to prevent the ship from being weakened by moisture.

Suzumaki's Favorite Seat

The figurehead of the Going Merry is a sheep. This is where Suzumaki likes to sit most of the time while sailing. Why she likes to sit there with her inability to swim is a complete mystery. The figurehead is also found on top of the ship's "steering pole" in the main room.

Reverse Mountain

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c3bfb3e63_ReverseMountain.jpg.1cd41c94e5b2ac88061761968d7eb20d.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="66431" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/57a8c3bfb3e63_ReverseMountain.jpg.1cd41c94e5b2ac88061761968d7eb20d.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Reverse Mountain is a mountain at one of the points where the four Blues meet and is one of the two known entrances to the Grand Line.

This place is unique in that rivers from the Blues flow up the mountain, meet at the top, and then flow down into the Grand Line. This is due to the fact that the mountain, being a "Winter Island" using Grand Line terminology, is much colder than the surrounding sea in the Blues but not in the Grand Line. Many pirates entering the Grand Line die before they can even get up to the top of the mountain, because the hostile water currents and storms force them to crash into the mountain walls. On the rivers' borders are several gates built by an unknown hand.

Twin-Capes Lighthouse

Twin Cape is located at the bottom of Reverse Mountain, at the exit that leads into the Grand Line. The area is located precisely where the Red Line and the Grand Line meet. From here, sailors can choose one of the seven routes of the Grand Line by waiting for the Log Pose to set on the desired one. The lighthouses are located at the exit of Reverse Mountain, and are where the Reverse Mountain Arc took place.Crocus has been the caretaker of the northern lighthouse for at least 52 years, taking care of Laboon as well, minus the three years he spent as the doctor of the Roger Pirates.

Whiskey Peak is the only city located on Cactus Island.

This city is inhabited entirely by bounty hunters working for Baroque Works, who capture any bounty heads that land here to help fund the missions of their organization. As such, the city does not have much supplies, as noted by Miss Monday. The citizens here fool pirates into thinking that they are kind and hospitable and proceed to throw a party for them, only to turn them in and steal everything from their ship when the pirates pass out. Whiskey Peak is apparently famous for its liquor, but whether that is the truth or an excuse to have many barrels of alcoholic beverages to better subdue pirates without suspicion is unknown.
