Elm's heart was racing, practically caught in her throat. She would never admit it, though, not to these sons-of-bitches. They took her from the Pharaoh while the others were at the port of St. Thomas, sailing away with great speed. Elm guessed the kidnapping was pre-planned. She didn't know how long it would take for Captain Thames to know she was gone, or where she had gone off too. She hoped with all of her might that he would figure it out. At least her captain was a smart man.
She decided that she needed to focus on the problem at hand. She was in what she guessed to be Captain Clemens's quarters. She could feel the bruises and cuts on her body throb from the fight she put up with her captors, but at a least a dozen men to one were odds that weren't in her favor. She was now bound to a chair in the room, three crew members watching her intently. Three seemed like a bit of overkill, but Elm guessed that Clemens didn't want to take any chances. That meant he had at least some knowledge of her skill and ability. She had never met the man before, but she figured that she would be meeting him, as well as the rest of the crew, soon enough. Then, she could work out her escape.
