โ INTRODUCTION โ
hi, welcome to my 1x1 interest check! i'm chamomile, you can call me cham or chammy and i'm currently wrapping up finals. since group roleplay pickings have been pretty slim, i'm looking for a couple of mellow partners while i prep for college.
so a little more about me: i turned 18 in march. i've been roleplaying on and off for 4 years but i've never gotten far doing one-on-one's before, so hopefully third time's the charm ! sometimes i write poetry, most times i spend on tumblr. sometimes i draw, but my art thread has been dead for a while and i think it's going to stay that way until i find the time again.
anyways, i'll be keeping this thread relatively tidy. feel free to shoot me a message if you're interested in any of these ideas !

โง i'll post at least once a week and my posts are usually multi-para. i won't say i go as far as novella length, and i don't really want to be bogged down by wordcounts.
โง i don't have a strong gender preference and i'm down for any gender pairing, enby inclusive of course. i usually use realistic faceclaims but i'm not opposed to moodboards or anime/drawn ones depending on the setting.
โง eventual romance is preferred. but if you'd rather play platonic relationships, i'm sure we can something out ! note that i don't double to play each other's love interest though i'd love to play multiple mains where it fits.
โง i only rp in threads and i like to prettify them with code. ooc-wise, i'm fine with keeping on-site or moving it to discord once we've established some ideas.

โง be proficient in english. which means writing in third person, no one liners. but spelling and grammar mistakes happen. you don't have to be perfect, i'm not perfect either.
โง be patient with replies. let's not pressure each other, we all have real life to deal with. once a week is good enough and any longer is fine by me, as long as we're on the same page.
โง clear communication. i don't want to be the only one throwing ideas and planning arcs. contribute to the plot, talk to me about our characters and the setting!
โง please introduce yourself proper in your pm. tell me why you think we're compatible, which plot you're interested etc. it's great if you're chatty (because otherwise i read people as initimidating), i wanna preface that i have some mild social anxiety so please bear with me!
WHAT I WON'T DO
genre-wise, i'm not very into horror, with gore or excessive violence. absolute dealbreakers include: smut, top/bottom centric pairings, furries, a/b/o, and power imbalances.

i'm not strictly limited to the genres here, but i didn't want to list any plot i was only mildly interested in. rest assured, you don't need to convince me to do any particular plot. these may sound a little vague but i had too many ideas and i wanted to keep things concise. currently i'm only looking for the plots without the inline-spoiler, so diadem and limitless.
bold is the role i prefer playing. if neither are bolded, then i don't mind. even so, it doesn't hurt to ask.

โ GAUNTLET ; heir x noble ; f//.
tags: light political intrigue, sucession crisis, soft magic, "rightful" ruler returns.
the king is on his deathbed and has yet to choose a suitable successor. with his queen long passed and no children in sight, the noble houses are clamouring by the castle to await a change in the line of sucession, settled without argument or strife. muse A is daughter to one of the smaller noble families, more fit to be a knight than a ruler, but she doesn't let that deter her ambitions. there have been rumours of a bastard child, one muse A has been tracking down for weeks. raised by her single mother all her life, muse B was a humble artisan when muse A comes knocking. after learning about her parentage, muse B has to learn the rules of the court from muse A herself, who is determined to install her onto the throne.
variations: muse B is a child of a distant relative who was a little bit evil and the court is worried she will take after her parent; muse B is a legitimate child, but doesn't want the throne for whatever reason or; muse B has been intentionally hidden away, with muse A appointed as a new bodyguard privy to this knowledge.

a storm is brewing. muse A, the older of two princes, relinquished his throne to take his brother's place in an arranged marriage as part of a newfound alliance against the growing threat of radical revolutionaries. prince of the neighbouring kingdom, muse B, is actually looking forward to the arrangement since he's been lonely at the castle and finds prince A's earnest and dutiful approach admirable, if not worthy of falling in love for.
as the two keep up appearances after their public marriage, conflict escalates at their borders and they each have to make good on their promises to serve as the instrument of cooperation between their kingdoms, with muse A charming the people and strengthening alliances while muse B strategises and takes part in the fight on the ground.
note: im also interested in setting this plot in like, a low-fantasy 1920s? where muse A is from a family with status but their estate have fallen by the wayside while muse B is from a self-made family who isn't respected as much in the upper echelons of society. they weren't supposed to meet until much later, but muse B finds himself in the city and decided he should know who he's getting married to. they later find out their parents aren't entirely good people and have to sort out their names being on a kill list contracted by their parents' enemies.

some people aren't born with magic, some had to teach themselves with elusive tomes and abandoned grimoires. still they'll never able to escape the power difference with hereditary witches no matter how hard they try. so muse A summons the demon muse B, her apartment floor covered in sigils smeared with a thick ink, asking to tap into his ancient knowledge and grow in power. the demon acquiesced but unexpectedly, he became much more than a stepping stone, morphing into a company she needed, so much so that muse A almost forgot that he's not really the human form he takes, and it's her soul that she's paying with.
after two years of going strong, her end is still nowhere near in sight. news of their contract had spread and a few unwelcomed guests show up on their doorstep: a demon hunter here to annihilate muse B and a rival witch who wants to summon muse B away for herself.

a hardened professional with a grisly past, a half-possessed medium pulling a faustian rebellion, caught in the mercy of circumstance. these two had a rough start, but they're partners now, more or less. between investigating murders and hunting down demons with swords and guns, muse A and muse B are running away from the things that haunt them, but the city rarely gives them any permanence.
okay so this has a plot, but it's more like monster of the week in between development for either one of our muses. the focus is definitely on their bond and working relationship. we can base them off of any one of the picture prompts if you'd like but i wrote this out with the first one in mind.

water is a solvent, water has memory. muse A has lived all their life in an idyllic fishing island, well-aware of the magical properties of its waters and content with her work as the assistant lightkeeper. muse B is a newcomer to the island, an artist escaping the clutches of the city and an indeterminate emotional toll. they stay in the lodge closest to the sea, now sharing a home with muse A who may be more than willing to divulge the island's secrets. all the while, outside parties are pressuring the locals to turn to tourism as a solution to their dwindling population.

it's been two months since a solar mass ejection brought down the world's electrical infastructure and sent auroras beyond the poles, releasing with it a horde of liminal monsters watching from the dark. the town of dismal, with a small population of witches, had known about this "magic" and is now recovering from the blackout as the government goes silent.
by day, they're stuck in an endless summer. by night, a fog rolls onto the outskirts of their streets. muse A and muse B are newly appointed watchers. unlike the rest of the townspeople, they're equipped to handle encounters with things that go bump in the night, acting as patrols, guards and scouts. a reality anomaly however has caught them in an orbit, luring with the truth just out of reach. what exactly had set these monsters free?

muse A, a college student wakes up to find that he went back in time by two decades, or so it seems. now he's living out an alternate universe in the 90s and his only hope of returning home is muse B, a physics major with the face of someone he once met at a party back in his universe, the exact night before. unexpectedly, muse A would see muse B again and again in all his different iterations, in every universe they were meant to meet.
this plot will mostly start out as a slice-of-life (with fish-out-of-water muse A and i've-never-seen-this-weirdo muse B) until the characters figure out what's going on. but eventually it gets to the point where muse A has to save the multiverse from collapsing because he seems to be the only one responding to the reality break then brings muse B along. truly A+ plot escalation. actual physics is handwaved, but that won't stop me from actually trying to research for a plausible explanation.

pairing: ranger x ranger, more or less. they're expected to pilot. m//.
tags: sparring as intimacy, mild angst, soulmates are made, how many ways can i get two people into a robot.
i haven't seen this (singular) movie in two years and i'm still absolutely obsessed with the implications and all that soulmate fodder. these ideas are AUs of course so i'm willing to throw in other elements to spice things up.
(1) after muse A lost his copilot to a kaiju attack in shanghai a year ago, both he and obsidian angel are shipped off for repairs at the sydney shatterdome while recovering from their grief. when star j-tech engineer muse B is tasked to put that jaeger back together, he didn't expect to do the same to muse A. muse B was later assigned as her pilot and muse A wants repentance. includes ghost drifting, like a literal ghost in the machine left lingering. (2) after seeing the deaths of his heroes firsthand, muse A decides he's not willing to die for this cause and quits the ranger program for j-tech. muse B feels betrayed that he lost his one chance at a drift partner. when a new jaeger is set to arrive at the shatterdome, muse B wants to be in the cockpit while muse A tries to save him from himself. 'you're a coward' vs. 'what are you trying to prove?' ex-friends who are still drift compatible dynamics. bonus: muse C as another engineer in j-tech. muse D as the star pilot looking for a partner. (3) muse A was the best of the best, a promising cadet who unexpectedly wasn't drift compatible with his brother and had to watch him find a partner, get in a jaeger and be assigned to the other side of the pacific. muse B was known as the miracle boy who managed drift compatibilty with three separate people, now undeployed. the shatterdome wants muse A to pilot their newest jaeger. problem is, muse B is not sure if he wants to ever step foot in the cockpit again.
