"Growf!"
Loosely based on the 1996 film by this name, but with an original storyline and characters.
Our male protagonist, Duncan (to be roleplayed by myself), lives near Roswell, NM. He is 21 years old and lives on a ranch as a hermit (as much as he can be one). He walks with a limp and has a bad left hand. There are a number of rumors as to how he got like that. He is simple-minded, constantly complaining about “losing words” when unable to recall words to express himself. He has no job, apparently living on some small trust fund or something, keeping a garden, a few chickens, and such.
He has become a fixture in the community (population a bit over 46,000). He moved to Roswell in 2016. Roswell is an unsafe place to live and there are many drug problems here. There is also a lack of employment opportunities, especially high paying jobs. There also isn't much to do here and the schools provide a subpar education. With a crime rate of 46 per one thousand residents, Roswell has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 22.
In 2018 he was at a local C-store when a couple armed robbers entered the place. They made one mistake. They backhanded an old woman there with her granddaughter. In that instant a flash of anger crossed Duncan’s face. He had been standing near the bagged ice. He grabbed two bags and threw them hard at the men.

Summer of 2022
Residents of Roswell called in to report sightings of strange lights in the sky on Monday, July 4th, 2022. (C’mon .. the 4th?) But reportedly they were strange enough to make the news. One story stands out from the rest about a single man living alone - Duncan - who lived in an area about where many believe the lights touched down. He was found unconscious in his home - causes unknown. The prevailing rumor was that he was the victim of an alien abduction. (Well, you asked!)
I am thinking that at the start of the RP it will have been a little bit since the 4th and things may have calmed down.
Your Character
I need someone to roleplay the female protagonist (or antagonist or both). You may be a local, maybe someone sweet on Duncan since he arrived. You could be a fledgling reporter given the crappy job of interviewing a bunch of UFO nuts. You could be a UFO nut yourself. Your character should at least be in the same age range as Duncan. Age 22 would be enough for college and starting a first job if you want to go the reporter route. (Don’t expect him to cooperate.)
