Hoyo all!
GojiBean here!
I'm mostly an orchestral composer though I have been delving into the realm of electronic music as of late and am having quite a blast exploring its possibilities and its utility to be used alongside the orchestra. I'm always looking for a reason/excuse to work on more music, so I'd like to open up to commissions from anyone interested in having a personal musical theme created for their original RP concepts or characters!
My pricing model is fair and won't break your bank regardless of whether or not you have a stable source of income with which to provide payment. However, for the sake of transparency I will give this disclaimer that the length and complexity of the piece will affect the pricing. Full details of exact prices will be provided upon request in a PM if you decide to reach out to me to request my services.
Sample Works
To give some examples of my work (though most are between 3-5 years old and I've improved a lot since originally composing them) I'd like to share two playlists for you to check out which showcase some pieces I've done for other role-players in the past, as well as for my own benefit as an aspiring author!
(anything in blue is a clickable link)
1) The Red-Eyed Demon (this is my own original character and his personal theme which is described in more detail on this thread: Music - OC Music Theme)
2) RP/Character Themes (this is a playlist I put together of themes I've made for other people in the past who requested them for RP's or original characters)
3) Divinity Unbound Playlist (this playlist was created as a full Original Sound Track (OST) for a story I'm writing in real life, but it works on the same principle of an original idea sparking music creativity and breathing new life into the idea)
A couple of other pieces I'd like to highlight some of my work include the following: Promises in Anger, Halo (fanmade version), Kyuukyoku, Mothra, Infant Island (fanmade).
(You can send this information in a PM here on RPNation )
1) A summary of the RP, Character, or Story the piece is meant for.
2) The core concepts to keep in mind you'd like represented in the piece (such as a character's "angry" personality, or a story's overall theme of "freedom" or "joy," etc).
3) An estimate on the length of the piece.
4) Instrumental Complexity (*).
5) Harmonic Complexity (**)
* Instrumental Complexity basically asks if you'd like:
- Instrumental Solo, Duet, Trio, Quartet
- Partial/Full Orchestra
- (Any of the above) With or without electronics
** Harmonic Complexity asks whether or not you'd like to hear a more simple tune with a basic melody, harmony, and rhythm like you'd get from pop music, or a more complex piece that's more in keeping with the style of Hollywood composers and video game composers that uses key changes, complex chords for thicket, richer textures, etc.
1) Basic Piano Sketch Period
- I will provide a piano-only sketch anywhere between 10-30 seconds in length with a basic melody in the high voice, harmony in the mid-voices, and a bass line in the bass (obviously, lol)
- Until the piano sketch's final approval you are allowed to make as many requests for changes to the melody, harmony, rhythm, etc during this period as you'd like (so don't be shy or think you have to just say "yeah, it sounds great" even though you want something to change to spare my feelings as I don't take anything personally with regards to music)
- I will ask what instrument(s) you'd like featured in the piece (meaning you hear them the most often and/or they're the most prominent)
2) Instrumental Sketch Period
- Once the piano sketch is approved, I will orchestrate it into the various instruments/parts that will represent the basic idea of what the final piece would sound like
- This sketch will be bare bones with only the most important parts provided, and will have no plugins or processing/mixing (no reverb, delay, compression, etc)
- Again, you are allowed to make as many requests for changes to the concept as you'd like during this period so don't be shy
3) Final Sketch Period
- The first 30 seconds of the final version of the piece will be provided to you as a .wav file via a DropBox link to your email
- This is your absolute last chance to request changes to the piece, or give final approval
4) Payment and Delivery
- Upon final approval Payment will be provided via Zelle or PayPal
- Any final changes requested will be implemented before the completed .wav file will be provided via a DropBox link to your email
Thank you so much for checking this thread, and I look forward to working with anyone who's interested in my services!
Cheers!
