Minato stepped slowly up the stairs, opening the door and emerging on the roof. It was a bright and calm day in Inaba; the peaceful rural town was rarely the site for excitement. It was quiet and reserved... just the way he liked it. He didn't care much for the busy city life. He preferred to take things at his own pace and do things the way he wants, and around here, people never bothered him for that, and most likely never even noticed. It's the reason why he chose to attend Yasogami over Gekkoukan, the prestigious private academy that he had earned a scholarship to due to his excellent grades; it was set in a big island city. He passed up the offer for the rural setting of Inaba, something which anyone who knew would most likely claim his insanity over, but Minato didn't care.

Minato went over to the far side of the roof, sitting down on the concrete bench there. It was lunchtime, and he had packed his own lunch: boxed chicken and rice with shrimp. He made it himself, just as he made his own lunch every day, as well as breakfast and dinner, except on those rare occasions where he'd eat out, which wasn't for the socializing, but because he felt lazy, or had a particular craving for Aiya, the Chinese restaurant in the shopping district. In any case, he quickly opened his box of food, broke his chopsticks, and began eating.

Tsuna marched up to the roof with his lunch in-hand, sitting down at a bench by the entrance. The cool breeze brought peace to his mind as he opened his lunch, consisting of rice, chicken, and some vegetables. He broke his chopsticks and ate in silence. Everyday, ever since he moved to Inaba, Tsuna had learned to manage his own life due to the busy schedules of his parents' jobs, so he had taught himself how to cook, wash laundry, clean up the house, all that. Why had he moved to Inaba? His parents wanted to settle down in a rural setting, and enjoy a comfortable life raising their only child, Tsuna.

However, they would have to take on more time-consuming jobs to keep their child happy. Tsuna didn't ask for much; he was happy with what his parents had. Never once was Tsuna a spoiled brat. He willingly helped his parents with chores and all that, only expecting familial love in return. Sure, he had moments where he wanted something, which his parents happily provided as another way of thanking their loving son.

"Time sure flies..." Tsuna muttered to himself while eating, thinking back on his childhood.

Nowadays, Tsuna doesn't see his parents often, only seeing more and more bullies. He never understood their motive for bullying, but all he did know was that the students who did bully were scum. Tsuna finished his meal quicker than expected, and decided to clean up his mess before moving on to drawing. Random sketches littered the pages of his sketchbook, from characters in a TV show, to weapons in a video game, to just mindless scribbles that end up creating a solid image of something random.

Zack, with his lunch in hand, sits near the entrance of the school, eating rice and sushi from last night's dinner. He taps his foot on the ground gently, looking from side to side as he chews on his sushi. Despite being in Inaba for only a few months, he still felt alienated in such a foreign setting, still learning Japanese and getting used to the customs.

Zack's parents made the decision to move to Japan in pursuit of a "better life", but Zack could only guess what the real reasons for such a move were. Regardless, Zack knew the transition wasn't going to be easy, since he and his parents knew little about Japan or it's culture, with the only knowledge they knew being from the Internet. Zack was glad that his father managed to befriend a co-worker who was willing to help them out in their transition. Zack looked down, eyeing his food with a blank face. He shrugs and sighs lightly before continuing to eat.

Chigusa stretched her arms, taking her time exiting the classroom and following the horde of hungry students. She pondered over her choice of meal for today, result of a careless mistake she had made the night before. Multitasking had never been much of a forte for her, especially when it came to those who required the utmost caution, such as cooking. Long story short, she would never again try to cook her lunch for tomorrow while memorizing French verbs. Well, on the bright side, it was worth going over them for today's class. Her crave for a Yakisoba bread was too much for her to bare. Along with an iced coffee and a convenience store salad, courtesy of one of her classmates, who was kind enough to let her have it seeing how he was not all that interested in it anyway, she made her way towards the rooftop of Yasogami, satisfied with her efforts to find a decent lunch for her that did not made her feel too guilty about it...

The soft breeze was refreshing as it made contact with her skin, her pigtails flowing ever so gently with it. A quick glance over her surroundings allowed her to find a good spot and to recognize a few familiar faces, if nameless for the most part. Chigusa ate in small bites, savoring her meal as best she could. It had become a ritual of sorts to her, climbing the stairs to the rooftop, eating in peace without the typical looks she got from other girls for her choice of food or having her friends picking on her for it. Lunch was supposed to be a pause, a moment of relaxation and no one was going to ruin it for her! Still... She took a sip of her coffee, her eyes following the hands of a student going over his sketches absent-mindlessly. I do look pretty pathetic, don't I...?

Minato noticed the two other student join him up on the roof, but paid them no mind as they were smart enough to keep their distance. Minato finished his lunch and sighed, taking a sip of his canteen of tea, before fetching a book from his bag. It was one he had read before, and he could almost recite the entire novel verbatim, but it was one he never really grew tired of, though he did think to himself that he did need to visit the bookstore sometime and pick up a new one. He opened the book where the bookmark was and continued where he was.

Tsuna had noticed another student head up to the roof for lunch, but instead focused on his latest sketch. It seemed to be a weapon of some kind, resembling the lid of a coffin and a short, knife-like sword. As he finished this part of the sketch, Tsuna drew an arrow to the right of the two items, and began drawing detailed instructions on how the two were supposed to form one weapon, eventually creating a long-sword of some kind that gave off an eerie feeling; this feeling could be compared to the feeling one gets when visiting a graveyard at night.

Zack eventually finishes his lunch, gulping down the last of his rice. He puts his bento back into his school bag before getting up, smelling the air. He tilts his head to the side before sitting right back down, his arms drooping to his sides. He looks at his twitching fingers, feeling as if the day would never end.

"Hmm..."

When the lunch bell rang, Kotone took her packed bento lunch and headed to the cafeteria with her friends, just like any other day. Upon finally finding a decent table in the crowded eatery, she sat down and opened her lunch. Awaiting inside in the separated portions were curry, rice shaped like a panda with nori highlighting the eyes and ears, a neatly-sliced roll of sushi, and hotdogs cut in a way that made them look like octopi. Along with the food, was a small note from her mother to pick some groceries up on her way home. Making a mental version of the note from her mother, Kotone leisurely ate and talked with her friends, discussing test scores and catching up on the latest gossip about other students.

Even though she had just transferred to Inaba a week or so prior, she already felt adjusted to the rural town and drastic change of scenery from her previous home in Akihabara. She was disgruntled at first, knowing that she wouldn't have easy access to new games or manga anymore. However, after making new friends on her first week at her Yasogami, she felt that it wouldn't be too bad for her to live in the quiet, rural town.

Chigusa allowed a sigh to escape her lips, now full and refreshed. Closing her eyes and leaning backwards, she took a deep breath, relaxing her body for once. There she stood for a while, takin in the moment. Once she was done, she slowly opened her eyes. The sight before her drove her to hold her breath for a moment, taken by it. A butterfly. A blue, singular butterfly rested on top of the chained fence she had been leaning against for a while, its wings moving ever so slightly once, twice. Her gaze did not leave the creature for a second, her hand quietly fumbling through her belongings. Finding her phone, she gingerly tapped its surface, snatching a photo of what was before her own eyes. It soon flew away, but she was already satisfied. A beautiful picture, indeed. It felt as if it meant good fortune somehow, she thought as she smiled tenderly at it. The first-year was not familiar with the meaning of a blue butterfly of all things, as she was never much of a superstitious individual. A silly thought of her, perhaps. But then again, she was a bit of a silly girl herself....

As Tsuna finished his strange, coffin-based weapon sketch, he felt something fly by his head. He turned to see a blue butterfly flying away, its set course unknown.

"A butterfly... and blue none the less..." He muttered to himself. "It does look fairly entrancing..." Tsuna decided to capture the butterfly's image in his sketchbook, utilizing blue colored pencils and pens to recreate it in his book.

Zack scratches his chin before pulling out his phone quickly to check the time. He ponders before quickly shoving his phone back into his pocket. He grunts as he stands up and begins walking back to class, having nothing better to do during lunch. He hums quietly as he walks.

"Hmm, hm-hm...hm-hm, hm-hm, hm-hmm..."

Minato glanced up from his book, noticing a blue butterfly passing him by. He tracked the small thing with his eyes alone, not moving his head as it flew past, its wings beating oddly slow for a butterfly. Additionally, he noted that he'd never seen a butterfly such as it before, the bug being plain blue with no other distinguishing markings. He thought it strange, but nothing that couldn't be possible. He sighed and ignored the strange feeling that came over him as the bell to return to class rang. He bookmarked the page he was on and closed his book, taking his finished bento and putting it in his bag along with his book, standing up and heading to the door to the roof, heading back to his class in room 3-B.

As the bell rang, signaling that class was starting, Tsuna packed away all his personal items and walked silently to his class in room 3-B.

Zack hears the bell ring and quickens his pace to Room 2-A. Zack was not the type of person who liked being late, and he definitely didn't want to be marked for tardiness.

The bell pulled Chigusa back to reality, cutting short her train of thought as she looked over pictures. I really need to start saving money... If she was going to get a proper camera for her newfound obsession, that is. She stood up, dusting off her skirt, and gathered her bag and books for her next class. In a bright mood, she head off to Room 1-A, trying to remember which subject was next.

Minato sighed as he shuffled into his seat in class 3-B, arriving at around the same time as everyone else. Minato was a third year student at Yasogami, transferring to the school at the beginning of his second year of high school from his previous hometown. He lived on his own here, getting money from his grandparents in order to stay here, though he also did have a part time job as a translator, translating certain things from Japanese to English, which he made some spending money from. He could've easily gotten a job at the Junes department store, but retail certainly didn't suit him. He'd prefer to work at home. Besides, as a translator he worked on his own time whenever he wanted. He got piecework for it, so the more he did, the more he earned. It suited him just fine.

Minato listened to the lecture his teacher gave, though he would occasionally stare blankly out the window from the third floor of the building, getting a good view of the town below. He could see Junes from up here; it was by far the largest structure in town, as well as the shopping district, Tatsuhime Shrine standing out within.

Zack arrives to Room 2-A, sitting in his desk which was situated in the middle of the front row. He pulls out his books and his supplies, just feeling like getting through class so that he could go back home. He was grateful that his parents managed to find a place close to Yasogami High School, since less walking meant more time to finish his homework, which led to him having more time to relax and play video games.

Tsuna sat down in the back of class 3-B, close by the window which he often stared out of. It provided an excellent view of the town, allowing Tsuna to admire the blue sky or stare at Junes from where he was. Today, he wanted to sketch more stuff, for some odd reason. This time, he ended up with just random scribbles that formed one cohesive figure, though he was unsure what this new figure was.

Kotone and her friends heard the bell, and hurried off to back to class 1-A. She sat down on her spot in the center of the room, waiting for the rest of her classmates and the teacher to arrive. Then she worried about whether or not there was supposed to be a test that day.

Chigusa took her usual seat at the front of the class. Not as a way to show off, no. If anything she disliked being the centre of attention as much as she disliked Monday mornings, which would be saying a lot, all things considered. It was merely a strategy that would allow her to pay attention to class and not space out as usual. So far, so good! Organizing her desk as she awaited for the teacher to come in, she was ambushed by one of her friends as to clarify the reason for her absence on their usual spot at the cafeteria. Oh boy... It seemed as if she would have to make up for it in the future. The purchase of a camera would have to wait a little longer...

Minato began to space out a bit in class. He could afford to slack off a bit in paying attention, since he always scored top marks in tests anyway. He decided to flip open a notebook. It was the book he was writing. He had been working on it since he had came to Inaba, though he would be on and off with his writing. He wrote everything out in this notebook, and the plan was he'd eventually transfer it all to his PC and maybe one day submit it to be published. He wasn't terribly motivated to do so, however... he did want to, but he just didn't have that drive that would push him through it. Not quite yet... maybe he never would. He wrote just to pass the time, mainly, and although he was quite a few chapters into his story, he wasn't near through with everything he wanted to write. It'd take a while to get the book finished at this pace... at least he wasn't going to give up on it completely.

Zack works diligently on his school work, focusing on finishing in a timely manner. As he glances at the clock, he begins pondering about what he's going to do. Sure, he could just immediately walk back home once the bell signaling the end of the school day like he usually does, but ever since last night, he's been wanting to do something else. He wasn't sure what exactly, but just something other than secluding himself in his room for the hundredth time.

"What to do...what to do..."

Tsuna felt his desire to draw begin to grow into something else. He wanted to draw more than just random scribbles and unused weapon/character designs. "Perhaps I can draw some sort of manga? But I'd need to formulate some kind of story for it..." He thought to himself.

He didn't really pay attention in classes, but somehow always managed to pass all his tests; some he passed just barely, other he passed fully. Regardless of that, Tsuna decided to flip to a new page in his sketchbook and start drawing up a manga, creating a sketch of two humanoid beings in combat with one another, both wielding swords; this was the start of his soon-to-be manga, if he decided to publish it.

Kotone sat in class, relieved that there was no test but trying her absolute hardest to keep listening. The teacher rambled on and on about topics that seemed to be relevant in only one career choice, and the discreet but not undetectable movements and noises made by her classmates showing their obvious lack of enthusiasm for learning was becoming more irritable by the second. It was then that she wished she was at home, in her room at midnight, watching the newest episode of her favorite anime on her laptop with a freshly prepared package of cup noodles at her side… Kotone nearly fell asleep just thinking about how she would spend her night and shook her head to wake herself up. "<em>This is going to be on the test. I need to be listening so I don't spend my late night hours on studying instead of completing that new otome game I found!</em>"
