As a small handful of students and a teacher lay down to sleep, they are unaware that something has fallen upon their small town of Ravenswood.

They never knew they would meet, or even be friends. But even at that moment, someone was having trouble sleeping, as their life slipped away from them.

In a small room, away from everyone else, a boy ( MainEventMan MainEventMan ) woke in the dusty atmosphere. It was dark, and was hard for him to see...

"Hello, Sam."

Sam tossed and turned in his sleep that night. He mumbled slightly, as if he were having some kind of dream. Perhaps the dust of the attic he had taken up residence in was affecting his sleep? That couldn't be it...very slowly, the boy opened his eyes. He couldn't make out what was in front of him, as it was too dark to see. He coughed slightly from the dust in the air...he sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes. He couldn't make out what was in front of him...but he did hear a strange voice call his name. "H-Hello?" He called out into the darkness. "Who's there?"

Squad141 Squad141

A slightly blue-purple light reflected the room from seemingly nowhere. There, sitting at a desk, was man dressed all in purple clothes, with large circle-shaped purple glasses. HIs facial features were unreadable. The room appeared to be an armory of sorts, with weapons lining the wall, which was patched with comfy looking material and brick stones.
"I, am the owner of this room. I, am Eye."
The man bowed his head quickly.
"You, are Sam. The protagonist of a tale soon to come. These, are your comrades."
He motioned around Sam, who now noticed that he was one in a ring of chairs with faint silhouettes of humans in them.
"Now, before I tell you anything else, You must awaken these other fellows from their slumber. If you can do that, they will awaken in reality, and somehow be aware of you."
- Eye seems to be waiting for something.

Sam looked down, noticing he was no longer sitting up in his bed, but now in a chair. A chair that was a part of a ring of chairs. He saw other people sitting in them...but they were just faint silhouettes. He couldn't make anything else out about them other than that. Sam looked down, noticing his own phone in his hand. An app had popped open that he couldn't close or deactivate...there was just a space for him to sign his name. Feeling compelled to do so, he signed his name in the space provided, hitting enter afterward. "Alright..." He said, looking back up at Eye. "Now what?"

Squad141 Squad141

Eye seemed to be staring at him through his large glasses, with his hands folded on the desk. Then he snapped his fingers, and SAMs phone along with all of the others chairs dissapeared.
"Have a lovely day at school, Sam."
Then a beeping noise awoke Sam. It was time for school.

It's time, guys! You characters should arrive at school for Homeroom on there first day there. The teacher who is a Persona user is their Homeroom teacher, and as this is an Anerican school, each user will have different classes. All of you have the same Homeroom, but we will skip the unimportant classes. However, the teacher will also teach his Homeroom History class. You can start by having them go to school!

Markest got up in the morning like every other day, taking a shower, eating breakfast, and checking is email account for emails from his lawyer, which he didn't get any today. With sigh Markest grabbed his keys and left his apartment...

...Once at school Markest headed to his class. He waved and said good morning to some of the other teachers and students. Once at class Markest unlocked his door and prepared for his classes to start. Markest began writing his name on the white board and some needed details for class as he waited for school and classes to began.

Sam was jarred awake by the sound of his alarm. He quickly turned on his side, reaching over to his bedside table to flip it off. He then sat up in bed, putting a hand to his head. What was that strange dream he just woke up from...it certainly didn't feel like a dream...it felt so real...he looked at his clock again. He didn't have time to worry about that for now. It was his first day at his new school, and he didn't want to be late.

--------------------------

Sam walked through the halls, dressed in hi-top shoes, slacks, a denim jacket, and a bright red t-shirt. As he made his way to his homeroom class, he could already hear the other students gossiping about him, saying outrageous things like 'I heard he was transferred because he has a criminal record.', or, 'I heard he's from New York? That means he's gonna be a real jerk, right?' He didn't pay these rumors any mind however...he couldn't stop thinking about that dream he had...he checked the slip of paper in his hand, making sure he had the right room. "Mr. Clay...Homeroom." he muttered to himself after seeing that he hadn't made a mistake. He slipped past the door and sat down in one of the desks, a bit farther back, but not in the very back row.

Riley "Riles" Atwood let out a puff of grey smoke as he lifted the nearly depleted cigarette away from his lips. A shitty habit he gotten from his sister and apparently his grandmother too. not like he has the capability nor the intent of verifying such a claim, especially from his reminding family left, which was his sister, but she had her head too far up her own ass right now to talk to or even listen to him.

Riles threw the butt of the cigarette onto the ground and stomp it dead. Can't have arson added to your steadily growing list of misdeeds as well. Riles shoved his hands into his pocket and started to make his way out of the school parking lot and make his way to class. Not that he cared to learn anything nor befriend any of these sheep who mindlessly spread rumors and gossip as if it was the truth. He hated them each and every single one of them. It's why his sister moved out. It's why he has to fend for himself. It was also partly his own fault to be honest, he was a damn fool be a mindless thug, but sadly he can't change his destiny. But he can still change her's and the very least he can make it up to her is by going to class like a normal law abiding student.

As Riles walked down the hall several students whispered among themselves saying things, "I heard he kills people's pets..." or "I heard he's so terrible his sister had to move out to feel safe...", and even something outrageous as, "I heard he's planning on bombing the school on November 1st!" which caused a louder discussion among the group. Riles simple glared straight ahead and made his way to class.

He arrived to his homeroom class, his teacher was some fresh blood named Markest Clay... Wonder if he has brothers named Mark Clay and Marker Clay... God, that was lame. Good thing nobody can read his thoughts. Riles simply made his way into the class room, noticing that he's one of the kids who arrived early. More free seats for him to pick from. He thought. While Riles scanned the room for a good seat he noticed a kid he has never seen before. A real pretty boy he was. Riles simple just looked past him and walked down a couple seats past him sitting in the very back of the classroom near the farthest wall from the door in and near a window. It means the teacher won't ask him too many questions and he can't get glared at by the kids from behind if he has his back to the wall.

Avery walked into his new Homeroom for the year, Mr. Clays. He had his hands in the pockets of his purple hoodie, and his backpack with him. As usual to scenarios like this, he was the third kid to get there that morning. There were other kids in the back of the room, and he knew that he didn't know them. But going by the gossip on the way here, they both had bad reputations. In one smooth motion, Avery swung his backpack next to a desk, and sat down in a chair backwards facing the new students. "Hi there. Must be a disaster to have to sit around whilst kids look at you like terrorists and thugs. My names Avery," he held out his hand, "and this is the rotten school known as Edgar High."

Jo-Vaughn 'Joey' Arkwright

Another passing day in another passing life. Shining from the tiny gaps in between the blinds covering his window came the light of the bright sun, shimmering through the blinds. The light shone onto a bed of dark purple with star sheets, just waking the occupant up for the day ahead of him. His silver eyes blinked open, with vision blurry as he didn't have the best of eyes. Reaching over for the pair of black spectacles on a desk right next to the bed, then wore the glasses. His purple hair was more or less the same as it's always been, looking exactly the same as yesterday; an incredible mess that jotted strands of it in every direction it could.

Jo-Vaughn, or Joey, continued through the day getting ready for a first day of school. Taking a shower, eating his breakfast, the occasional greeting with a family member if they passed by, the typical morning routine stuff he would do on a day to day basis anytime. In the bathroom he tried combing his hair, though the fact that it was an uncontrollable chaos of purple hair that not even a god could command to be tidy was apparent. Next was putting on his hazel contacts, an initially uncomfortable experience but grew on him through the years. Spectacles got in the way of his work sometimes.

Once Joey reached school, the only thing he hoped was that nobody was talking about his reputation as a tech prodigy. Unbelievably high expectations set for him were something he disliked, as nearly everybody expects young prodigies to be geniuses in their respective areas when they got older. Though if it wasn't the prodigy thing they weren't talking about, it was the hair. Purple hair wasn't a normal occurrence in any place in the world. Old friends were nowhere to be found, with practically all of them going to some other school due to family, circumstance or some other shit.

To nobody's surprise, there was talk about him. It was the typical shit everybody talked about regarding him. Mentions of purple hair and them trying to guess why he has it, talk about his previous achievements as a tech prodigy. The typical things he'd hear when he was in the area. Some talked about why he's in this school of all the others a genius like him could be in. Soon the boy reached his homeroom class and just walked in, looking for some seat that was empty and shrugging off any stares that came to him. Joey took the seat farthest seat in the very back that was available, next to the seat of that orange haired kid.

His teacher was a guy named Markest Clay, who had a weird first name. Next he took a look at the other students in his class. Apparently a few of them were delinquents with criminal records, but he really didn't care much about that shit. Folding his arms, he then just rested his head on the table. Now all that he's gonna do was wait for homeroom to start.

As Markest finished writing on the board a few students start coming in. ...No hello or good mornings huh... I did when I was there age... God I'm thinking like an old man already... Markest thought to himself as none of the student said a word to him. "Kid you known I can hear ya right? There are far worse schools out there, trust I went to them at your age" Markest said looking at Avery before looking at the other students who had arrived so far. Markest then sat down at his desk and began looking the list of student he had this year. "...Did they give enough books to give to the class..." Markest said quietly to himself with a sigh at the end.

Home -> Homeroom

Although it was a new year Vivi felt like she was still treading through the same muck she usually was stuck in. She quickly got up as she silenced her alarm knowing that if she waited around too long it was going to be highly unlikely that she'd be able to beat her sisters to the bathroom in order to have any time to get ready. She took a moment to peek into her brother's room before rushing into the bathroom.
'He's still not home then.'
She didn't want to waste much time especially if her brother was out. She brushed her teeth and took a quick shower. She took a short amount of time to tie up her dyed green hair into her usual pigtails. Once she was done she got dressed into her comfiest outfit hoping that it would help her to gain the energy to make the most out of the day. She headed to the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast before leaving.
---
Although she didn't mean to it seemed somewhere along the line of searching for her homeroom she managed to get lost. In fact as soon as she got to the door she saw who she assumed to be the teacher start to write on the board. As she wasn't one to meekly cower away from others she decided to not allow that to force her into rushing and quickly took up an empty seat in the second to last row sitting directly in front of a kid who looked to be planning to sleep away the class.

Riles was looking out the window before suddenly a young man a couple seats ahead of Riles spoke up, trying to act civil Riles was srupised there was anybody who can be so civil to apparent criminals. This Avery is a strange kid. Riles simple nodded his head and let out an acknowledged grunt. It wasn't disapproving or annoyed simply to let the kid knew he was heard. Two more students walked in, both have unnatural hair colors, purple and Blueish-Green. Riles would find the hair colors overwhelming to look at but his own bright orange hair got him used to such bright colors Both of them sat to his right, the girl to closer to the front while the Purple haired kid sat right next to him, Riles already find this selection of students a bit too breakfast club-esque for his liking. But he didn't voice his thoughts, didn't want to cause any more drama with words, words have too much power he found.

The teacher responded to Avery's words, responding that Edgar High isn't the worst school around, Riles let out a small tch noise and spoke for the first time that day. "Just because you had it objectively worse doesn't means our suffering and eventual failure from the social and academic failings of public schooling is less than your's." Riles let out bitterly. School has failed him, and he knows Mr. Clay is just doing his job but it's hard not to be bitter. It's hard to not be bitter with a life like his. Riles went back to looking out the window.

Sam looked around as the remaining students entered the room. He then thought for a moment...some of these students...the teacher included...it was tough to make out, considering this was the first time he had seen their faces...but some of them had the same body shape as the people Eye showed him in his dream...that couldn't be. It was impossible. Wasn't it...? He was then jarred out of his train of thought when a student named Avery greeted him. Sam smiled lightly, shaking his hand. "Sam. It's good to meet you." He said warmly.

"Yeah, thanks. I've been through my bit of gossip and rumors. Nice to meet you." He looked up as the bell rung. "Welp, time for the first day. Today, we have homeroom all day, so be glad you don't have to experience that many things yet." Avery looked over at the other kids in class, particularly the sleepy ones. "I still don't understand how some kids can sleep already. Oh well, their loss."

Sam smiled after greeting Avery, turning back around to face the teacher as the bell run. As soon as Avery mentioned it, he couldn't help but look around at the sleeping students too. His thoughts once again returned to that peculiar dream he had...he shook those thoughts from his head, trying his best to focus on his teacher.

Markest sighed after hearing Riles comment on them going to fail at school. "Well it's my job to make sure you don't fail at school and it's up to you deal with your social issues." Markest said back right as the rest of the student came in. A moment later the bell began ringing. Markest waited a moment for the student to get seated. "Hello everyone, I welcome you to the first day of the school year and the first day of your world history class. I will be your teacher Mr.Clay." Markest said before pointing at his name on the white board. "Now before get into anything, I will read off attendance. When you hear your name say something to confirm it's you and then something interesting about yourself." Markest said before beginning reading off everyone's name.

Optimism, funny, most teachers give up on him once they learn about him. Maybe this teacher hasn't read up on him yet, Riles knows he's gonna disappoint him soon enough, he always does. The teacher introduced himself as Mr. Clay for those that don't read their school schedule. Riles laughed internally at the idea that a delinquent is more prepared than some 'good kids' Who were all currently sleeping. Maybe this teacher optimism might be broken in one day, such a pity but nevertheless expected.

Riles simply raised his shoulders in a shrug at Avery's comment. Kid's these's day don't get the necessary sleep they need but he wasn't gonna say that, riles sure he's already on Markest's shit list. Said Teacher started doing Attendances, after a couple of names Riles' name was called out as 'Riley Atwood' instead of answering politely Riles simply corrected Markest with a simple three word sentence. "Call me Riles." He said before focusing back on the window.

suddenly once a few more names weren't acknowledged even though Riles knew they were in the room but were just sleeping. Riles spoke without someone talking to him "The right thing to do is we should wake them up... They'd be pissed but the 'normal' kids at this school are always pissed about one thing or another." Riles commented, before he let out a airy chuckle. "Or we can let them rest and let us 'weirdos' be left alone for once." Riles Snidely remarked with his first smile of the day, with a smile like it it was clear why people call him a troublemaker.

Joey Shit Banner (2).png

More people came, and soon the entire class was filled. Joey went from looking like he was just gonna sleep the entire class to looking like he was carefully eyeing every single student or person in the class and taking mental notes of what they each looked like. With his sunken eyes darting around to look at each person, his orbs quickly took note of each person in the class and who looked the most prominent. There was the ginger kid with freckles who looked like a trashy delinquent or a petty wanna-be criminal who wanted to look edgy. A somewhat asian looking guy with glasses, a greenish blue haired girl sitting in front of him, some pretty boy with brown hair, and a plethora of other students that he didn't really feel like noting of that much.

Bringing his attention to the front now to where the teacher was now introducing himself after the bell rang, Mr. Clay just did what he expected him to afterwards. That is, to read off everybody's name. And Joey took this opportunity to take note of everyone's names if they were to actually respond that is. Because from what he can gather, quite a few of them were sleeping from the looks of it. After some names were said, he learned that the criminal-looking guy sitting next to him was named Riley Atwood, or Riles. Then after a few more names, it was his name that was finally said.

Jo-Vaughn Arkwright, a pretty damn fancy name he was given in his opinion. Compared to the name of his brother, his just seemed so much more fancier. But well, he couldn't complain anyways as the name is now stuck with him forever. And the only way to change that was with a simple nickname. "Just call me Joey," was all that he responded with. Afterwards he just continued with his mental note taking thing. Making sure to remember which was which. To the comments Riles made, he himself responded with a light chuckle. "Let 'em sleep, then it's less idiots to worry about for the day," he said in response.

Tommy could barely keep his eyes open, and class had just started. This was not particularly a good thing, he thought. Maybe it was that dream he had last night. No, it could be. But his eyelids were heavy, so... What's a tiny nap gonna do?
----------------------------
Avery raised his hand when his name was called noting the way the orange haired kid was trying not to be noticed. At all. But, having a light orange tinge to his hair himself, he knew the ridicule it might bring about someone. He had seen some more kids come in around him, all trying their best to be independent, and Abery understood that. But in this school, that wouldn't work all year. The gossip in Edgar Allen High was enough to drive someone crazy if they just ignored it all year.
"So, have you heard about the Dream Killer yet?" Avery was focusing this question on the orange haired boy in the back. "How about any of you guys?" He motioned to the rest of the students who arrived to class early, hoping to start a conversation.

Homeroom

Vivi was quick to start pulling out her notebook and pencils at soon as she sat down. Even if it was the first day she didn't want to break out of her own organizational habits, this would be a period of self study and finishing homework even if she had to force herself to be productive. She was sure to pay attention to when her own name was called although she usually had teachers who would be able to pronounce her name she knew several classmates who were not so fortunate.

She took note of the two males that were called earlier in the roll asking to be referred to as different names than were on the list. It would probably be of use to remember as they took up seats nearby, it was possible they may wind up interacting after all. As soon as she heard her name being called made sure to raise her hand high as she spoke with clarity.
"Both Viviana or Vivi will work fine sir."
For the most part she continued to simply draw in her notebook as the roll continued. She wound up hearing the boy, Avery if she remembered right, that was diagonally in front of her speak up to ask about the Dream killer. She let out a quick sigh as she put down her pencil and closed up her notebook. She readjusted her chair to more directly face the male.
"I have, after all it's the towns main gossip. Does you asking mean that you believe it? Or are you all for the other side?"

"Here." Sam stated simply when his name was called. He figured they would have a bit before class really got started, so he took out his notebook to do some doodling. He stopped however when Abery began speaking. "Dream Killer?" He asked. "No...I haven't...sorry...I just moved in a few days ago, I'm not all that familiar with the local legends or...whatever."

A few names were spoken, Sam Kane, Vivian Davis, Avery Ryokou, Jo-Vaughn Arkwright or just 'Joey", and himself was all who responded.to Markest's roll call. Everybody else was sleeping, oddly enough all of them were in their own little corner of the class room. Made talking among themselves more eaiser if Riles cared for that and honestly? With this group they were interesting in their eccentricities. Let's see how long they can keep being interesting.

Joey responded to his joke, saying the rest of the sheep for students should stay asleep so that's less idiots, Riles didn't care for the implied insults but he didn't hold against him people are idiots you have to know a person to know if they're smart themselves or like the rest who are sheep. Avery spoke up asking if they heard about the rumor of the ream killer which Riles obviously knew about since he lived here his whole life and even when your a pariah like him you still hear such rumors. Before Riles could respond with a simple nod Vivian spoke up confirming that she knew about the rumor and implying everybody who lived here long knows about it. Which the next person who talked confirmed that the rumor isn't known out of town yet when Sam shook his head and said he never heard of it saying he moved here a few days ago.

Riles simply raised his shoulders into a shrug and said, "I heard of it, obviously, but I don't particularly care about the rumor, I know people are dying for real in their sleep but It hasn't killed anyone I know yet so I have no reason to really care nor am I fake enough to pretend I do." Riles admitted bluntly, he didn't care enough to lie. Riles really hated when people pretended to care.

Avery sighed at the ones who already knew. Of course they did, the police had been working non-stop ever since the first case was reported. But,it seems that the transfer student didn't know what was going, so, loudly so everyone could hear, he explained: "Supposedly, if you are chosen by this unseen force, you'll have a really strange dream one night involving your worst fears, and ending with it killing you. The next time you go to sleep, you'll see it again from first person perspective, then actually die in your sleep after sleepwalking to a random spot in the wilderness. Some say that it targets you for your sins, or for your achievements, but so far there's been no main pattern." He said most of this with a straight face, remaining decisive that it was real on it. Avery continued to try and chat with the other students throughout the short time they were there together, as the bell rang, but students just played on their phones or asked to go to the bathroom. Some slept of course, but only one seemed to be having a bad time. A boy with short black was fidgeting in his sleep.

Then his eyes opened, and he sat up.

joey badass.png

Most of these idiots were sleeping, which he didn't mind much at all. It only meant lesser noise and less people to worry about. The few people that did answer to the role call were all conveniently placed in the corner of the class, like they were a bunch of protagonists in an anime or something because they always put the important ones near the window at the back. Joey caught a few more names now. Those being Viviana Davis or just Vivi who was the green girl, Sam Kane was the pretty boy sitting in front of Riles, Avery Ryokou was that guy with glasses and that was about it.

Next, time continued to pass the little group in the corner as the others just continued to sleep. Joey himself liked to have the occasional nap too, considering he does typically stay up late way too often just making stupid little programs that would play sound effects whenever something happened or play text to speech audio of stupid dad jokes and quotes at random times. Other than that he would go around making mods to games he liked. There's also the special little hobby he has involving hacking, and the little incident he's found regarding his brother's wife and all. Listening to the recorded conversations over and over was something he'd do.

"The dream killer huh? I've read a couple of articles about it, don't really care much about it but it is an interesting topic." Back when the topic first came out, he got interested in the idea of a person being able to kill someone in their sleep. Though unfortunately he then just sort of forgot about it and moved on. Joey paid attention to Avery's explanation of how these murders were supposedly done, though he did find it unnecessarily loud as he was pretty sure that they'd be able to hear it if he spoke in a normal tone. At the corner of his eye, Joey noticed some kid fidgeting in their sleep who then sat up. He brushed it off as they'd just heard the bell ring, so that might've just woke the guy up and just continued to listen to whatever they're little group was talking about.
