Realistic or Modern Peril In Paradise!

Hollycrest

Summer is finally here! You and ten of your classmates from Hollycrest U have been selected to spend a month on the tropical island of Lazura, all expenses paid by Polly Perez International, a corporate giant which manufactures some of the world's greatest technology.

That morning, you were all taken to an airstrip where you boarded a jet plane bound for Lazura. All of your classmates seem to be at varying levels of excitement. Despite having gone to the same college, you don't really know any of them very well, and considering that you're to spend a month with these people you should probably start making some friends.

(TLDR: You're all sitting in a fancy-ass plane cabin like the one pictured below. Feel free to mingle with one another for the time being; establish friendships, relationships, whatever you want. It will pay off in time!)

Sasha Autumn
Sasha tapped her foot along to the beat of the song he was listening to, mentally choreographing a dance routine to it as she did. She was comfortably seated in an unusually fancy plane seat, with one earbud in. She had never been on a plane like this before, and it was exciting! Of course, the whole idea of having a month long free holiday was hard to believe, and she was ecstatic about it. She grabbed her bag, and extracted a bag of strawberry bonbons from it. She had brought snacks with her of course. She popped one in her mouth, and looked around the plane.

The whole thing was incredibly posh, and she felt quite out of place in her hoodie and sports leggings. Her dyed pink hair seemed strange in this kind of environment, instead of cool and fun. Then again, most of the others probably felt the same way.
There were other students on the plane too, none of which Sasha knew well, or at all really. They all seemed kind of intimidating though, and Sasha didn't want to interrupt them if they were busy. However, she did leave one earbud out, to avoid deterring anyone from approaching her. She might not know anyone yet, but she intended to make friends here.

Upon arriving at the airstrip, Lizzie was excited, yet a little overwhelmed. Having only spent one semester on campus at Hollycrest, she didn't have many friends. Okay...no friends at all. She took this as an opportunity to connect with some people despite her handicaps in life.

She'd been absent many days in her high school career on account of her condition and had only graduated based on her exceptional test scores. When it came to college, her financial situation forced her to do her entire freshman year and half of her sophomore year online. As a result, she had little experience with social interaction. But she was sure to make an effort.

Lizzie shuffled uncomfortably in one of the leather seats of the fancy plane cabin. It was definitely better than a gurney or one of those uncomfortable plastic chairs, but it still took some getting used to.

She worried that she might stand out, but her classmates all looked quite different from one another. Everyone seemed to stand out in their own way.
Lizzie's attention was immediately met by a girl with long pink locks eating some sort of pink candy and sitting in the adjacent aisle. Considering that there was no one sitting across from her, she leaned across the aisle to get the girls attention.
"Hi! I'm Lizzie. Whatcha listening to?" Lizzie mentally scolded herself for coming on so strong, but at the same time it felt better than not coming on strong enough.

He was sitting in one of the paired seats separated by a table, eyes shut and arms crossed in moderate annoyance. The roar of the engine was practically in his ear even with the loud music blasting from his white earbuds. Aiden had never flown before and from this first experience alone, he probably would never do so again. The entire process of getting a passport, a visa, packing his things, and waiting to load the aircraft was enough to make the twenty-three year old go insane. If it weren't for his best friend's cohesion, he probably wouldn't have had to deal with the trouble to begin with, but of course she's the master of persuasion and he's one of her "minions" as she liked to call it.

Going back a few months, Aiden was minding his own business in the bar one night when his red-headed girl friend bounced in with the brightest smile on her face. She'd apparently signed him up for some kind of paid vacation where ten people got to spend time in Lazura. At first he was appalled by the action because he hated when things were done without his permission but he could never stay mad at Eliza for long, especially with her reasons being he'd never gone on a vacation since entering university and it was his last summer before graduating. The inevitable then occurred and he was sucked into a temporary world of chaos and paperwork like a bird trying to fly away from a tornado.

With him being a workaholic, however, he preferred all compared to sitting in a plane with nine strangers for what already felt like days.

Looks familiar. Ryan thought to himself as he momentarily studied the aircraft. He slightly squinted his brows when the group finally entered the main cabin. Suddenly, it hit him. Ryan placed his carryon atop one of the white leather chairs before nonchalantly making his way over to the cockpit. The young adult removed one of his ear buds and shifted his gaze through the cockpit’s window. Good ol’ Nigel. He thought to himself as he eyed the older guy crouched below the dashboard.

. . checking for light leaks,” Ryan reported smoothly leaning into the unguarded cockpit. A thud against the dashboard could be heard causing the nineteen year old to cringe a bit. In all honesty Ryan thought it was a new beat to the music in his ears; however, he soon noticed the actual sound’s origin once the mechanic slightly glared at him. “Jesus kid, I told ya not to get up in here,” The mechanic recalled after hitting his head below the dashboard. The seemingly grumpy man then looked over at his sleeping partner and shook his head. “But Bravo Zulu,” The main repairer mentioned tilting back into the chair to eye Ryan, “How’s your pop?

He’s aight,” Ryan replied folding his arms across his chest and leaning against the doorframe, “Still wondering where his poker chips at…”. The older man grinned letting out a slight laugh. The mechanic was Ryan’s father’s friend from college who usually gave the Decarlos a repair. This man’s familiarity with the small family was exceptional.

Get yourself on over to the seats before you get caught, son,” The mechanic obnoxiously popped the pink bubble he had just blown with a breath. It was no mistake that Nigel was already conscious about Ryan’s stubborn demeanor. “Alright . . . Gustavo,” Ryan smirked looking at the mechanic’s mistaken name tag. To him, it was always fun to mess with the sarcastic family friend. “Rub it in,” Nigel stated before checking some radars. As fun as that sounded, Ryan was already tired from the manual he binge read the previous night about electromagnetic heat waves. “Eh see ya, dude,” The young man laughed shrugging off the opportunity to further challenge the mechanic.

Ryan walked back into the main cabin and almost threw himself onto the comfortable white seats. It had only been 3 months since his last trip on an airbus across the state. However, this time it was different since his family was not within sight.

The guy shuffled around in his seat a bit to find the perfect position before recognizing a new face in front of him. “ . . Yo,” Ryan nodded at the fellow whose eyes were seemingly shut in annoyance. Okay, nevermind. He thought to himself before slightly smiling at the girls in the row in front of them and waving.

Sasha Autumn
Sasha turned at the sound of a voice, grinning. So people did want to talk to her! She seemed really friendly, and enthusiastic, so maybe she wouldn't mind Sasha's incessant talking. "Hi! I'm Sasha, Sasha Autumn, and I'm at HollyCrest U on the dance and gymnastic program, so I listen to music a lot. At the moment I'm listening to Death of a Bachelor by Panic! At the Disco, you've probably heard of them, they're great! I'm always listening to music and mentally choreographing and stuff. How about you?"

Sasha said the whole spiel at top speed, without seeming do draw breath. After she stopped, she blushed slightly, and said "Oh um, sorry. I talk too much, and too fast." She chuckled self conciously, and smiled at the girl.

Evan Galieth Evan sat in the back of the plane with his guitar, several sheets of paper, a laptop with headphones and a backpack. While everyone talked Evan sat in the back constantly going between the computer and guitar. He felt a bit on edge with these new people so he thought it would be better if he didn't talk. "Ok that should be it. Now i just have to memorize it." He began to play the guitar softly and sang quietly. you could kind of hear it but some parts were covered by the engine noise.

Lizzie blinked momentarily, taking the time to take in all of Sasha's words.
"No no, it's alright. I do too sometimes. And that's a good song, you have good taste." She glanced behind her at the kid who had just walked in and practically thrown himself into a seat, lightly smiling as an answer to his wave.
"So...haven't seen many of you guys around campus. Then again, I've only been here one semester."
