Your Majjiesty
Introduction:
Welcome To Aurora, a bustling town full of life and charm. It is a lot like other towns, and full of a variety of people who call it’s streets home. It doesn't matter how you got here or why. It makes no difference if you moved here a few weeks ago or if you have been here your whole life. You will always remember the day you got here and wonder what possessed you to stay. Be it destiny or coincidence, you were at ground zero when the world went to hell.
What the population doesn't know is that a very sick man was transported to the local hospital just a few weeks past. Whatever he has, it has the doctors stumped. He only has a short while left on this earth, they can't combat his sickness, he is doomed. His death will bring mass genocide to the town of Aurora.
Whatever he had, it didn't let him stay dead, and it's contagious. So contagious in fact, that the slightest scratch, or bite passes it on. They get the same disease, slowly killing them from the inside. The time varies from person to person, they could have weeks left, days, or maybe just hours. When their hearts stop, they join the hordes of walking corpses. At first glance they look human, but they are mindless, soulless monsters. They have only one human instinct left, the need to feed.
They will eat anything they can get their hands on, anything alive...and that means you.
It doesn’t matter how you got to Aurora or why, the real question is can you get out alive?

Everyone is infected. The virus that causes reanimation is airborne, and everyone in Aurora has become a carrier for the disease, even if they don’t realize it. It doesn’t matter how you die, moments after you will reanimate and join the army of undead. The only death that seems to be immune to reanimation is a trauma to the brain.
Something even more vile can be contracted by blood. This means that if any part of the undead comes into contact with your bloodstream, through any wound, you are stricken with a fatal illness. No wound is safe, any break in the skin, any scratch, any cut is capable of ending your life. The length of time from when you contract the disease, from the time you die varies from person to person, but the location also has some effect. A bite to a major artery will cause the disease to spread quicker than a lesser one. The most common forms of becoming infected with this virus are by zombie bite or scratch, although you can become infected through other forms of contact.

The corpses are led by the most basic instincts, the need to eat. They are not inherently smart but do retain a certain amount of intelligence. While they don’t speak or retain any of their humanity they do know enough to move toward sounds, smells, and sights that would lead them toward food. This means that sometimes large groups of corpses are attracted to the same areas and end up moving into what some would call “herds”
It’s hard to predict how the zombies will move, you might be lucky enough to find a few stragglers by themselves, but in well populated areas it is likely that you will run into herds and it will become easy to become overwhelmed and surrounded.
Be cautious of noises like car alarms, sirens, and even guns. While guns can be a useful and rare commodity in the apocalypse, a good survivor knows when a silent kill is more useful and is the difference between success and death.
The undead tend to overpower the living because they don’t have the brain activity that keeps them from damaging their muscles by using too much strength. You’re greatest asset against the walkers is your brain and speed. You will lose a strength contest with them every time (unless they are missing limbs or have other physical limitations) Thankfully they tend to move much slower than normal humans.
Severe brain trauma is the only way to dispatch a reanimated corpse and is the only way to keep a human from turning. Examples of this include:

Severe brain trauma is the only way to dispatch a reanimated corpse and is the only way to keep a human from turning. Examples of this include:
- Being shot in the head
- Bludgeoning a skull
- Hard hits to the head via objects like baseball bats or crowbars
- Force to the temples
Supplies:
- While it would seem that you should always pick a weapon over that can of ravioli, a backpack full of food might be just what you need to stay alive. You can just as easily die of dehydration or starvation as you can by becoming a zombie's lunch. Keep tabs on your rations.
- No gun has unlimited shots, and that being said, ammo can be heavy and limit your mobility. Aurora has been a peaceful town until the undead invaded, so guns and ammo are also extremely hard to come by. Be wary of your ammo supply and capacity and always aim for the head.
- Not every location is going to have supplies, be smart about how and where you take the time to loot.
