"I think it's near now. Not far," Caps voice came through the intercom. Anaiah rolled her eyes, her bare back leaning on the cold tree bark. It wasn't exactly the comfiest position, but she needed to get her breath back. They had been chasing this sceptre for months now, and it had all been dead ends. Every time, every freakin time, Cap had said they were near.

"I'll believe it when I fucking see it," she mumbled to herself, not audible for others to comprehend. Obviously, this wasn't missed by Tony. The man, who loved nothing more than to wind up his younger colleague, smirked. "What was that? I don't think we quite caught that, Ana" He said. His voice was a little distorted through the intercom, but she could still hear his snarky tone.

"Fuck you, Stank. Don't start me now," she panted, running once more. She ducked, hiding behind another tree. Twenty so bullets were fired her way. "Shit!"

"Language!" Cap scolded without a thought. A dry laugh escaped her lips. Of course, they were all fighting for their lives but god forbid they swear. Steve was too righteous. A laugh came through the intercom, and she didn't need to ask who it was. At least Tony found some humour in all of this. It wouldn't be hard for him though, she mentally dubbed. Flying in his iron suit made him invincible to the ground attack.

"Sorry, Steve" she apologised sincerely. He may be a little annoying, a little too righteous, but she respected him. Boss or not, Cap was a lovely man. The men he was striking down would say that was debatable though. Ah well. She thought he was nice anyway, and she never ever made assumptions on people. Her life had taught her that. People always deceived you. Trust no one. Steve was different though. Her brother. Well, he was like her brother. He had always treated her like the little sister that he'd never had, and was the sole reason she had joined.

"Just tell Tony to stop being a little bitch, and I'll be fine," she added.

There was no reply. On caps side on the intercom there was a loud noise. A deafening noise. Then a loud "shit" could be heard. Surely that was not... but it was. The famous Captain America had swore, doing exactly what he had scolded his sister off for.

"Language!" Her and Tony joked simultaneously, using his words against him. There was no reply. It was an obvious sign that he didn't find it as amusing as the rest.

"We have a code red here," Clint's voice could be heard. Strange, clint didn't often use the intercom.

"Situation?" Tony asked. No reply.

"Just get your ass down here. How fast can you get down here?" Clint answered at last. His voice was shaken. The words he spoke were so quick that they blended into one. Tony wouldn't be able to get down there yet, but Anaiah could. Tony had the GPS. He and Cap had to focus on breaking down the shield and getting inside. It was up to her to help.

Sliding her back up the tree cautiously, Anaiah pulled her boomerang dagger from her boot. She flung it at the black jeep passing. On target, as always, hitting the driver in the neck. The car swivelled, and crashed, but was not broken. She would use it to reach Clint as quick as possible. As she ran, crouched, to the vehicle. She noted the amount of men she had taken down with a huge grin. 35 men, in this area. That meant, overall, so far, she had singlehandedly killed 60 men. She had definitely won Natasha this time.

Strucker glared at the computer screen in frustration. "Is everyone incapable of stopping them?" he shouted over to his captains. None of them dared to speak back to him for fear he would either kill them or send them out meet their doom at the hand of an avenger. Strucker shook his head as he ran a frustrated hand through his hair as he looked around for some kind of solution. They needed to examine that scepter closer than they were given the time for.

"Sir," one of the captains said rather boldly as the others stayed quietly behind him, "The twins might be able to help in this situation."

Strucker sent daggers from his eyes in the Captain's direction. The twins. He had personally been part of the team to create the twins and turn them what they were today. He took a moment to ponder the idea. He wasn't sure if they were ready yet, but he knew that they needed to buy themselves more time with the scepter. "Send them in."

~

Steve grabbed his shield and threw it into two guards before catching it on the rebound. Suddenly before he could throw his shield again he was taken down and fell on his back. "What in the world?" he asked as he looked around, "Anybody else see that?" He looked about before getting up slowly and trying to see what had hit him. It wasn't a bullet as he wasn't bleeding and it came in too fast."

"See what?" Clint asked as he fired an arrow at one of the compounds. He turned away waiting to hear his arrow explode but nothing happened. His brow furrowed before looking around. "Hey...," he said but before he could fire another one he was knocked off his feet as well, "Woah!"

Suddenly he saw a boy appear out of nowhere. "You didn't see that coming?" he asked with a tilt of his head before zipping off again.

"Guys we have a problem," he said as he looked around.

Run. Duck. Breathe. Run. It was a pattern that Anaiah had developed, it hadn't failed her yet. Sometimes, she found that she hated the Avengers. Never did she hate them in a way were she contemplated killing them. Well, there was times that she did consider killing Tony. She was just bitter. Bitter that most of them, excluding herself, Nat and Clint, had special powers. They all completed stuff like this with ease.

Running again, she found herself with a side stitch. Not good. A mental note was added: work out more. Exercising was her life. She always devoted a minimum of four hours a day to working out. Four hours or not, she needed more. Way more. A quick duck, as a bullet skimmed her head, but this time she was not as graceful. She fell, rolling down the hill, and landed with a thud. Great, just great. Today could not get much worse. At least Stark hadn't seen her little gymnast routine.

Tony was busy with that god damn shield. Although he wouldn't admit it, as he didn't want to get anyone's hopes up, this seemed like the place. Never had anywhere else they raided been so secure.

"Jarvis?" He hissed, punching himself in the chest as his power glitched. "Update?"

"Working on it, Mr Stark. Just five more minutes, Sir". Five more minutes? He would be lucky if he lasted 5 more seconds in the bloody ship wreck. He knew the suit needed more work. It was art, a work in progress. He hadn't realised that it had needed THAT much work. Maybe it hadn't until it had passed through this war zone.

Grinding his teeth together, Tony considered his options. He could land, and fight on ground like the other commoners. He would save more power that way, power and charge that would desperately be needed. If he was right, and he liked to think that he was always right, this was the place. And, if this was the place, it was gonna be ten times worse inside.

"I'm going to switch to low power mode, Jarvis. Can you work with that?" He muttured. His eyes scanned his surroundings for a safe place to land. The was an explosion nearby. Too close for comfort. "Jarvis!" He repeated, his voice filled with more and more aggravation.

"That is fine, sir. I'll scan a safe place to land right away".

Tony fixed the location onto where Cap was stood, already deciding his location. "That won't be necessary. Just focus on taking down the fucking great wall of China".

"Language Tony," Steve said as he continued to look around for whatever had knocked him over, "Clint you alright?"

Clint looked around and tried to see where the speedster had gone off too. "There's someone down here who is fast. Like freakishly fast," Clint replied as he grabbed an arrow and tried to look around, "I don't know where he went. Anyone else see him running around?"

Strucker smirked as he watched the Avengers become all discombobulated. Just one of the twins had the team all turned around and confused. "Serena," he said turning to the young blonde, "Protect the scepter at all costs. No one escapes alive with that thing. We need it for further experimentation."

She nodded sharply before walking towards the back and making herself invisible awaiting for someone, anyone, to walk in and try to step in and lay a hand on Strucker's beloved artifact.

Meanwhile Pietro ran by quickly took one of Clint's arrows and throwing it at the captain and the guy in the robotic suit. He smirked as he hid behind a tree. He wasn't the stealthiest guy around but he didn't really need to be at this point.

Anaiah didn't like vulnerability. The ground was a pretty vulnerable place. For this reason, she had consumed a lot of her remain in energy to climb a nearby tree. She was near enough to Clint to help from here, and she could have a better view of what was happening.

Clint was disorientated. He had called out, claiming that something was with them. If Thor had been right, which he often was (to Starks dismay), then Strucker had crazy power with this sceptre. Did this power stretch out to making a complete new species? A species that was invisible to the human eye? Anaiah found herself grunting, defeated. If this thing was invisible, they were in for a ride.

Steading her pistol with both hands, she leaned on her stomach along the branch. She wasn't exactly sure what she was searching for or aiming at. A bullet might not even take them down, but right now it was her best option. Right now, she at least had the element of surprise.

She was about to speak into her intercom, tell the rest that she couldn't see much. There was nothing there. When, suddenly, as if it came from no where, a man appeared. He was tall, rugged, and rather handsome. He held himself in a cocky posture, shoulders back and head high. A huge smirk consumed his beautiful face. Anaiah found that she was quite mesmirized. Maybe they were not supposed to be seeking a something but instead a someone.

She aimed the gun at his silver head, closing one eye to focus. Her gun was ready to aim. She was ready to fire. At least, she was ready until he picked up one of Clint's bows and fired it in their direction.

She shot her gun, but it was slightly off target. If it hit him, it probably wouldn't have done much good. "Clint!" Anaiah screamed. "Watch out. Bastard!" She launched herself from the tree. This time landing gracefully on her feet. She fired her gun a couple of times, without looking, and ran towards the direction of her friends.

Tony, who had seen everything, narrowed his eyes. When the bloody hell had that arrow came from. Clearly, it had been aimed in his direction. And, unfortunately for Clint, he had took the hit.

As he landed, he began to calculate how far he was from the shield. If he began running now, by the time he reached it the shield would be down. He hoped so at least, holding onto the thought that he was never wrong.

He didn't have time to help Clint. This was a battle and battle wounds happen. Besides, it seemed like Anaiah had it under control. That's what he would say later anyway, when everyone asked why he didn't help.

"Cap? You with me?" He screamed to the supposed leader through the com over the noise. "I'm going to start heading towards the shield. Jarvis will have it down in no time. Just keep shooting".

Clint winced and hit his knees as he held his side. "Man down," Steve said as he ran over to Clint, "Tony I'm with you but you have to move fast. Clint's been hit and it looks pretty bad. We need to get him out of here as quickly as possible."

"He is right, man of Iron," Thor said as he hit a few guards back with his hammer, "We can hold them off but we need to get him out of here quickly, "Besides Loki's staff can't be kept in their clutches much longer. They would have more time to allow for testing on it."

Steve quickly began to wrap Clint's wound as best he could. "I'm going to get him back to the jet," he said, "Thor, Banner stay behind for me and keep them off our tail. And someone figure out what the heck that fast thing is."

It was just then Pietro sped past Thor and hit him down before disappearing in the blink of an eye. Thor immediately looked around and grabbed his hammer as he growled and hit on the ground causing the boy to trip over the cracks in the ground. He tumbled to the ground, dirt getting into his silver hair. Steve tilted his head and got up quickly from his knees. "It's a man," he said, "Tony we've got a super powered unfriendly down here."

"I want to go with Clint," Anaiah narrowed her eyes in an attempt to hold back the tears. If only she would have- no, it was no good thinking like that. There was no stopping what happened in a battle. There was always going to be damage some way or another. Clint though, poor innocent Clint. The man who had taken the role of her father when she had joined. The only kind of father figure that she had in life. "I want to go with Barton," she repeated more firmly, making herself heard.

Steve shook his head, no. "We need more man power down here. It's completely unnecessary to waste two men on a one man mission".

"I'm a woman," she hissed, but she didn't argue back. It would be to no avail. Not only was Steve in charge, but he was right. They did need all the help they could get down here. "At least send Thor instead. He can get Barton to safety way quicker".

It seemed before, Anaiah had completely missed her target. Whatever the man was, human or not, it was up and running around again. This time, as it ran, it was not missed. With frustration, Thor slammed Mlojinir and the ground cracked under its force. The man fell and, this time, Anaiah didn't hesitate to launch at it. She grasped at the two knives in her belt loop, flinging them at his sides whilst he remained at the floor. She didn't aimed to hit, merely to stabilise him. There was no way she could fight him, if he was on foot.

"Go. Go! I got this. Where the fuck is Stark? I'll take him for back up, go on ahead" She shouted out to no one in particular. It didn't go missed, Thor gave an accepting nod and flung Clint over his shoulder. The two shot off. That left Captain, Stark, Banner, and Natasha. But, Banner and Natasha were MIA.

"Cap didn't tell you?" Stark replied between odd breaths. "I'm a bit busy here. W-wait! The shield is down. It's freakin' down. Fuck yes".

"Natasha?" She brushed off Stark. He would be no help then.

"No can do. I'm sorting a code green" a reply came instantaneously. "It would help if there wasn't such a racket, by the way, guys".

"Fine. I got this. Go ahead Cap, go with Stark. He's going to need all the help he can get in that shit hole. I've got 18 years of experience on this bastard anyway" She huffed. Her hands wrapped around her bloodweep pistol.

"You know," Tony began sarcastically through the com. Unable to help himself, but when could he? "You call me stark so much you would think that I didn't have a real name". He raised his right hand, and detonated a grenade made by no other than Stark Enterprise. With a mere explosion, approximately sixteen lives were taken. "Whatever, I'm in here. Cap, are you far behind?"

Cap gave a reluctant glance in the direction of Anaiah and the superhuman. Leaving her was the last thing he wanted to do. If anything was to happen to her... But he couldn't think like that. He couldn't afford to let personal feelings get in the way of war tactics. "On my way," he returned, hoping on his bike ominously.

Serena jumped back slightly and moved out of the way and out of sight when she heard the blast from the grenade. She turned invisible as she saw the billionaire walk into the room. He was cloaked with a metal suit but she was keen on waiting for him to remove the suit. She was powerful but she wasn't powerful enough overcome a suit that could fire more than 30 missiles at one time. She walked with him unseen to the naked eye as she knew he would be going for the scepter.

Suddenly she heard a motor running and heard the 'vroom' of a bike behind her. She stopped and watched as the Captain rode in and parked himself next to Tony. "Thor took Clint back to the jet," he said as he dismounted the old piece of metal and he paused his speech as he looked at the scepter that was encompassed by a glass shield, "That thing just causes nothing but trouble huh?" Steve put his shield on his back as he approached it with Tony, but when he got too close, something hit him back.

"Woah...what the...?" he said but before he could say anymore he was punched into the ground by an unseen force. He wiped some blood off of his lip and looked around before turning his attention to Tony. "Another speedster?" he asked as he looked about for what may have hit him but he couldn't find anything.

Serena kept her distance when the Captain hit the ground and looked down at him as she walked to keep herself at their backs. "Are you two lost?" she asked in her thick Russian accent as she remained unseen. Steve looked around for a moment before looking up at Tony.

As Cap fell to the floor with a thud, Tony didn't wait a split second to defend. He raised both arms impulsively, and shot as many missiles as he could afford to waste. What was he shooting at? He didn't exactly know. He had no target, but it had to be close with the force that it had hit Steve with.

"Get up!" Tony commanded, dragging his friend on to his feet. Steve seemed a little groggy, but was fully conscious. Whatever this force was, it was definitely a supernatural unfriendly. The best thing they could do was run.

Deciding it was unsafe to declare their thoughts and plans aloud, Tony waited until his friend was stable. Then, using the element of surprise, he shot up from the ground with tight hold of Steve. Usually he wouldn't be so kind, but he didn't want to be held responsible for the death of the teams most beloved. He scanned the surroundings quickly, but there was nothing there. Damn, no time for dwell. No time to waste. If only he could have a look a little longer... just for the sake of science. He refrained himself. If they lost the sceptre now, then that meant another 6 or so months on the run and searching.

He shot through the ceiling, rubble hitting Steve. "Whoops. My bad," he said, without truly meaning it, and landed on the next floor. Steve groaned but said nothing yet. "You go, Cap" Stark commanded. Always commanding, like he owned the world. "I'll watch out".

Rogers seemed unsure. He had never really trusted Tony, because Stark listened to no one. He was cunning, and a bastard. If anyone was going to stab them in the back it would be the billionaire vigilante in front of him. What other choice did he have though? Nothing. He would just have to take a chance. "Fine" Steve nodded."Just... When you finally see it, eliminate it. Don't try to injure it so you can keep it as a pet Tony. We don't need anymore injuries".

"Copy that," Stark replied, shooting up again. Captain had already ran ahead whilst he had the chance. "Ana Banana, how's things?"

Ana shuffled her weight from one foot to another uncomfortably. There was no way the thing was dead, but it hadn't moved yet. "Well, it's definitely a human," she replied through the com. "It looks like one anyway". She kicked it, hard. "It's playing dead though. It seems to think that I'm stupid".

She didn't move her pistol from target.

"Well, aren't you?" Tony replied, a cheeky grin on his face. "Nice to know you're alive. Keep me updated. We have a superhuman unfriendly here too. It'd be nice to know what other creepy powers these things have".

Anaiah groaned. More? How many could there be. "Back at you, Stank" she accepted. Stank was always what she called her billionaire superior, since she knew how much he hated it. Stark, he would correct her, it's stark. There was no correction now. Everyone just wanted to concentrate. She watched the man in front of her warily. What other powers did this one have? "Tony?"

"Ah huh?"

"Don't get yourself killed"

"Copy that"

Serena watched as the Captain and Tony conversed. Geez the one in the suit never stopped talking. She knew a little about him but not very much. He was some kind of weapons billionaire who didn't know how to keep his pants on. Other than that she didn't know much.

She snuck herself over to the scepter and removed the glass casing ever so quietly as she listened to the Captain and Stark talk. She knew their conversation was wrapping up by the sound of it.

Pietro held his hands up as the girl aimed her pistol at him. He scoffed at her slightly. "You know I am faster than anything you're going to fire out of that gun," he taunted with a smirk on his lips, "What's your name sweet cheeks?" He kept his hands up as he got to his feet, trying to show her that he didn't have any bright ideas about escaping.

Anaiah didn't move her eyes from the boys rough face. Boy, he didn't seem like a boy. He looked like a man, someone who had been through a lot. Yet still, she couldn't help but thing of him as a boy.

Her hands remained on the gun, but her arms were shaking a little. She was fairly new to the whole fighting the supernatural sort of thing. Bad guys, she could deal with. Man, she kicked ass. This? This was something completely different.

He did the strangest thing. He didn't move. With his arms up high in the air, he approached her. She stepped back. It was better to keep space between them; she wasn't quite sure what he was capable of. It was a he, right?

What's your name, sweet cheeks? She scoffed upon hearing the words. He was so calm, so relaxed. It was as if he was trying to pick her up in a bar, and not being held at gun point. No wonder, as well. She supposed she'd be that calm if she could move that fast. Sure, she had the gun, but he was in the advantage. She had worked enough years to know what battles she could win, and this was not one.

Deciding her best weapon was herself, the one she had used to end many men's lives, she lowered the gun and steadied her arms. She found herself biting at her lip nervously. "Anaiah," her voice was soft but steady. It betrayed her, telling of her youth and inexperience. "What-" no, what was not the right word. "Who are you?"

Despite being so far away, Tony Stark had a very similar problem. He was fighting a battle that he could not win. Unlike Anaiah he would never admit that. Nothing was impossible to a billionaire vigilante. At least, that's what he assume.

He traced the hallways, ammunition at the ready. "Here kitty kitty," he taunted, "come out, come out, wherever you are".

Pietro stopped moving forward when the girl took a step back, but he remained close to her. She looked rather frightened by him or maybe it was his abilities but either way he knew he had found the weak link in the Avenger's chain if he needed it. She appeared rather inexperienced, too innocent to want to spill blood. Or maybe it was just because she wasn't used to those who had abilities. "Anaiah," he repeated in his accent, "Pretty name. I am Pietro Maximoff or some call me Quicksilver as well. Now please be a dear and put that pistol away. You and I both know that you won't shoot me and even if you wanted to you couldn't. So let's not kid ourselves."

Pietro slowly lowered his hands as he spoke but kept his same smirk on his lips. He knew that he needed to keep the rest of the team occupied and away from the metal man who had entered the main compound. Serena could hold down the fort in there as long as backup wasn't provided and if they didn't see him as a threat, chances were they may hang around and chat a little more rather than poking around where they didn't belong.

Serena stayed behind Tony as he walked around and searched for her. She scoffed when she heard him call her 'kittie' and she immediately moved and pinned him to the wall before making herself visible. Her hand glowed a bright blue color as she held it up to his face. "Do not move," she hissed at him as she was poised to shoot at any point in time, "Who are you? And what do you want?" Her eyes were intense and they glowed a similar blue to that in her hand.

Anaiah didn't know what to do with herself. If she put the pistol away, she was vulnerable. If she kept the pistol out, he was likely to attack her. Either way, she was in an unsteady situation. She had to take deep breaths and reassure herself. If he wanted to kill her, he could have already. That meant, for now, she was safe. She just wasn't sure how long that safety would last.

"Pietro," she allowed the foreign name to escape her lips. It felt strange to say, but it was just as attractive as he was. "Ty govoriš' po-russki? Wait. You are Russian, right?"

Her bare fingers traced the edge of the pistol before placing it in her pocket. Steve often scolded her for doing that. He said many men in the war had lost toes by accidentally knocking their gun when it was there. She figured if she was careful, she'd be okay.

"I would shoot you if I could. I'm not a child," she wasn't lying. Anaiah had never been a child. She couldn't remember anything younger than the age of 5, having been brainwashed by the industry. Yet after 5, she'd never experienced childhood. Everything in her life was combat orientated. "The thing is," she continued, her hand on her hips, "I can't shoot you. It'd be a waste of bullets. Bullets that I'm going to need, to save my pretty ass, when your little friends come for me. They won't be long now".

~

Of course, when the girl said not to move, Tony moved. He shot a missile, without hesitation, at the floor. It gave way immediately, underneath them. The landing wasn't too bad. His suit obviously could have done without the excess damage, but what else could he have done? At least, he was away from that crazy son of a bitch.

She glowed. Her hand fucking glowed. "I win the competition, Siren" he spoke through the com to Anaiah. "I've got a real-life human lightbulb". He doubted she would get the message. After all the knocks it had took, his suit couldn't do much now. The joke was more for himself than anyone else.

"You see. You had me right there" he taunted the new girl. "You could have done it. You could've killed me. Instead you shoot me some big fat chance to escape... like this is a Hollywood movie. I mean, come on. 'Don't move'? even James Bond has a better catchphrase than that".

He looked around to see where she had fallen, if she had fallen.

Pietro smirked and nodded to her as she repeated his name. "That's right," he said, "And thank you for putting that away. Those things only make situations complicated. And yes I am. You sound like you are from America though, no? Your accent reminds me of something from the west. It is enticing if I may say so."

He smiled and was careful not to make any sudden movements as he didnt want to frighten her. He clasped his hands in front of him before taking a step to walk around her. "You are not like the others. I can tell," he said making sure to keep his distance, "Tell me Ana why did they take you on their team if you had no special abilities?"

He smirked as she spoke about shooting him but he only let out a smooth chuckle. "You underestimate me," he replied, "You see I am quite the charmer like you are, sweet cheeks. I know you say that you would shoot me if you could but I can see on your face that that would pain you. I'm not just fast in my feet but with my thoughts and words as well. It's a side effect of the lab experiments that Hydra performed."

~

Serena winced as he shot ground out from under her and she fell to the floor. She scrambled out of the way of a few pieces of rubble before hiding herself in the shadows. She heard his suit clink as he hit the ground and she move to follow his steps. Her eyebrows furrowed as he tried to instigate a fight and he succeeded. Serena remained behind a pillar before shooting Tony's mask off with her glowing energy from her hands. She ran over and wrapped her legs around his neck to take him down before pinning him to the ground, her legs spread to pin his hands with her feet. "I said don't move," she said before holding a glowing hand to his face, "Who are you?"

It was impossible. Tony couldn't have prevented it, even if he wanted to. Before he knew it, the human light bulb had him on the ground with her legs wrapped around his legs. Kinky, he thought, amused, but didn't comment. He had to calm the situation first, there was plenty of time to make remarks later. Right now, he just had to make sure that there still could be a later. Living was a priority.

"Calm down, Kitty." He held his arms up, surrendering. "Why so quick to fight? Make peace, not war, and all that shit, right?" He paused, trying to suck in a long breath. She was kind of cutting out his oxygen. "How about we start from scratch. Hi, kitty. I'm Tony, what's your name?" Okay, maybe he couldn't control his sarcastic comments. What could he say? They just came natural to him.

~

A laugh trickled through Anaiah's throat. "Why indeed" she replied, her thick eyebrows raised. "Wouldn't you just love to know?"

He wasn't a liar. Pietro was most definitely a charmer. He was the kind of man she'd go for, if they weren't destined enemies. Natasha always said that she had a horrible taste in men, but what could she say? She liked the charmers. After all, didn't the saying go 'it takes one to know one'.

"Don't get ahead of yourself, darling". She said. Her hand rested on her belt, ready to pull out her gun if she had to. It wouldn't be much good against him, but he wasn't her only problem. "I've killed men as pretty as you, if not prettier. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. I think it's more like you underestimate me".

Serena kept him pinned as she searched his suit eventually finding the button that folded the hunk of metal back up. She moved back carefully and looked at him. "You have made war with me first by attacking my home. And I am not a cat," she hissed in her Russian accent, "So stop calling me Kitty. My name is Serena. Now the better question is: who are you?"

She tilted her head at him as she released him enough so that he could breathe without any problems.

~

Pietro smiled as she played along with his game. She was quite the charmer as well. She knew what to say and just how to say it. Rare in a woman. "Then shoot me," Pietro said with a smirk on his lips, "If I promised you I wouldn't move." Anyone who knew Pietro knew that most of his promises were never really kept. But he wanted to see what she would do. He wanted to know if she actually would pull the gun on him. "Besides sweet cheeks, I highly doubt you've met anyone so attractive or with silver hair," he commented.

He asked for it. Within a split second, Anaiah had pulled her gun from her pocket. She ran at him, pushing his back into a tree. Her arm raised, gun pointed at his head. There was no space between them. She should've have shot there and then, but didn't. Not because she couldn't, or at least that's what she told herself.

"You really doubt me, hm?" She said. A tilt of the gun, and a quick shot. She purposely missed, shooting the tree bark so very close to his head. "Trust me, honey. You're not special". She ran her hand through his silver locks. "I'd keep the hair though. It's a nice touch".

*

"Me-ow" Tony purred mockingly. "You know if this was a game in the bedroom, so far I'd give you a solid 9 out of 10. It would help if you were a little let violent and more you know what, though"

Serena, was it? In many ways, the human light bulb - yes, this was her true name, despite what she said - was alike to Anaiah. They were both always on the defensive, sassy and fierce. This one seemed to have a little bit more of an anger problem though. She was also a whole lot more attractive.

Tony had never been too keen on the name Serena. When he had travelled to Korea, on a small business trip, he'd met a sweet young woman called Serena. Unlike the one in front of him, the other Serena had luscious dark locks and beautiful almond eyes. She had been one of the best nights in his life. Serena, he wondered if this Russian beauty lived up to the reputation that came with her name.

"How about we skip the introductions and get to the better stuff? You know, the fun stuff," he flashed her a wink. She was obviously going to turn him down, and would probably give him a good striking for it, but she was distracted at least. Cap would soon have the sceptre.

Pietro smirked as she shoved him against the tree near by but he also couldn't help but smile. She had heart and most importantly she was fearless. He could have hurt her when she made the first move but she had enough confidence in herself to know he wasn't going to get away from her.

He listened as she spoke and felt her hand run through his hair. "I believe you, sweet cheeks," he said before moving as quick as lightning and pinned her gently to the tree, stripping her of her gun, "But I don't underestimate you."

Serena glare at him and rose an eyebrow in his direction. "You must be Mr. Stark," she said as he flirted with her, "You certainly live up to your reputation. The one that describes you as a giant pain in the ass." She tilted his face to look at her as her glowing blue eyes looked at him. "And trust me if I were in the bedroom it would be a 10/10. But I am not, unfortunately for you."

Suddenly she heard a faint sound as Cap grabbed the scepter. Serena growled and shot energy at him but he deflected it away with his shield. Serena moved away from Tony quickly and shot energy through his suit so it couldn't be used before going after the captain.

How amazingly movie like. Anaiah couldn't refrain from laughing out loud. She couldn't explain to him, if he asked why. He probably wouldn't understand. It was just his speed. It was very Edward Cullen like. It took every ounce of strength that she had to prevent herself from asking if he sparkled in sunlight.

He was strong. She would have to give him that. Strong and handsome, with a devilish smirk. Eyes that you could probably get lost in. No, she couldn't allow herself to fall out of her game. Although it was highly amusing, realistically, he wasn't Edward Cullen. She sure as hell weren't no whiny ass Bella Swan.

She wrapped her hand around his wrist, in an attempt to pull her gun back to her. It proved slightly difficult, given that she was stuck against a tree. Which was just as uncomfortable as you would think. "Pass my my gun, Pietro. I'm not joking" She moaned. It was hard not to feel like a child being teased by a good friend. Not that she had ever experienced such a thing, she had just watched a lot of American TV. Hence the reason for the American accent.

"Siren. You're needed. Now," Tony hissed into the intercom. His teeth grinded together. Pain, a whole lot of pain. That son of a bitch had electrocuted him or some crazy shit with that light bulb hand of hers. When the signal failed, he hit his suit in the chest. It didn't help. In fact, if anything, it just pained him.

"Great," he mumbled to himself. Now he was just as much at risk as the golden trio: Clint, Nat, and Ana. And, well, they had all seen how well that had worked for Clint.

He still had his missiles, then and his iron hands. That still gave him some power at least. He shot at the ceiling by Cap, multiple times so that it caved in. Then, since he didn't have a death wish and by no means wanted to be electocuted again, Tony shot the ceiling by himself.

A quick duck and roll meant that he could control the damage to himself. A lot of dust gathered, it surely would be easier to see with his suit. Beggars couldn't be choosers. Stark began to stumble the way he had entered, covering his face with his arm to keep away the dust. Once outside, the contrasting light to the inside darkness blinding him, he revved up Caps bike and decided he would give Rogers five minutes. Five minutes and then he'd drive around the back to find him.

Pietro smirked at her as he saw the look on her face. He knew he was handsome and a charmer. He could see it on her face that she thought it too. He smirked at her before releasing her hand and placing her gun on her hip. "I think it belongs there, don't you think?" he asked as he sent a wink her way.

But suddenly out of no where he was hit away from her with a hammer and it remained on top of him. Pietro growled and tried to push it off of him but it was no use. The thing wouldn't budge.

"I have freed you, Lady Anaiah," Thor said before starting over towards the enemy, "Now who are you?"

"Pietro Maximoff," he replied with a roll of his eyes, "Quicksilver for short."

Serena quickly gasped and dove out of the way of some of the rubble before making a force field to protect herself. She cursed quietly in Russian before looking around and found that the scepter was gone.

The captain quickly ran out before shaking his head. "You get the backseat, Tony," he said before moving stark back and hopping up in front. Serena quickly moved to shoot at the bike and managed to throw a few beams of energy at them but Steve meandered through them with ease.

Anaiah winced as Mjölnir hit Pietro square in the chest. That thing weighed... Ana didn't know what it weighed, but it was way too heavy for any of the Avengers to lift. So, she gathered that he had to feel like he was being hit by a large truck.

"Thanks, Thor," she mumbled, rubbing her arm where Quicksilver had grasped. Guilt, she couldn't help but feel guilt. It didn't make sense why though, he was the bad guy. He was just getting what he deserved. "Cap, has he got the sceptre?" She asked. Thor nodded. "And the other unfriendly, they're gone?" The same answer. "I'd say we leave him then. He can leave a message to Strucker. Tell him what happens when you mess with the Avenegers. If Strucker is even still alive".

Thor outstretched his arm, an offering to carry her back to the helicarrier. Once he lifted Mjölnir of Pietro, there was no telling what he would do. Usually, she would refuse, but this time she accepted. Her small arms wrapped around his torso.

Unlike Ana, who was enjoying her ride back to the helicarrier (who wouldn't when they were being escorted by a God?), Tony despised every minute of the bike ride back with Cap. Not only was it awkward, wrapping his arms around Rogers. He felt like every minute was an ounce of his masculinity gone.

He turned his head. There was no sight anymore of the human lightbulb. At first she had attempted to strike them, but had failed. Now, she would have to go and explain to her boss how she had failed. He wondered what would happen to her. You could say that, maybe just maybe, Tony Stark felt a little bit nervous for the woman. Strucker had had the sceptre for a long time, long enough to create more like them two beings - if he even had created them. He wondered if Serena was disposable. If soon her pretty little body would be lying lifeless on the floor. What a waste of such beauty.

Nevertheless, now they had the sceptre. Of course Captain would never agree and it would have to be done in secret, but Tony had so much more power to experiment with. Imagine the profit he could make from inventions the sceptre could form! Imagine the scientific breakthrough. He would have some help in the Avengers, he knew so much. Both Ana and Banner loved science. He could definitely persuade them that it was worth deceiving Cap for the good of science.

The Captain drove onto the jet with Tony before looking back at him. "Hey we've stopped moving you can take your arms off my waist now," he said as he looked back at the billionaire. He handed over the scepter to Thor as Natasha closed the jet up and started it up.

Clint was in the back as Banner tried to work on him gently. Clint winced as Banner got the bullet out of him. "Sorry buddy," he said quietly as he worked on him and gave him a bit of more of the aesthetics. Clint nodded gently as he tried to relax as Banner went to work and tried to think of his wife and kids back home. Geez she was going to freak out when she heard about this.

Strucker glared at the twins and ranted to them about how stupid they were. "I gave you one job: to protect that scepter and you two idiots go and screw it up," he growled at them. Serena kept her eyes low as Pietro crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. "We did try," Pietro replied, "Besides I didn't see you stepping up to the plate when things went bad."

"Pietro," Serena snapped and the boy shook his head but stopped speaking.

"You two are going to get that thing back," Strucker said to them, "By any means necessary."

Anaiah often sat alone after battles. Some were worse than others, and took more alone time to recover. This one hadn't been so bad. All she could think of though was that cheeky smirk, the handsome Russian, and his devilish attitude. Clutching her knees to her chest, she wondered what would happen to Pietro now. A victory for one team meant a loss for another, and with loss came severe consequences.

They couldn't exactly stop the plane now. She would hardly risk Clint bleeding to death to save a man she didn't know. There had to be something they could do. There had to be some way of saving Pietro, and the other super natural being she had not yet met. They weren't evil, she knew it. He could've killed her, but he didn't. What if they were like her? Maybe they too were taken as children and brainwashed into becoming a human weapon.

"Stop the plane," she said out of no where. "We need to stop the plane".

All eyes turned to face her, everyone looked like they had seen a ghost. No one could quite believe it. No expression was worse than that of Stark. His eyes were basically bulging out of his head.

"Have you finally lost it?" He hissed. His eyes narrowed. "We escaped a death trap right there, and you want to go back?" He was scolding her, but at the same time he felt like he understood. Something didn't feel right about leaving Serena in that death hole to rot.

Natasha placed her hands on her hip, turning from where she stood, by Clint, to face Ana. "What exactly are you proposing that we go back for?" She questioned, a little curious. "We have the sceptre. We've escaped with little to no damage".

"No damage so far," Anaiah corrected. She felt a little embarrassed, but she knew she had to admit, "when I was left alone with the boy, he unarmed me. He could've killed me. He had at least half an hour to do so. It probably would've took him a split second". She took a moment to snarl at Stark, who seemed highly amused at Ana Banana being defeated. "Don't look at me like that, Stank. What I'm saying is... Strucker has made two weapons. Right now, they have a chance to be corrected. If we leave them, they may prove to be a problem to us".

There was a silence amongst the Avengers. Even Tony had begun to wonder if perhaps she was not as crazy as she initially sounded.

"I don't know," Nat mumbled. "Going back would be pretty dangerous. What do you propose, Cap?"

Banner could hear the other's talking and he sighed. He didn't want to go back there and no matter what anyone said he wasn't hulking out again. He was tired of having to live with the curse and he wasn't about to just unleash it whenever the team called on it. He figured this time if they went back they wouldn't need him. They were trying to save two people, not destroy an entire city and that's really about all that the other guy was good for, destroying things.

Cap looked at Ana and listened to her. She was right. That boy could have taken that gun from her and with his quickness shot all of them without even batting an eyelash. But to his surprise he hadn't and just stayed put. He knew Hydra would find that out and as soon as they did the two kids would be dead. Hydra wasn't forgiving in nature and if he knew that the twins had to as well. "Yes but even though the boy didn't kill us the girl would have if she had gotten the chance. Tony managed to get her pretty upset," he said giving an annoyed look to the billionaire. He sighed quietly before looking at Ana once more. She was right though. They at least had to get the boy. He had spared them and it was only right that they give him a second chance at life.

"Well go back and try to get both of them but our main priority is the boy," Cap said looking at the rest of the team, "Banner and Thor will stay behind with Clint and the scepter. The rest of us will go in and try to get them."

The brutality of the Russian weather was really rubbing a nerve. Zara frantically shivered, as she followed Cap and Stark back to the vicinity of the twins. The winter snow was falling heavy. They couldn't see too far ahead. All they had to rely on was a shaken up Jarvis, who had not yet recovered from his defeat in Tony's prior suit.

"How far now, Jarvis?" Tony whined. Anaiah felt like punching him in the face, if she could punch through his metallic suit. He could hardly be as cold as she was, in that pile of junk.

"Approximately a kilometre further than when you last asked, Sir" Jarvis retorted. Ana snorted, amused. Stark simply shot at the ground by her feet.

"Try that again, Stank, and I'll kill you in your sleep," She hissed.

"If you even live that long, Ana Banana" He replied. She knew he was messing, but it still angered her.

"Do you think they've even stayed where they originally were?, Cap?" Ana asked. Her hand shielded her eyes from the snow. She hoped they wouldn't have to travel too far to find the twins. At least, she had been told by Stark that they were twins. Once they found them, they would have to set up somewhere for the night. Then, Stark supposedly new a man who could get them back to America tomorrow. He would have to live, for now.
