"I think it's near now. Not far," Caps voice came through the intercom. Anaiah rolled her eyes, her bare back leaning on the cold tree bark. It wasn't exactly the comfiest position, but she needed to get her breath back. They had been chasing this sceptre for months now, and it had all been dead ends. Every time, every freakin time, Cap had said they were near.
"I'll believe it when I fucking see it," she mumbled to herself, not audible for others to comprehend. Obviously, this wasn't missed by Tony. The man, who loved nothing more than to wind up his younger colleague, smirked. "What was that? I don't think we quite caught that, Ana" He said. His voice was a little distorted through the intercom, but she could still hear his snarky tone.
"Fuck you, Stank. Don't start me now," she panted, running once more. She ducked, hiding behind another tree. Twenty so bullets were fired her way. "Shit!"
"Language!" Cap scolded without a thought. A dry laugh escaped her lips. Of course, they were all fighting for their lives but god forbid they swear. Steve was too righteous. A laugh came through the intercom, and she didn't need to ask who it was. At least Tony found some humour in all of this. It wouldn't be hard for him though, she mentally dubbed. Flying in his iron suit made him invincible to the ground attack.
"Sorry, Steve" she apologised sincerely. He may be a little annoying, a little too righteous, but she respected him. Boss or not, Cap was a lovely man. The men he was striking down would say that was debatable though. Ah well. She thought he was nice anyway, and she never ever made assumptions on people. Her life had taught her that. People always deceived you. Trust no one. Steve was different though. Her brother. Well, he was like her brother. He had always treated her like the little sister that he'd never had, and was the sole reason she had joined.
"Just tell Tony to stop being a little bitch, and I'll be fine," she added.
There was no reply. On caps side on the intercom there was a loud noise. A deafening noise. Then a loud "shit" could be heard. Surely that was not... but it was. The famous Captain America had swore, doing exactly what he had scolded his sister off for.
"Language!" Her and Tony joked simultaneously, using his words against him. There was no reply. It was an obvious sign that he didn't find it as amusing as the rest.
"We have a code red here," Clint's voice could be heard. Strange, clint didn't often use the intercom.
"Situation?" Tony asked. No reply.
"Just get your ass down here. How fast can you get down here?" Clint answered at last. His voice was shaken. The words he spoke were so quick that they blended into one. Tony wouldn't be able to get down there yet, but Anaiah could. Tony had the GPS. He and Cap had to focus on breaking down the shield and getting inside. It was up to her to help.
Sliding her back up the tree cautiously, Anaiah pulled her boomerang dagger from her boot. She flung it at the black jeep passing. On target, as always, hitting the driver in the neck. The car swivelled, and crashed, but was not broken. She would use it to reach Clint as quick as possible. As she ran, crouched, to the vehicle. She noted the amount of men she had taken down with a huge grin. 35 men, in this area. That meant, overall, so far, she had singlehandedly killed 60 men. She had definitely won Natasha this time.
