The World

Vasadi - Paradise. This is the name that the Aer have given the world they inhabit. It is a place of sprawling nature, of wonderous flora and fauna, of beauty and danger. Plants and animals of all kinds grow to prodigious sizes, and the land itself is bountiful. From forest valleys to artic mountains, one may find nearly any biome in this world. Due to the danger that even a young Bosin (horned and armored buffalo that are often hunted for their food and other materials) can pose to a single hunter, much of the world is uncolonized - and that which is lives in peace with the other groups.

There is only one humanoid race within Vasadi - the Aer. Tall and graceful with pointed ears, they overcame adversity to establish their civilization, which thrives even to this day.

The Aer -- History

How the Aer came to be is a topic that has no answer. Some contend they are the children of some long-lost deity, while others believe they were born from the trees. Whatever the case may be, the Aer have carved a niche for themselves. The first Aer city, the capitol which still stands today, is known by the name of Ardyrmon. Built upon and outward from the side of a mountain overlooking a large valley, this is where the Aer got their start. Many generations of architecture and history have found their way into the city. Many take a pilgrimage from their homes to the temple of Argoth, the first Taelesol.

The Aer -- Culture

The Aer of Vasadi are ruled by a council of representatives, each from one of the major cities: Ardymon, Gelenoth, Fortham, Zokka, Naidari. While their laws are respected and followed, it takes time for issues and orders to arrive to and from their headquarters within Ardymon. As such, each city and the surrounding area is given immediate rule by their second who handles day-to-day problems and crisis control. Ardymon is also the place where those Aer chosen by Pandrylyr go to learn their craft - it is said that the connection between Argoth and Ardymon helps the young Aer focus and learn their powers and connections.

While many Aer learn how to hunt and fight, Taelesol are the heroes of the people. They, along with their bonded Pandrylyr, are as good as celebrities in every realm of the Aer. Trained in combat and Taelesol magic, creating and learning a style all their own. They train both to hunt creatures for the people and to defend them against the scourge of the Pasandrylyr

The Pandrylyr

Also called Dragonwolves, the Pandrylyr are one of the most wonderous of beasts in the land. They are strong and fierce, but kind and loyal. While the majority of Pandrylyr are wild (especially the Pandrylyr Soral, dragonwolves of titanic size) there's enough lines of dometic Pandrylyr that they are well-known.

When a Pandrylyr is born, there is always a chance that they will have a profound bond with a young Aer. This bond is unbreakable, and inevitably the pup and the Aer will find one another - and from then on they are inseparable. Pandrylyr are born with two-color coats, draconic or feathered wings, long flowing tails, and swooping horns. The specifics, of course, are unique to the individual.

Pandrylyr are also inherently magical beings, able to manipulate a single element of nature with their voice. They are intelligent beyond most other creatures, sharing a language of sound and body language that rivals the words of the Aer.

The Taelesol

Taelesol are the hero warriors of the Aer. While warriors and hunters are skilled in their own right, the Taeleol are held to a different standard. From a young age they will bond with their pandrylyr, a companion for life if there ever was one. Upon reaching young adulthood they will travel to Ardymon with their partner and fall under tutalage with a legend. Taelesol always work in packs - Taeleol trainees who arrive at the same time are placed into a pack together. They learn together, eat together, train together, and by the end of it, protect the realm together.

Taelesol children are also gifted naturally with the ability to manipulate the same element as their Pandrylyr. During training they learn to harness this ability as well as to learn a weapon, and how to handle these at the same time. By the end of training, a trainee will have crafted their own weapon and armor, and will be a master at mixing martial and magic.

The Pasandrylyr

Dark Dragonwolves - the enemy of the Aer. Bipedal mockeries of the Pandryler, no one is sure where they came from or why they hate the Aer. The only truth is that they are mindless monsters bent on death and destruction - they are often too powerful for even a squad of warriors, and they attack in large packs.

The attacks have been getting larger frequently....
