Lover of not you

Klaus Mikaelson has returned to New Orleans after his short stay in Mystic Falls which stirred up quite the trouble. His plan? To reclaim the throne which Marcel had managed to purloin. Of course, where one Mikaelson goes, the rest tend to follow so Elijah and Rebekah accompanied him. Seeing as Caroline was reluctant on joining Klaus as he concocted a plan to regain control of the pack of vampires in New Orleans, the hybrid felt it was best to leave everything he found at Mystic Falls there, including his feelings. Were they to relocate again after dominating this city? Perhaps. But of course, like all good long-term plans, nothing goes quite as expected: a new witch arrives and she's already making trouble on her first day. A young woman incapable of controlling her powers yet proving powerful could be what the Mikaelsons need.

b515a77eb984301fceada0fac3970df4.jpg
Klaus sauntered down the pavement, his arms swaying occasionally as his breathing became more laboured. All around, his ears picked up the soft pumps coming from each passer-by's veins. From their necks, to be specific. This hunger was driving him mad, he was exhausted from having to refrain from opening up humans in broad daylight. Why should he even be worried? He was an Original vampire, he was a Mikaelson, the Prince of Darkness himself. He could have compelled any witness of such an incident to simply forget, it would have taken fifteen seconds to erase the memories of the tens of people who passed him right now. But the answer was Elijah. Who did you think was right by his side right now? His brother tutted, scoffing as Klaus left his eyes lingering on one woman for far too long, it was not that he saw something he particularly liked, but he liked what was underneath all those clothes- and her flesh- and the nerves, mind you. "Well, great. You scared a local off and we've only been residents here for what? A few hours?" the hint in his brother's voice was so very vexatious, he was sure that if he switched off his humanity right about now, he would definitely not hesitate to rip off Elijah's head and detach his oesophagus.
"Enlighten me with an explanation as to why we're here instead of bothering Marcel." Klaus demanded in a low voice as the the pair parked themselves in front of a cafe.

The sign looked fairly new but the paint was chipped around the sides, the wooden letters making out 'Caffeine Hub'. The glazed window allowed them to see the different types of people sitting inside, in booths or at tables. Klaus could hear through the glass, the chatter going on, the brief moment of disgust expressed by a man who took his first sip out of his mug and the giggles erupting from a young girl as she ate a slice of chocolate marble cake. "You wanted to grow a reputation here in New Orleans again, right? Be where you were before. It's best to be known amongst the locals too, you just need to socialise and-"
"No." Klaus ended the conversation. "I have no interest in that sort of thing. Mixing in with humans? I'd rather suck the blooming daylights out of them." he stated. What he said made Elijah exhale deeply.
"
Just have a coffee, you can go hunting for your walking bags of blood later, when night falls and you won't be caught. Remember, they are now neighbours. Have some self control" he advised before pushing down the handle and walking inside. After those words came out of the dark-haired man's mouth, Klaus gritted his teeth. He really did regret bringing his siblings along for the ride. Elijah was almost always civil and sensible and even though he adored their younger sister, Rebekah, he had to admit that she was very clingy and over emotional at times. Klaus understood that she was lonely but letting her emotions get in the way of plans? That was the complete opposite of what Klaus often opted for: ripping out one's insides if he even felt a tingle of emotion associated with a person and their situation. He thought he played off the careless personality quite well, but it did sting a little when Caroline decided she would rather stay with her friends. That doppelganger brunette and those Salvatore brothers, that quite rude werewolf, that tenacious witch friend and of course the human. That was what she classed as a good time, apparently, with them, her 'family'. It was a shame really, he could have offered her so much more.

Klaus followed after his brother unwillingly, watching as he approached the barista to order their coffees. But to the hybrid's surprise, Elijah began to compel her. It was quite easy to tell as the bubbly blonde had lost her wide grin as she fell into the trance, her eyes locked on Elijah's as he spoke softly. "I want you to make us two flat whites, bring them to us once you are done. No charge." The employee was then released and she delivered quite the welcoming smile as she began taking out two cherry red tea cups. Klaus raised a brow, smirking as Elijah turned around, prepared with an excuse for his own actions, like always, "I forgot my wallet at home. And anyway, I compelled her, I didn't rip her body in half using my teeth." he rolled his eyes, fixing his shirt sleeve as he walked over to a spare seat in the cafe. His brother always seemed to dress like that; Elijah seemed to only have clothes fit for a funeral. "You don't need to defend yourself, but I thought we were going to blend in with this crowd. You could have at least used your natural charm to get us those coffees, but I forgot, you don't really have any, right? Is that why Katherine fled?" Klaus chortled, setting himself down opposite his brother. apolla apolla

New Orleans.

Arianna couldn't help but feel anxious. The little bubble of anxiety that had formed in the pit of her stomach upon arriving had only gotten bigger. Being in a strange place, not knowing anyone, looking for a woman who had given her up? None of it sounded like a good time to Ari, but she knew she had to do this. The strange occurrences were only getting stronger, and happening more frequently. She was terrified, and Tessa was the only person that could help her. Henry had begged Arianna not to go, had pleaded, even. Offered anything he could to get her to stay away from this city, and it broke Arianna's heart to go behind his back. But she was an adult, and had every right to know this woman. Arianna needed her help.

But there was no Tessa in the phone books. Nothing on social media, even googling her name had brought up a dead end. It was frustrating, but at least she knew her last name: Zabielski. It was one thing she'd managed to pry from Henry before leaving. So far, she hadn't any of his texts or calls, aside from the one text she sent when she got here to let him know she was alright. Even now, as her phone buzzed in her pocket, she ignored it. It wasn't like any of her friends would be wondering about her; they'd all distanced themselves. Or perhaps it had been her fault.

Having left her car at the hotel she'd checked into, she walked the streets of New Orleans. She didn't want to venture far, as she didn't want to get lost, but every street just kept taking her further and further into the heart of the city. She spotted a bookstore up ahead, and though the ones back home hadn't been any help, maybe this one would be. It was her mother's hometown, after all. She approached it, checking for hours on the door before pushing it open.

Dust that had settled on the door shifted as she moved the door, falling down like little brown snowflakes and causing her to cough. There wasn't anyone in the front of the store, but Arianna crossed the threshold anyway. At first, all she found were normal books. Just like back home. Fiction, non fiction, some kids books. Just as she was about to give up, her eyes landed on a curtain she hadn't seen before. There was a pentacle above the curtain, and she was drawn to the symbol.

Glancing around, still not seeing anyone, she stepped towards the curtain and moved it aside. This area was darker, lit up by a single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling. She browsed the tiny section, her eyes landing on a book that had a beautiful, looping script on the side of it. It wasn't a language she recognized, but she picked it up anyway.

She should have never opened it.

Opening it to about the middle, she froze as she saw one of the shadow creatures staring at her, its eyes wide and unforgiving. "Ex umbra animae viventis," she read from underneath it, thinking she recognized the language as Latin. But before she could turn the page, the curtain was whipped back. A large man stood there, his expression just as unforgiving as the shadow creature.

"What're you doin'?" He snapped, his eyes falling to the book in her hands. "This is a restricted area." He growled, reaching for the book.

Arianna didn't know what made her snap the book shut and pull it to her chest, shaking her head. "I-I'm sorry. I just wanted-"

"I don' care!" The man bellowed, practically lunging for her now.

Arianna flew backwards, knocking into a shelf and causing it to topple over. Without thinking twice, she dropped the book and fled past him, back to the main area. Looking down, she saw a familiar black smoke emanating from her hands. It thickened and wrapped itself around her in inky tendrils, also spreading out across the floor of the shop. The lights flickered as the man pushed his way back out after her. "Look, I'm sorry, but please-- I need to see that book." Arianna tried to control the smoke, but it was still going strong, even when she tucked her hands into her back pockets.

"Get out!" The man pointed to the door, sending another jolt of fear shooting through Arianna. The fear sent the smoke haywire, and it wrapped around everything it could like the many arms of an octopus. The man screamed as the dark shadows blocked his vision, sending him tumbling into a bookshelf just like she had. Arianna stepped back, glad the shop had been practically abandoned as she walked in. But surely the noise would draw attention.

But before Arianna could even make the decision to move, the lights in the place shattered, casting the entire bookstore in blackness.

"You know, I didn't have to come and help you settle in. I did it because we share the same blood and when the time comes, you do bail us all out. Rebekah didn't have to come either. And this is all you do, it was a mistake - Katerina Petrova. You won't let me forget about it, will you?" Elijah spoke, Klaus could spot the hint of pain found in his voice as he mentioned Katherine's real name, the name she was addressed by in Bulgaria. However, that did not stop the younger brother as he clearly pressed where it hurt. "Oh please. She played you and you fell for it with your eyes closed. How could you think that the dirty little trickster could ever feel anything for you? How do you think she managed to slip away from me every time? Her lies, diversions, she had a bloody damn kit. And to top it all off she used my brother. And don't make me the reason why you accompanied me. You came back because you had nothing better going on. And Rebekah came along for the ride because Mystic Falls couldn't offer her a boyfriend," he rolled his eyes at the very thought of an Original Vampire bawling their eyes out at the fact that they were alone. "I mean, how weak." After his last comment, the strawberry blonde barista appeared with their coffees, setting them down on the maple coloured table with a smile. "On the house, boys." On that note, Elijah thanked her with a brief nod, dismissing her before taking hold of the teacup's handle.

"Well, you wouldn't be saying that to Rebekah if she were here. You know, before any man she would lay her life for you and I, especially you. You should be grateful. And no, I joined you so that I could help you- not just with Marcel. We know that he is a temporary problem compared to staying in New Orleans long term. Remember, this will now become home again. I need to keep a close eye on you, we know how the only person to ruin things for you is yourself. And about love, Rebekah always did look in the wrong places, I never made the right choices myself, mind you. But Caroline, would you say what you felt for her was weak?" Elijah asked, taking a short sip from his coffee. Klaus took a whiff of the hot beverage and felt this urge to swing the cup onto the other side of the room. "Tsk Tsk. Day two without a drop of human blood and you could be mistaken for the homeless. You really should clean yourself up more." his brother advised, nitpicking at his current state. Klaus had to admit that he was not looking his best right now, all smiles had disappeared and he had his mind elsewhere- particularly on that seventeen year old boy who was reading from his English textbook. 'Yes, his blood would not only be healthy but fresh too.' he thought to himself, finally directing his gaze onto his brother before him. "I have an empire to fix and rebuild, Marcel had made quite a mess of it. I don't have time to groom myself." he sighed, deliberately dodging Elijah's question about what terms he and Caroline had left on. It was confusing when he thought about it because it seemed more like they were distant people of interest, the ideas of what to come of their romantic relationship were left open for discussion, well, he believed so.

Suddenly, a tumultuous sound was heard and upon swinging his head to face the glass window, Klaus found a black smoke emerging from the entrance of the bookshop from across the road. It received quite the attention from others in the cafe as even their attention was focused on the strange sightings of the dark vapour. "Is it a fire, d'ya think?" one woman asked her friend, but the Mikaelson's knew better.
"What does it seem like to you?" Klaus asked his brother as he turned around to face him, grabbing hold of his cup and taking a small sip of his coffee, he was amused with the situation, to say the least. Finally, some action.
"A witch." Elijah suggested, continuing to take his drink with an intrigued expression fixed on his face.

Arianna crashed into another bookshelf in her haste to try and find the exit. This one was more sturdy, and she just succeeded in hurting herself. "Damnit!" Cursing, she glanced over her shoulder, trying to make out the figure of the man who she assumed was the shop owner. Still unsure as to why he'd yelled at her like that, but not wanting to stick around and find out, she held her hands out in front of her as she tried to find the exit.

After crashing into two more bookshelves and a table, she was beginning to think she wouldn't find the exit. She could hear the man moving around, though he wasn't making nearly as much noise as she was. He was muttering something under his breath, something that sounded an awful lot like fucking witches gonna kill me...

Confused even more, but still unwilling to ask questions when she couldn't even see her hands in front of her face, Arianna faced forward again and moved. This time, she ran into something solid, but she could tell immediately it wasn't a bookshelf or anything that she'd seen in the store before. She felt hands grip her shoulders with a grip so tight she cried out in pain, but whoever it was didn't release their grip any.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" A voice broke through the darkness, and she could tell that it didn't belong to the store owner. "Marcel is going to want to see you. He's on his way, witchy dear. We have strict rules around here, you see. No witchcraft allowed. It's punishable," He leaned in closer, and she could practically feel his grin as he whispered into her ear. "By death."

Arianna stiffened, coming to her senses seconds later as the man grabbed her hair and started to pull her towards the exit. A scream tore from her throat as she was shoved up against the glass of the door. She could barely make out the light from outside, but she knew it was there. "See that, little witch? It's the last sunlight you'll ever see."

Klaus hardly cared for the situation before him, that a thick, soot-coloured gas was surrounding the book shop and causing quite the buzz between curious and concerned diners. After all, it was Marcel's rules, no magic whatsoever, so it was his problem. Well, so the hybrid believed. As he watched a young, blonde woman emerge from the bookshelf, seeming quite flustered, Klaus grew more interested. Maybe he put his cup down because his senses told him something would happen - or maybe it was because she had similar features to Caroline. No, their facial features were quite different, this woman's eyes were more azure than aqua but one thing stood out the most - the hair. Suddenly, Klaus' attention was diverted to the vampire who entered the scene, callously grabbing hold of the female. Through the glazed glass the Mikaelson could make out her screams and pleas for the bloodsucker to let go. Around the pair, people gasped and clutched their chest, people even cried to call 911. Now Klaus was never one to help, especially when the other was a stranger - but if Marcel wanted her, then Klaus had to have her. Before Elijah could protest and try to talk some sense into his brother, Klaus rose up and mumbled a few things to Elijah before dashing off. "Compel them all, I'm going after him." he stated. As he swung the door open, the oak smacking against the wall, he could hear Elijah calling after him. "Niklaus, wait!" but of course, Klaus would chase the very thing he was after: sticking it to Marcel and his clan of weak and technically dead creature-friends.

Upon confronting the other vampire on the streets of the city, watching as by-standers and pedestrians questioned what he was doing, dragging a woman by the hair, he bared his fangs and watched as they all ran, claiming that he was a monster. 'Elijah should get to them too.' Klaus thought to himself as he blocked off the path for the two. The other vampire gave off a baffled expression as he was met with the hybrid. "Niklaus Mikaelson?" he muttered under his breath, he seemed shocked but not so much that he would let go of the blonde, giving her the chance to flee. Then again, seeing as how Klaus and Marcel left things last time he visited, nobody would expect him to return. The hybrid smirked, edging closer towards one of Marcel's men. "So, you know my name. You know who I am, you should know what I am. What I did in Mystic Falls. Who the Mikaelson's are. You should know everything." he chortled. He watched as the vampire flinched a little, lowering his gaze as he nodded. "So let go of the girl." he stated, clenching his fists. The next thing which the unidentified vampire said made Klaus' made his face heat up with anger and grit his teeth.
"I only answer to Marcel." he replied, his grip on the girl quite firm. "She broke a rule. So she needs to be taught her lesson." Klaus scoffed, was he being disrespected? He was an original vampire for God's sake, he went through a whole ritual to trigger the werewolf within him. He accomplished all of that and he was being put below somebody whom he mentored in the past?
"Well, you're answering to the wrong person then. Because given a few days, your leader will answer to me." Klaus bellowed, growing closer to the vampire and his captive, the ring around his pupil becoming brighter as he was refraining from transforming.
"
Was Marcel right then? Are you growing soft?" the vampire questioned, wearing a sly grin. That was when Klaus could no longer control himself.
"You think you can take me? An Original Vampire, a hybrid, of over a thousand years? Why you-" the hybrid was ready to jump on him, maybe even rip him to shreds but was interrupted by Elijah sinking his fangs into the vampire's neck. A look of terror was clear on the vampire's face as he let go of the witch before clutching at his neck and struggling to breathe out any words. Then, Elijah's face rose up from his neck and he brought his hands around the man's throat, snapping his neck. Klaus wore an amused expression as his brother dropped the corpse, wiping the smear of blood from his lower lip as he shrugged. "Better me than you." was his explanation. Then, Elijah brought his gaze to rest on the witch, "We have a few minutes before he goes back to Marcel. We need to get out of here." his brother advised. Klaus nodded, before swinging his head to flick his gaze towards the cafe. Surprisingly, all the diners were continuing with their drinks and snacks, the atnosphere was once again quite lively. "Don't worry. They don't acknowledge us. For the next hour, they stay in that cafe."

Klaus was satisfied with Elijah's part in what went on. Maybe he was wrong, maybe his brother would prove useful after all. "Good. You did well. Anyway," he spoke in a low tone as he faced the wanted witch, "Marcel will be looking for you. But I can use that. What was your name?"

Arianna was confused. She knew there were people who were afraid of powers and whatnot, and then there were those who just lived in the dark. But this guy was clearly intent on hurting her, calling her powers witchcraft. The sensible part of her brain wanted to scream that it wasn't real, she wasn't a witch, but the more grounded part of her knew that what she'd been experiencing was pretty damn close.

Crying out as the man yanked her away from the door by her hair, pulling it open and shoving her out into the open. Freedom! Her mind kicked in instinctively, and she took about two steps to her left when she felt herself being pulled back, again by her hair. People were watching, but he didn't care. The sicko was enjoying the show of power as he pulled her back to him, a game of cat and mouse in which she was the mouse.

He started walking, pushing her along in front of him. Arianna had no choice but to walk slightly in front of him, her hands reaching up to try and untangle his fingers from her blonde locks. His grip was like steel, though-- she couldn't even move a finger. When someone stepped in their path, Arianna didn't notice him until the guy behind her pulled her closer, and he spoke.

"Niklaus Mikaelson?"

Confused further, Arianna finally looked ahead of them, spotting her first glimpse of Klaus. The guy behind her obviously knew him, but she didn't. Hot tears sprung to her eyes as the guy tightened his grip, nearly pulling her hair from her head. Klaus instructed the man to let her go, but he responded easily, dismissing Klaus' command.

Arianna stared at Klaus, her eyes pleading for him to help her. She saw his eyes brighten and gasped, momentarily forgetting about the leech behind her. She could see the anger on his face, and-- did he just say vampire?

She barely had time to register that thought before she felt the grip on her hair tighten, and then release completely. She scrambled away from the guy behind her, whipping around just in time to see Elijah pull his fangs from the guys neck. Her eyes widened in horror and she froze near the bookstore window, wincing noticeably as Elijah then snapped his neck. She could barely turn her head to look at the diner, but when she did, she could only stare at the patrons enjoying their meals. Not paying the ones across the street any mind.

When Klaus turned his attention to her, she slid her gaze from the diner to him. "Ari-- Arianna." She told him, swallowing heavily. "And you two are v- vampires?" She barely managed to get the word out, the horrified look still present on her face as she glanced down at the man's body. "Is he...?"

A devilish smirk appeared on Klaus' lips as he shook his head lightly, edging closer to the identified witch. "No, silly. Original Vampires. The very first. Well met." he stated. His eyes then averted to his brother who began to speak, the veins which were the shades of common onyxes had soon faded, meaning Elijah was back to his human-looking self. 'Shame, he always looks best when he's a mix of furious and peckish.' the hybrid thought to himself. "Actually, my younger brother here is also part wolf. Werewolf, that is." he informed, casually. Klaus playfully pointed to his brother and began to chortle.
"Right you are, Elijah. Yes, I'm the reason why hybrids are roaming around, some of the first I turned are actually in Hell, I believe. But anyway- yes. We're vampires, one of us has some werewolf in him. And you're a witch, right? If we're not mistaken. Or if Elijah isn't mistaken, I mean he did point it out. It's always the older ones that can tell." he continued the conversation before fully turning towards Arianna. He had never seen somebody look more baffled and shocked in their life. He had figured that since she was a witch she would almost instantly identify Klaus and Elijah as vampires and even know who they are just from glancing at their faces. How could she not be familiar with such a species? His playful smirk soon fell as he began inspecting her countenance and stiff body language, trying to add up if there was an explanation as to why she seemed so out of control earlier and frightened - aside from being attacked by one of Marcel's weak henchmen. "Don't worry, he's a vampire too," Elijah mentioned, "Give him a few minutes and he'll be back on his feet. To Marcel no doubt. Which brings me to my question, why on Earth would you use your powers out in the open and make a big scene, you had to expect somebody to come and fetch you while Marcel gave the signal to burn you alive." he inquired, lifting his shirt up by the fabric to allow some air to slip past his collar.

Then, the questioning was interrupted by a vibration coming from Klaus' trousers (no, not that kind of thing, stop, no. Get your mind out the gutter, jeez), it was his phone. Rolling his eyes as he pulled the device out of his pocket, he already knew who it was, and so did Elijah apparently. "Rebekah?" The text message notification displayed at the bright screen was indeed from their younger sister, explaining that she was bored at their home and so if the brothers did not return in ten minutes then she would make her way to them. "Ugh, I told you she was a cling. We need to find her something to do while here." he addressed Elijah before turning to the blonde. "Right - you, up on your feet. You're coming with us." he said briefly. Of course his brother displayed an expression which clearly objected to the idea. "Well, Marcel wants her. And as we have acknowledged, this will really piss him off. I never knew a plan could fall into place so shortly after we'd settled down."

The first man, the one the identified vampire had identified as Niklaus, slid closer to her and Arianna found herself taking a step back. She didn't have much further to go before she would hit the wall of the store behind her, but she couldn't exactly just stand there. The word vampire circled round and round in her mind. It wasn't a super hard concept to grasp, considering what she was, but a warning would have been nice. A warning for all of it would have been nice.

The term original vampire didn't infiltrate her mind right away, though she did recall him telling the vampire who'd had hold of her that he was over a thousand years old. That was interesting. And terrifying. Her eyes shifted to the other vampire as he spoke, though they immediately jumped back to Klaus as he let slip-- not on accident, it would seem-- that he was also part werewolf. "How-?" She began to ask, though her words were drowned out as Klaus kept talking.

Still reeling, she could do little more than nod as he asked if she were a witch. The older brother, Elijah, pointed out that the man laying cold on the ground was also a vampire, and not to worry, but to give him a few minutes and he'd be back on his feet. "Worried?" She echoed, shaking her head. Pointing to herself, she met Elijah's calm gaze. "This is me. Totally not worried."

He asked about her powers and she grimaced, not wanting to admit that she didn't have full control of them. "I wanted something. From inside the bookshop." She gestured back to the shop, remembering the scene from inside and sidestepping away from it, just in case. Casting a glance towards Klaus as he pulled out his phone, remaining silent as the two brothers conversed.

Then the tables got flipped and they were both looking at her. "Wait, what?" She looked between them both, having to agree with Elijah's facial expression. "I'm not going to be a pawn for you and this Marcel person." Shaking her head, she backed away from both of them, her eyes darting down to the vampire on the ground again. "I'll be fine on my own."

Niklaus scoffed, turning to Elijah who seemed quite amused at Arianna resisting to join them. Of course, he always knew it was never easy to get witches on board with anything. "You wanted a book so you make the shop look like it's going to spiral into Oz with a whirlwind of pitch black- whatever came out of you?" he questioned, crossing his hands. "We saved your life. You could hardly handle one weak blood junkie, obviously somebody fairly new to the scene- but anyway, how would you be able to handle tens of Marcel's men? Now it's not like I'm going to trade you for his throne, all I'm planning on is that he get's mad enough and you're free. It'll hurt more that his old friend broke his rule and harboured a witch." the vampire attempted to reason. This was the beginning of Niklaus' plan, to poke at Marcel's ridiculous laws and then finally seize control of the throne - somehow. All he knew was that it would not be too difficult seeing as everything that Marcel knows now, Klaus had taught him such things. Of course, this part of a much bigger plan would be so much easier if Arianna climbed on board. "We mean no harm," Elijah joined, fixing the sleeves of his button-up shirt, "Think of it like this - there will be more of them coming. This one-" his gaze fell on the vampire who was sprawled all over the floor with his neck twisted in a different direction, "-will just need the word to go out to the others and suddenly every vampire in New Orleans will be on the lookout for a blonde who enslaves the shadows and the darkness by raising her hand." The younger brother rolled his eyes, a deep sigh escaping his lips as he was unable to believe how Elijah was addressing Arianna, his attempt at reasoning with her seemed to possess more impact seeing as it was more dramatic. "All right, hold your horses. She's not that scary." he muttered under his breath.

"And-" The older brother continued without paying notice to Niklaus' comment, "- you are welcome to stay with us, we will offer protection and any necessities needed by a young, female witch. Trust us, we may not have the best track record but it's better than Marcel's. You need us way more than we need you."
"Alright! The new Mikaelson estate is not a hotel, stop offering promises that I have no intention in fulfilling." the blonde vampire demanded, before his attention was diverted to the vampire on the floor who was twitching, slowly coming back to life. "And apparently-" he mumbled quietly, grabbing hold of Arianna's arm with a firm grip before turning to face his brother, "- we have no time! Meet you there, brother." he called back as he dashed off, en route their home where their younger sister awaited for their return.

Klaus scoffed at her protest, while the other brother-- Elijah-- seemed amused by it. The stark contrast between the brothers was obvious, and it left Arianna feeling slightly rattled. Or maybe that was just everything that had happened, she wasn't sure. Klaus tried to reason with her, but she couldn't help but be wary of him. Both of them.

Though he did have a point. If it weren't for them, she would probably be dead right now, or damn near close to it. Her gaze flicked to Elijah as he spoke, fixing the sleeves of his shirt casually. The corner of her lip quirked up, though her gaze narrowed just slightly when Klaus muttered that she wasn't that scary.

Elijah offered for her to stay with them, and to be honest, that sounded better than the crummy hotel she'd found. She wasn't given much of a chance before Klaus stepped up beside her, gripping her arm. Arianna had just enough time to see the not-dead vampire on the ground twitch before Klaus zoomed them away from the scene.

Rebekah tossed her phone onto the couch beside her, noting the time. She'd meant what she said-- ten minutes was all they would get. Barely three went by before she heard and sensed her brother's presence. "It's about time!" She called, not even turning her head.

As she heard him approach, she looked over at her phone. "Three minutes. Impressive, brother." Pushing herself off the couch, she finally turned to face him. "I didn't come here to be bored, Niklaus, and I expect- who is that?" She stopped dead when she saw Arianna beside him, shamelessly looking the girl up and down.

Klaus arrived at their home, exhaling as he rested is hand on the door knob, the cold material meeting his cold skin, with one twist he pushed open the doors open to reveal a hallway. The floors were of made of merbau which complimented the purple and gold velvet flock damask wallpaper which Rebekah had actually chosen as it was inspired by a henna design she took a liking too. The hallway alone was vast, never mind the other rooms of the house, in the centre was a two way staircase and around that staircase, on the lower and upper level were rooms. The one closest to Arianna and Klaus right now was the front lounge, and judging by the light footsteps and movements he could pick up with his hearing, he knew Rebekah was in there, fixing her earrings with the help of the mirror above the mantelpiece. The hybrid gestured towards the blonde to follow him as he sauntered in, already met with Rebekah complaining about his and Elijah's lack of presence in their new home. As his sister continued, Klaus looked over at Arianna, shaking his head and rolling his eyes as he waited for Rebekah to stop, clearly showing how he most likely lost interest in what she had to say after she uttered her first sentence. Then, to his surprise, his sister freaked out, an amused grin then rested on his face as he vaguely explained. "This, is a guest." he stated, slowly. Rebekah clearly disapproved of the girl, maybe everything about her got on the vampire's nerves, her outfit, the shade of blonde she had and the fact that she was here, in the home of the Mikaelsons with Klaus. Then, following Klaus' prediction, Rebekah wore a psychotic smile, cracking her neck as she spoke. "Oh, I get it. I'm surprised you got past Elijah with this."

Raising his hand to stop his sister in her tracks and sort of guard Arianna, he spoke in a calm voice."Unfortunately, Sister, she is not to eat. And don't come any closer, she'll probably zap you with whatever she can control." Klaus warned, smirking. He just knew Rebekah would not be pleased.
"What?!" she raised her voice, an early sign that she would soon throw a tantrum. Then, picking up somebody treading on the floorboards of the hallway, which released a soft creak every few steps and holding heavier footsteps than Klaus and Rebekah, the hybrid was not surprised by his elder brother's entrance. "It's true. She is a witch and for now, she will be our guest - under our protection from Marcel and his minions." Elijah informed, joining his siblings and Arianna in the lounge. Klaus then turned back to find Rebekah grimacing and then speaking in an aggravated voice as she crossed her arms. "I will not condone this, we are not protectors of a girl who was stupid enough to use her magic! I say, and listen to me Niklaus, we throw her to the wolves. What use will she be to us?" she questioned. Of course, Klaus would keep Arianna in his home, away from Marcel but this was not his long-term plan. One mere witch would only interest Marcel for a while.
"
Actually-" Elijah chimed in, his hands placed behind his back as everyone's attention landed on him, "I mean, don't tell me it didn't cross your mind, Brother. A witch, playing for- sorry, with the Mikaelsons?" Klaus furrowed his brows and wore a questionable expression as he wondered what his brother was getting at. "With what? The powers she obviously can't control?"
Elijah shook his head, "
Because right now, whether or not we are Original Vampires, Marcel and his men will be able to waltz in here at any time since they don't need anyone's permission to come in. But having a living, breathing human? Or witch. Nobody can get in. Think about it. And Arianna- we can easily find someone to help you control and learn more about your powers. And we could also retrieve that book you found. All you need to do is-"
"I am not signing over ownership of the house to her. No, Elijah. We fight Marcel alone." Klaus stated. His brother grew a disappointed expression as his idea was crushed and rejected by his brother. He wanted to remain in control of the smallest of things, that included his home. "I told you, I believe I made it clear and Arianna too, understood. This is not long term. She can stay, like you promised but I don't need a rookie witch to assist us on overthrowing Marcel. No offence."

OOC: What if Arianna gets attacked (and then obviously saved by the Mikaelsons) in the night which makes Elijah press Klaus to change his decision, Arianna is persuaded too because she sees herself staying long term in the town, sensing unfinished business with the book and holding a feeling that there is so much more to discover. So, in the end, she receives ownership of the Mikaelson's home.

Arianna could barely register what was happening. Although strange occurances weren't uncommon in her life, super speed was not something she was used to-- mentally or physically. When Klaus came to a sudden halt in front of a door, Arianna stumbled, reaching out for the nearest thing to steady herself, which just happened to be Klaus' arm. Shaking her head, she drew in a shaky breath as he reached for the doorknob to open the door.

Releasing him, she followed him inside in a daze, her attention immediately drawn to the expensive and beautiful looking decor. Her eyes flicked from this object to that wallpaper, to the stairs and different doorways that she could see. Focusing on something other than how nauseous she felt helped ease the sick feeling, though she barely had time to realize that before Klaus was walking off into another room. Ari followed him to find another blonde girl in there, clearly irritated with the man-- vampire-- beside her.

Bristling slightly at the look of hatred the girl gave her, Arianna opened her mouth to snap something back at her. Before she could, though, Rebakah's smile grew slightly twisted and Arianna felt a trickle of fear run down her spine. As Rebekah cracked her neck, Arianna took a half a step back, wondering if she'd made a huge mistake. But just as her gaze shot to Klaus, she saw him hold up his hand to stop the girl, his sister as he called her.

"That's right." Arianna crossed her arms over her chest, raising her chin bravely. "So stay back."

Rebekah's eyes narrowed at Arianna, but then she was distracted with her brother's entrance. It didn't escape her notice that Rebekah wanted to throw her to the wolves, and Arianna knew she would have to watch her back around the girl. Lost in her own thoughts, she nearly missed Elijah speaking to her. "The book?" She questioned, remembering what had gotten her into this mess as she spoke.

Before she could say anything for or against his ideas, Klaus spoke, and Arianna felt her own irritation resurfacing. Though she had to admit that having their protection would be best for now, she didn't want or need it long term. Right? "None taken." She responded dryly to Klaus, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. "I appreciate the protection for now." She shot a glance at Rebekah, who scoffed and turned on her heel to fix her hair in the mirror. "But I won't be here forever."
