Do I look like I know what a JPEG is?
Whilst I started roleplaying about fifteen years ago on various sites and various ways, I haven't really been active for five-ish years. I'm looking to change that now as I've missed creating worlds and the stories that go on in them.
- I am nervous about jumping back into this. So I would appreciate someone who doesn't mind talking over things a little more than maybe usual and maybe give feedback.
- I have a hectic full time job where I am essentially on call 24/7 which can affect the time I am online/ able to reply. But I will be sure to let you know if I can see any delay!
- I am happy to chat via PM, discord, most other platforms if needed. I like to talk OOC. Plotting, planning and making friends!
- I live in GMT time zone but with my work, I am often awake at odd times.
- I am only comfortable roleplaying with people over the age of 18.
- Prefer using PMs over 1x1 threads but its not a dealbreaker.
- I only play original characters, and greatly prefer roleplaying with people who use original characters (not a dealbreaker if you're dead-set).
- I will reply at the very least a few times a week. Realistically on my days off I can fire out multiple replies but this will vary.
- I still don't understand that people mean by being literate or how long a paragraph really is. My replies depend on the story but will averagely range from 400-1500 words in length, if that gives you an idea. I don't expect a novel every reply, but a couple of lines that does nothing to move the plot forward is irritating.
- Ghost friendly, no hard feelings!
- I will play any gender or pairing. If I am unfamiliar with something I will usually look it up. That being said I won’t just play a certain role or gender because it’s what is needed for a romance. I don’t like forced romance.
- I like writing the grittier, gorier side of things. If darker themes are not your thing, let me know in advance!
- I'm not proficient in making threads look pretty, but I don't mind of that is something you want to do.
- Recently started not using character sheets and it's gone pretty well? So happy to forgo them. That being said, I am happy to use face claims and character sheets if that works for you.
I have stopped writing out an exhaustive list of plots and pairings as most of the fun for me comes from deciding this with you! So please have some idea of what you want when you PM me, I cant bear 'I don't know you decide'
Currently I am really enjoying:
- Cyberpunk - Anything involving cybernetically enhanced beings, artificial intelligence, mega-corporations and the decline in social order. I have a few worlds that are 'part-built' that we could adapt and mix in with any of the below themes.
- Vampires - I will almost always say yes to a plot that involves vampires. I can't help it. I do have an idea I am keen to do that involves vampires in a cyberpunk setting, if that's your kinda thing!
- Dystopia - This can be either totalitarian or post-apocalyptic, but I love plots that fight against 'the man' in one way or another.
- Apocalyptic - Surviving the end of civilisation or trying to live in the aftermath is always a challenge. I like dynamics of trying to rebuild a life from nothing, or perhaps the end of the world was used to our advantage? From scrambling through post-nuclear wastelands, fending off hoards of the undead in a last ditch attempt at surviving or fighting other-dimensional beings for their resources.
- Fantasy- Whilst I am enjoying futuristic setting and genres, I also absolutely LOVE a good fantasy world and plot. Characters thrust together to go on a mighty quest? Count me in! Warring kingdoms with all different kinds of beings and abilities? Yes please.
- The Supernatural- This could be mixed in with fantasy but I wanted to highlight that I enjoy using elements of the supernatural in most of my roleplay, whether its haunted places, spirits guiding characters or playing character that are vampires, demons or witches! I particularly like incorporating this into more futuristic plots.
I am often happy to try something new. So if you don't see something that quite fits the bill, let me know what you had in mind and we can see what sticks.
