So, I've realized it's taking me a while to update things around here. [Heck - haven't even gotten my own characters posted yet.] Just gimme some time to go through everyone's characters and add them to the list. Once that's done, I'll be able to let you all know more about when we'll start. [You'll know when I've reviewed your form - I'll leave 'likes' and/or other notes on there.]

Thanks for your patience!

So, after organizing the character page, I'm thinking 5 males, 5 females, then we'll start... And more people can still jump in afterwards.

If your character has been posted on the main post of the sign up page, then you've been accounted for. [if not, then you still need to complete your form further before being counted.] Anyone accounted for upon start up is welcome to begin playing.

I will probably post a form soon if that's okay. This role-play is great for one of my favourite characters so I'm really looking forward to joining. Quick question, have they been at the resort for a while already or are we also playing them all meeting up for the first time and going to the resort and everything?

You joining would be great; thanks. :) And that's a great question that I thought about clearing up on the main page, but (for technical reasons) decided I'd wait until when we start to post on the sign-up page. Anyway, you beat me to the punch and I'll stop being long-winded now, hahah. I'm going to say that the first 10 characters all know each other to some degree, via the resort. Anyone who joins afterward can be a 'new face' there.

I'll find some more eloquent way of wording that explanation later and still post it on the sign-up page for anyone who doesn't check here.

Hope that helped!

Sounds good, I'm just about to write my characters history which might take a while, but he should be up within an hour, if only as a WIP.

Well most people :P Greenithy and I are the only ones that have a character that isn't straight...

And now Snakeyem made a character that isn't heterosexual :P

That's fine, but still, we'll see how the characters interact when we start ^^

It's a more interesting character anyways

And holy crap you wrote a lot ;D;

I feel inferior now xD

Most of the characters we have so far are, but I assume that's because, well, most people are straight. I personally rarely do homosexual, pan sexual, asexual etc, characters simply because I don't feel like I ever do them right. Sexuality is a pretty key part of someone and how their life progresses so I always feel unsure about making them and when I do I almost always scrap they adhere to clichés.

I did write a lot didn't I? I kind of just wanted to explain him fully. I kind of love my character a lot. Normally I end up writing a lot less as I keep his past a secret which kind of means a lot less gets written about his past.

About struggling to write characters of different sexualities, you don't need to really change the character at all. Their personality doesn't change with their sexuality at all, they're completely seperate. It's pretty much a difference between, I think girls are hot, I think boys are hot, I think boys and girls are hot and I think nobody's hot. You just have to adjust which characters they notice and try to flirt with etc.

I agree with @KiwiKatz ... Keeps stuff interesting when everyone's different. And I like how @snakeyem12 specified romanticism... most people don't do that, but even some of the heterosexual characters are more on the aromantic side when you read their profiles.

My characters are always hetero- or bisexual (with a recent 'heteroflexible' who I guess I'll round in with bi)... And I've only got a number of bisexual characters [4 fems and 2 males]... The RP needs more males than anything, as well as some ethnic diversity, so even working that out within my own charries is...slim. Slim slim. lol

We shall see as more people join, though, I guess.

IMPORTANT NOTE

I'll be updating the main page in a moment, then I'll post for us to begin. [Or, well, you guys, hahah, until I get my character(s) situated]

@Volfy Yeah, I guess that makes sense, but even if you don't feel you're playing the part completely correct, you're at least trying, yes? The purpose of role playing is to put yourself in someone else's shoes and play it out through their eyes, develop their history and personality as a basis and go from there, it's often for fun, to put yourself in the life of an imaginary character and do what you think they would do. It can also be a nice escape from reality, to live in an imaginary world, see something through another's eyes, be it completely made up or partially/completely true. Plus the more you play a character like that the better you get, and the more you play with a different character the more you may grow to like it and want to play with it more. Besides, if anything it keeps things interesting, ya know?

@snakeyem12 Well, really it depends more on the character, itself, I'd say. If their sexuality is a big part of their life then it would impact personality a bit more, perhaps a character was bullied for being LGBT or perhaps they're a complete homophobe. Some ridiculously catholic family could have raised their child to be afraid of LGBT, or hate LGBT. This is where the past comes in with their sexuality, and why that's also a key part in creating the character (I'd imagine so, at least) :P

@Aato I could make another character, perhaps? I'd be glad to ^^ I'm used to handling many characters in roleplays :P

@Aato I generally don't specify romanticism, but especially with the exact history I gave him this time I thought it was kind of important.

@KiwiKatz I guess you're right, that would definitely have an effect on the character. I was mainly pointing out how it doesn't have to be a large part of their life, although you are right, it definitely could be very important to them.

I appreciate that, but you don't have to unless you absolutely want. ( :) )

@snakeyem12 Yeah, I totally understand where you're coming from ^^ I'd just imagine that in most situations it might :P I'm Bi IRL and I'm occasionally picked on for that (although due to issues with my relationships with others it's scarcely bothered me) and I have 3 friends who rode my bus who are LGBT (One gay, one lesbian, one other bi) and I'm not sure if they knew I was bi or not or if it mattered to them but the people at the back of the bus would always throw stuff at us(including: gum, broken pencils, paper, pretzels, nuts, random trash, etc.) and harass us... So there's just an example from real life, there. :P

@Aato I would like to anyways xD need to get in another interesting character or two, yeah? But it takes me practically forever to make forms, so bear with me here lol

Oh god! Everyone posts to quickly for my sluggish mind to keep up.

I'm in full favour of making all sorts of different characters since that's pretty much why I got into RP, to, as you say, see the world through another's eyes so to speak. I was just saying I personally find them tricky since I do think sexuality does play a part how people are. Discrimination, feeling like your different, not knowing if you normal etc, all of these things are stuff that can happen to someone of a different sexuality other then herosexual.

In other words I like doing them but just feel like their not.....actual characters, rather bland cut outs, or I end up the other side of the coin and their suddenly all edgy and massively over the top. Anyway, looking forward to starting this, it will defiantly be interesting seeing how all these characters mix.

@KiwiKatz I'm Pansexual and I think the reason I thought differently is because I'm in England and all of my friends are some form of LGBT and I'm out to all of my friends and my class of 30 and I've never been bullied. England is a really accepting country. The only one of us who's been bullied is my trans friend and that's only by a few horrible people. I'm just used to growing up in an area/community where being LGBT isn't different or strange and I occasionally fail to remember how lucky I am I have grown up in an accepting area like this.

On another note, how come I can easily write 2000 words in 1 hour 20 when doing a character sign up sheet but it takes me about 2 hours to do 1000 word essays for school.

And I'm leaving in roughly an hour because I have to go to work but I'll be on later tonight

@snakeyem12 Because writing a character sheet is much more fun (At least in my opinion xD )

alright, guys, be prepared for a prissy, popular, homophobic chick xD And probably a gay black dude who's always felt out of place :P one of them will most likely have a mental disorder, too.

xD well the girl is just gonna be the stereotypical popular chick (Kiwi style)
