Luna has always been someone who knows what she wants when it comes to the academic aspect of her life. As an overachiever she always works as much as possible to get the best scores possible, it's a drive for her to be at the top at what she does. It also helps her avoid thinking about her own emotions and stop the insecurities from seeping inside her busy mind.

She doesn't avoid social interaction with people, especially strangers, but it is unlikely for her to initiate it unless she knows it's going to be of use. She is really methodical, and trusts her guts and logic when making a decision, if she could, she would have every second of her life planned out, to keep track of, and always be on top of things. To those who somehow manage to surpass the cold walls of her heart, they will find a sweet and caring person, who always tries to know as much about you and your interest as, also someone who's quite the music nerd, amongst other quirky interests she has.

Clarisse Garnier gave birth to Luna on a rainy night on the 9th of August. Her father, Haitao Zhang, was a successful lawyer, who was currently in Beijing attending some business. This was later reflected in the absence of her father in her life, she saw him as a man that some random days between the year, he would visit with some flowers for her mother, and a couple of head pats for her. Clarisse always made sure that Luna had something to show her dad, any sort of achievement that would make him proud. There was always some reaction yet it was just the bare minimum for a dad.

She also had an older brother, Thomas, who had always been the family outcast, physically "imperfect" under their parent's eyes, since a genetic anomaly lead to an operation where he lost his left arm. he was always working on arts, let that be some doodle or a full-on acrylic drawing. Luna soon became his inspiration and she would pose for him, their mother would always tell them off, saying Thomas was distracting Luna. Yet the female was always fond of her brother, giving her a reason to not only take care of her mental health but also find the feeling of vocation.
When they moved to London when she was 12, she decided to attend judo classes, with the motivation being her willingness to be to strong enough to protect her big bro. Her parents were at first uneasy with this, but as they saw her progress and ability, they pushed her further, until she became the national champion of her category twice, once again unconsciously developing her drive to succeed .

She was 18 when it happened.
It still feels like a blur. Her brother wanted her to celebrate a proper birthday and so, for once in her life, she broke the rules, Luna went with her brother to a club and had the most fun she had ever had since she was a kid, finally getting a chance to feel the music and discover there was more to study in the world.

The bus home. The giggles. And just like that. A crash. Then the world was dark.

She remembered waking up in the hospital, with her parents by her side, and with terrible pain in the left side of her ribcage and clavicle. And then, just at that moment, she was told the news.
"Thomas didn't make it"

It took a year of continuous therapy for the female to finally start improving, the physical wounds were mostly healed, but her mental state was fragile and her body severely trembled at the thought of her brother. Her mother visited at the very beginning, and slowly, those visits were less frequent, until they were practically gone.

Luna was the only one to attend Thomas' funeral.

the female had never felt such a strong hatred for someone, how dare her parents not even think about their dead son? Her blood boiled in frustration, she was going to determine her own life from now on. Starting off, she dyed some strands blonde, knowing her parents hated hair modifications, and additionally, she got a minimalistic tattoo on her ribcage in memory of her brother, a red human heart with blossoming flowers just below the scar she had from the crash. Storming into the house, Luna, finally let all her emotions out, she cried, in frustration, pain, in pure heartbreak about Thomas' death and her parents' absence. After seeing this radical change, her mother took a moment before whispering "out", those were the last words they ever exchanged

Currently, Luna still maintains a competitive attitude when it comes to studies. She had to quit judo for a better focus on her grades, and since she stepped in, she has been acing the exams, positioning herself in the top charts and ranking of her year. It has been a while since she was emancipated from her parents, but it wasn't a struggle for her to enter with a full scholarship to the prestigious university.

She spends most of her time in the library, studying or learning new things to feed her own curiosity. She knows that Thomas' would've liked to see her enjoy the uni life, but for now, her main goal is to graduate with aced scores, to prove to herself that she is capable of being just as or even greater without her parents' help. Lu has still made a couple of friends, some were lost along the way but she has formed a really close bond with two girls who remind her from time to time to not burn herself out.
