Set in Busan, South Korea, there is a cafe called the Paper Crane Café. This café appears to be a rather average one, not standing out anymore than the one across the street. However, looks can be deceiving. Once you step inside this cute café, you will be greeted by a shy, yet energetic girl. Her name is Min Hee. She's the granddaughter of the owner of this café. Though her grandmother became ill two years earlier, so the twenty year old has been taking care of the place ever since. You will be seated at a table and will be given a nicely put together menu for this café. With waiters and waitresses helping you, taking your orders, and delivering them, this café seems to be much more homey and warm than most. Though that's not the only thing you will experience at Paper Crane. At this cute and popular café, you will find that you can actually live there! Yes, Paper Crane is not only a café, but also a boarding house. Though you don't live in the actual café, you live in a building behind the café. Pretty unique right?
The boarding house has been going ever since the café was opened. The manager of the boarding house is Mrs. Baek, who still over sees the financial side to the café and boarding house. Min Hee is second in charge and helps keep the house in shape. If you are staying at the boarding house, it means you are either very close to Min Hee or Mrs. Baek, you're a worker at Paper Crane, or you have been going there for a long period of time. Of course those who stay at the boarding house must pay monthly rent which is handled by Mrs. Baek. Everyone that stays at the Paper Crane eats dinner together every night. That means if you are at the house you have to come to the main dinning room in order to eat dinner. This is something that Mrs. Baek came up with so that everyone could become friends with each other.
Living together in such a unique environment is something that these people haven't experienced. Whether you're a young woman not interested in being good at all or a doctor who honestly knows he's all that, you find a happy medium. Everyone finds a way to mold together, creating relationships that will stay with them forever, even if they don't work out. That was the main goal of Mrs. Baek. To create a place where people don't have to feel any pressure from their family or lives and are free to live comfortably with people that are in the same boat as them. This is why Paper Crane was opened. This is why Mrs. Baek and Min Hee are there to help everyone through their troubles and help them experience the wonders of good friends, family, and a home they can truly feel at home with. So how about it? You interested in moving in?
