Hello everyone! I am back, once more! After a prolonged hiatus, I decided to try my hand at roleplaying again, so here I am. Either way, the mood to write is back at an all time high, and thus I'd love to get down to planning - and writing - with whoever's interested! I'll lay down some information about me as a writer and what I expect from my partners, some basic rules, general interests and some plot ideas. Hope you enjoy!
And that's all! I hope it wasn't much to read, but if you got through all of it and are still interested, I'd love to get in contact. Till then, I'll be waiting!
- Basic information about me, my availability and other important tidbits.
- I'm 22 years old, and thus I prefer to play with people around this age or older. I'm a bit uncomfortable about playing with minors, the limit being 16; don't let this be a discouragement, but do keep in mind that I'll be a little more reserved.
- My writing mood is iffy sometimes. While this doesn't mean I'm never in the mood to play, it just serves as a heads-up that sometimes, I'll just not have the energy to reply to a play. That is not to say I've lost all interest altogether!
- English isn't my native language. That said, I am prone to weird wording/grammatical mistakes/bizarre sentence structuring, something that I actively seek to correct in my writing. If something escapes my attention, though, don't be afraid to point it out!
- I love to communicate! Whether it's just OOC chatter, RP discussion or giving heads-up about schedule changes, I'm all for talking. I know not everyone is as outgoing with chatting on the internet, but let this mean I'm approachable and willing to listen.
- On terms of availability, you can expect, at the very least, one reply per day from me. That is subject to change depending on the length of replies in our RP, but it's a good way of exemplifying my post rate.
- I am 100% onboard with LGBTQ+ sexualities, identities and themes. I may not be familiar with some of them, but they're all welcome.
- I am not my characters. This serves to avoid any sort of conflict in case our characters are hostile or unpleasant to one another.
- Basically what I expect in my partners. It's, however, in no way meant to be seen as some sort of filter, but rather a way of knowing if we'll mesh well.
- Good grammar is always preferred. While yes, I am a non-native speaker and thus prone to making mistakes, I expect the same from my partners. Everybody slips up from time to time, but garbled text isn't helpful.
- Communication is key. I've addressed this on the 'About Me' section, but it's always good to reiterate. I'm always open to criticism and to discuss our plays, so don't feel intimidated or held back!
- Be creative! Don't be afraid to voice your ideas, suggestions and additions to the world. Whether it be character-wise ideas, worldbuilding or just suggestions for the future of the play, I'm more than happy to hear what you have in mind. This is meant to be collaborative writing, after all!
- Post length isn't a concern as long as the posts move the story forward. Not every post has to be a novella, after all, and there are scenes that simply call for more dynamism. Quality over quantity, as long as it manages to be meaningful and keep the plot moving.
- In this tab I'm linking my character catalogue. It's essentially just a thread where I post my OCs (those with sheets, anyway) as well as what sorts of settings they are better fit for writing in, be it themes, plots and even fandoms. As an extra, there are some canon characters I am generally interested in playing as, for the sake of variety! So check it out; maybe a plot or setting might not grab your attention, but a character can! Here it is:
- Here are listed the settings I prefer. Do note that worldbuilding is a great passion of mine, so in all settings that aren't historical, they'll need some level of previous discussion to set everything in place.
- Fantasy: Worked to the bone, I know, but I'm always a bit of a sucker for fantasy. Whether it's the more 'generic' High Fantasy with its medieval worlds crawling with dragons, magic and orcs to the more somber lands of a Dark Fantasy, I'm all for it, as long as we add some originality to them.
- Post-Apocalyptic: Another genre that is rather overdone, but I'm still up for it. Zombie and nuclear apocalypses may be the usual go-to when in this genre, but I enjoy exploring other types of world-ending events, drawing from examples such as Frostpunk and The Long Dark, for instance.
- Historical: I have very few exceptions for this genre, mostly Modern Europe (1600s-1700s). Other periods, though? I'm all game for that.
- Sci-Fi: Anything within this genre goes, to be honest, but I do have a preference for 'early exploration' sorts of stories, or things based on unveiling the great mysteries of the universe rather than focusing on big interstellar conflicts.
- The 'Punk' Genres: For those not familiar, the 'punk' genres often fall into sci-fi, either revisiting the past (like Steampunk and Dieselpunk) or imagining the future (Cyberpunk), while giving great emphasis on the relationship between man, technology and the environment, delving into political themes and exploring all manner of conflict that would come from worlds that advanced.
- Cosmic Horror: A genre of horror that, instead of focusing on gory violence or gruesome imagery, puts into the spotlight the fear of the unknown and the incomprehensible, often stemming from ancient god-like creatures and other entities that dwell in the darkest/more vast places of the world. This can be fit in any sort of world, from Victorial era worlds to galactic civilizations digging a bit too deep somewhere far away, and everything in between!
- Crime: Now, look, this isn't exactly what may come to mind. I genuinely abhor romanticizing criminal life and mafia themes; I like to explore how it affects those involved not only directly, but also by proxy, as well as the reasons that lead people to delve into this sort of work. If you want an idea of what I want to explore with this, GTA 4's themes serve as a good example.
- Simply put, all of the fandoms I'm interested in roleplaying with! I will say that I rarely play canons, so don't get your hopes up with that. Those in bold represent the ones I'm more interested in.
- The Elder Scrolls.
- The Fallout Universe.
- Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra.
- The Fallen London Universe (Fallen London, Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies).
- Star Wars.
- Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer.
- Chainsaw Man.
- Mad Max.
- Warhammer (Fantasy or 40k!)
- Darkest Dungeon.
- Jujutsu Kaisen.
- Game of Thrones/A Game of Ice and Fire.
- Dead Space.
- Mass Effect.
- Resident Evil.
- Dorohedoro.
- Ideas and/or plots that I'm currently interested in. As said in my previous tabs, however, none of these are set in stone or required to play with me!
- A somber, thoughtful journey through an unknown world. This one is a bit of a vague concept: essentially, characters embark on a journey beyond the borders of their known lands and into a world that is dangerously alien to them. Whether it be a world in its infancy, a world torn by war and an apocalyptic event, or just young members of a shut-in community breaking the boundaries of their culture to get a taste of the outside, it's meant to be a story of finding not only the truths about the world, but also finding themselves, engaging with a world that grows less and less empty the more they explore it...
- A saga in a classical fantasy world. Not classic as in 'traditional medieval fantasy', but referring to the historical Classical period. Imagine Conan the Barbarian, just less focused on never ending war and drawing more inspiration from existing cultures and empires from the time. Great empires rising from marble and stone, champions watched by the gods they venerate, who receive powers unimaginable, sorcerers seeking the forbidden mysteries of the world... this is mostly meant to be accompanied by some level of worldbuilding, but I'm looking to write some interesting adventures, that can range from political intrigue, epic wars and quests to save the world - or toss it into darkness.
- A Space Opera-like adventure through the stars. Inspired mainly by No Man's Sky' aesthetics and themes (as in, a more optimistic outlook on sci-fi, colorful and full of mystery, very much drawing from 70s/80s sci-fi aesthetics), this would likely revolve around explorers blazing through a lush, colorful galaxy filled with majestic species and great empires. The goal of our characters could range from trying to save a dying civilization, to simply unveiling the answers to all that there is around them. Meant to be really whimsical with its themes and characterization, with also some drops of mystery and philosophy as the characters discover more about the universe around them, their history and perhaps even their own future.
- A Fantasy adventure with magical cataclysms. In a kingdom still recovering from a magic related incident (be it a rebellion, an mere accident or some sort of interdimensional invasion), the rulers' heir is born with untold magical power. Fearing backlash from the nobility and the common peoples given the powerful anti-magic sentiment in their realm's society, the rulers seek a mage to aid them in either suppressing or, at the very least, controlling these powers, lest the kingdom fall into chaos from the scandal. The mage, however, is shocked to realize that the heir's power is unlike any seen in the last centuries, a symbol of a coming age of magic...
- A Crime Drama, set in a burgeoning metropolis filled with danger. Inspired mainly by GTA 4's storyline, this aims to explore the underbelly of a great city: mafias, brotherhoods, crime syndicates and the dirty police that keeps them afloat. While it is more of a free-form idea so far, I would love to explore the consequences of crime, police brutality, immigration, and other heavy, but very current themes.
- A Magical Girl tale. Essentially a story where a number of girls (or people of whatever gender, I'm happy to play with whatever here!) are blessed with extraordinary magical abilities and are fated to defend the world, or perhaps the universe, from destruction for malicious forces. The only difference is, well, that the chosen are utterly inexperienced and hopelessly clumsy with their new prowesses. Was this a mistake by the higher powers, or just a plan to make sure those blessed with their powers are made invincible by hardship and struggle?
- A Solarpunk adventure. The world ended... but humanity survived. Despite the utter devastation brought upon the world by climate change and other cataclysmic weather events, humans have endured, albeit with great loss of life. From the ashes civilization has returned: in isolated but highly sustainable communities, whether those be sailing the seas, roving the deserts on walking cities or making a living out of the remaining green areas. Still, as they grow and find ways to revitalize the earth, contact is reestablished, and old conflicts may arise, just as the new technology may bring humanity to its dream of sailing the stars once again.
- Something Mecha-based. I know, I know, this seems rather redundant, considering the existence of media such as Evangelion, Gundam and Armored Core, but I have been growing a little fonder of this genre. Specially when played at Brigador's angle (check it out, it's an interesting game!), something about it just tickles my creative and writing bone. That said, I'm down for writing a mecha-oriented story, mostly focusing on terrestrial/planetside mechas, either as mercenaries, warring factions and everything else in between. Mechas with more than one pilot? The exorbitant expenditure (and environmental impact) of fielding such wonders of engineering? Duels in vast, hostile environments? Sign me the hell in.
- In this tab, you'll find a long list of words related to interests, tropes, settings and other concepts that I adore to write. Consider this a major collection of sorts, without dipping too deep into a specific plot to allow us the most amount of freedom to write and create. Words in bold represent a particular craving or just something I'm more available to than the rest.
- Adventures, historical, horror, cosmic horror, modern day, apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, enemies to lovers, opposites attract, cyberpunk, steampunk, atompunk, solarpunk, fantasy, dark fantasy, sword and sandal, survival horror, crime dramas, mafia, combat, intrigue, magic users, romance, the supernatural, small town mystery, world exploration, magical people, sci-fi, fandoms, forbidden romance, mechas.
