Born in Guangdong to a lower middle-class family both of them lived a hard life. Oftenly, there is nothing to eat but a bowl of rice porridge and chopped leek with soy sauce. But they are alright with that, as long as they are together as a family. Unlike Li who's really smart and serious, Ji took things carefreely. He oftenly went out with his friends, or dating with a girl he currently interested in.


At their 2nd year of high school, the Wang twins left for a school trip to Shanghai and was spending some time in The Bund when the Kaiju, codenamed as Boulder, appeared out of the water and started it's rampage. Li was walking around with some friend where Ji was slacking off in a cafe, and the twins set out to find each other.


When a Jaeger arrived to combat the Kaiju, the twins reunited and ran toward the safe zone together. They watched from the sideline as the Jaeger pounded his iron fist into Boulder's face, destroying his head and killing the beast. The twin cheered, but soon turned into confusion as they are unable to find the rest of their classmates. Turns out, the entire class took refuge in one of the underground bunkers. An unfortunate bunker that got destroyed during the fight, leaving the twin as the only survivor of the accident.


Together they swore to take down any Kaiju's before they could reach the coast.


Personality: Carefree, a man who likes to flirt with pretty much anyone he sees. Very friendly, with that personality of his, and have plenty of connections and quite a celebrity. Rarely take something very seriously, he likes to skip practice or sneak out of the shatter dome to town. However, when he's drifting he will become serious and aggressive, furiously fighting the Kaiju in front of him with anger. Many people thought that it was influenced by his sister, but Li denies it.

Her smile is just as rare as a Mark 5 Kaiju. But truthfully, she's a shy girl who did not have many friends because she's always busy working.

Riptide also has infrared sensors located in the head of the Jaeger to help locate enemies and allies if visual sight is not enough. Jet boosters located in the heel of the Jaeger give an extra boost when jumping or running. Riptide also holds two tesla blades on either arm.
