They say I'm caught up in a dream
Overview
The setting is somewhat alternate modern styled. Imagine a world where there's been an unseen war between humans and vampires raging on for centuries. Vampires are unknown to the majority, and now suddenly your specific city has imposed a very strict curfew. The police of your city (all are NPCs who seem to have no information to offer) walk the streets at sundown ushering people to hurry to their homes and escorting them once the streetlights come on. Most of our story will likely take place in the evenings and nights (if not the catacombs), so it should have a darker feel to it.
Your government higher ups have joined together in treaty and compromise with the higher ups of the night to try and coexist. You're now living in the first city to give this shared living a try, though the majority of the human public has yet to be informed. There will obviously be ulterior motives and corruption throughout this deal and here you are in the middle of it all. This small city has an old style feel with cobblestone streets and buildings with wrought iron fences and elaborate high arched doors and windows. People tend to walk, bike or trolley from place to place though cars are not uncommon for the upper class. Cell phones and computers also don't exist in our reality. Wall phones and libraries are what your characters will know instead. Long distance traveling would be done by boat.
I'll add a few main points of interest to make things easy!
Central Square; A hotspot for foot traffic with multiple coffee shops, cafes, flower, produce and pottery stands. Many narrow streets and alleyways web out from the square running in between businesses, hotels, and apartment styled homes like a maze.
The Cathedral; The large multi-story church with giant stained glass windows and heavy wooden doors that only seems busy on Sunday mornings. This is a corrupt place where much foul business is conducted in secret chambers, etc. There is a library that holds ancient books, scrolls and artifacts inside as well.
The Catacombs; These are the intricate and endless "caves" that web under the city. They make up an unseen vampire city that's unknown to the humans except for very very few higher ups, the suspicious vampire hunter and human slaves that live there (NPCs). Many vampires have mansions here that serve as second homes or retreats from the surface. It is accessible through vampire's homes and other random locations, like the library, cathedral, abandoned mansion, etc.

NPCs are necessary to make the play world go 'round. From the clerk at the grocery store, to the late night partier your vampire's sucking dry. I do expect you to and to be able to handle introducing and disposing of characters such as those. NPCs are fair game. If you introduce one, any other player is allowed to also use that character. If you want a more detailed and personal NPC, like your character's parent, best friend, ex, etc. that no one else can use, feel free to create a simplified profile by using the character sign-up sheet (use only the information you desire and include a photo or detailed description) and submitting it via the "Neutral Characters" tab. If anyone else has permission to use that character, please list them in the "Other:" portion of the character sheet.
If there's an important update or detail that everyone needs to know during play, I'll post it under the "Main" tab in the first post. I'll also make a note at the top or bottom of my character post in the play itself to be sure no one misses it. If you need me to make an update for you (if you're going to be away or if there's a crucial point you've added to the story) let me know!

• Romance and violence are strongly encouraged for story and character development. No gore please, I have a weak stomach! (Blood is fine - no chopping people up in detail. *barf*)
• Try to post daily, a good paragraph or two minimum. Literate and serious players only. No short term poofers. Do not post photos in each of your posts. If you have something you need us to see, link to it. Do not tag other players when you post either.
• If you need further explanation, read the detailed rules in the rules tab at the top of the page. If you break a rule, you will be referred to that specific page.
• When you post your character sheet in sign-ups, add, "I will post often. I will not poof." somewhere outside of the form, or you will not be accepted and will be referred back to the rules, character requirements and detailed rules.
