Don't say that you hope you're too late! We're a lovely bunch, I assure you!Oh wow. Didn't realise how far behind I was in this process, I only found the interest check yesterday. Hope I'm too late.
I have a crafting area guardian named Shiki that makes books and scrolls, Marx is an armorsmith, I could have sworn someone was a weaponsmith, and Loop is an alchemist. Crafting is not nonexistent.Inb4, I'm actually kind of tempted to make a NPC for one of my characters now just to make the first crafting focused char. Unfortunately, I feel that I can't handle 3 chars at the same time.
I was initially not going to list a lot of my character's abilities, thinking that it wasn't necessary since Overlord isn't all about fighting. But then I saw everyone else's powers and felt like I would be a weakling when we get to the fighting bits of the rp.If I may give my personal opinion, y'all are a bit too obsessed in matching prowess. I mean, I get that it's nice to compare characters and stuff but I feel that this is starting to reach the level where pretty much the whole guild is combat focused.
Those are some very interesting thoughts. That said, I do think you are forgetting one detail: The reductions in dodge chance were an in-game representation of Loop's ability to control time. So even if dodge chance isn't a thing in the new world, Loop would get something like outright striking into your past self. It's hard to do an entire segment on her and lay out the math since she's basically four different characters, but I can lay out what I think would be her battle results and why. Since I'm not going into the math, I'll try to be pretty descriptive about why and how she lost or won. (though, it ended up being about the same as the others in terms of descriptiveness)
I also think I need the mirror's effect cleaned up a bit, I was quite confused on how that would work and what it did. I just assumed it permanently sealed off two major attacks the opponent could and would use against her by reflecting them.
Matches (Game)
Matches (New World)
- Loop vs Marx: As stated previously, Loop is not capable of the DPS needed to fell Marx and his super regeneration and the fight would be a one-sided slaughter. Might need to be reevaluated when Destructus Kloud nerfs the regen, but I still think even then it's just a bad match up where Loop is at a huge disadvantage. Steella Loop kind of counters Marx, but not enough to make it count without the aid of consumable items which I haven't been factoring into these matches.
- Loop vs Rain: As stated previously, I think Steella loop would trample Rain if his Noble Fighter counted to her scissor's anti-noble effect.
- Loop vs Cain: For once, I think Cain would actually win as long as he's not trying to get off his Ultimate shingding and sticks to the basics, avoiding using attacks that would one shot himself due to the mirror. It all depends on what he can tank of his own attacks.
- Loop vs Gelzorn: I really feel bad for Gelzorn. I really do. This guy hasn't won a single of these match ups.
- Loop vs Percival: I also feel bad for Percival, she isn't meant to be 1v1
- Loop vs Valyire: I should really just stop putting these three in here.
- Loop vs Hoshiko: This is a 50/50 fight, with a lot of reliance on how the two were programmed to fight. Due to the way Hoshiko was coded to fight, I believe this to be Loop's victory, if not just barely.
- Loop vs (Revised) Andrina: Andrina has a lot of ways to deal Holy damage now, and thus is Loop's bane. Loop tried to keep distance as Bloodie Loop and failed to do so.
- Loop vs Mekuto: 50/50. Should Mekuto get close, it's his win, but if Loop manages to keep his distance the battle goes to her.
- Loop vs Brahxir: Brahxir vs Loop is honestly questionable - Brahxir, in essence, is supposed to be countered by Loop, but due to the sheer amount of ways he can dish out DPS that doesn't seem to mean much. I'm going to call this Brahxir's victory, though.
- Loop vs Marx: Loop is now capable of thinking to run away. Hopefully she does, though her childish stubbornness she shares with Hoshiko might keep her from doing so.
- Loop vs Rain: No significant change, though Loop fights a bit better and Rain is probably - for some odd reason - not as capable of dodging.
- Loop vs Cain: Loop might get creative and manage to stop Cain's running, making it possible to enter close combat. Cain still is more likely to win, though, as the possibility of Loop getting creative enough to do that is slim.
- Loop vs (Revised) Andrina: No change, Loop should never try to fight this battle.
- Loop vs Mekuto: Once again, Loop isn't limited by her coding any more, so she'd likely be able to fight a bit better.
- Loop vs Brahxir: Still super iffy.
- Loop vs Hoshiko: This is where what I said about New World being horrible to her in these match-ups really comes into play and rears its head. Let me be blatant; unlike the Game, in the New World Hoshiko completely destroys Loop without taking a single hit. There is a way if Loop gets creative to damage Hoshiko, or if she spams a certain attack, but this match-up will always end in Hoshiko's victory. Let me explain the reasoning:
Loop's main weapon against Hoshiko was the dodge chance reducing effect, and this allowed her to keep a level playing field accompanied by the mirror's effect sealing off Purifying Javelin. Hoshiko's AI wasn't exactly able to think up things she couldn't do, so she mainly had to rely on her dodge chance and block chance stats to mitigate damage. Now in New World, however, if it's not a skill, magic, raw stat, or item effect it is invalid. Not all YGGDRASIL systems apply in New World, and many are modified if only slightly. From what I've observed in the novels - and this is supposing dodge chance was even a thing in YGGDRASIL, to which there has been no evidence - dodge chance is one of those systems that are not a thing anymore. You are required to move your body on your own, and thus dodging in New World would just be called moving your hitbox out of the way instead of being recognized as a dodge. Thus, Hoshiko with an agility of 130 is completely and totally untouchable by normal means. This is why I said "all chances of winning a straight up physical fight with her have probably shriveled up and died." The only attack in Loop's arsenal that could do enough damage reliably to get somewhere is Reality Slash, and that's stated to be ridiculously costly in terms of MP. It's highly unlikely that Loop would be able to cast it enough to kill Hoshiko before Hoshiko and her Einherjar slaughtered Loop.
And Loop also sells cosmetics and weak itemsLoop is an alchemist
Fair enough. I'd most certainly make a different kind of char tho, probably a new world pharmacist or smt like that.I have a crafting area guardian named Shiki that makes books and scrolls, Marx is an armorsmith, I could have sworn someone was a weaponsmith, and Loop is an alchemist. Crafting is not nonexistent.

Proposal: Instead of making a character like that, how about attempting to befriend/capture/control an NPC from the actual new world if the plot allows it?Fair enough. I'd most certainly make a different kind of char tho, probably a new world pharmacist or smt like that.
Don't say that you hope you're too late! We're a lovely bunch, I assure you!
It's perfectly possible, though as I said, there would be a few things that would be required to be Loop's creator. You said you were looking for someone to be the creator of Loop? I had someone who was going to be my NPC but it seems like they've gone dark, wanna team up with me? I'm pretty sure Marx can fit the father-figure role if we're going that route. : )
What I meant by lock is that it would be pointless to use an ability that is just going to get reflected every time it was used. Also, doesn't that mean that it could potentially block more than the two attacks if her opponents used a more powerful, different attack every exchange since the new attack would one-up the old one reflected? I just think the item's description could use a lot more words, because as it is right now it can be interpreted in many different ways and isn't even clear if the reflection could be used more than once on the same attack. Those are some very interesting thoughts. That said, I do think you are forgetting one detail: The reductions in dodge chance were an in-game representation of Loop's ability to control time. So even if dodge chance isn't a thing in the new world, Loop would get something like outright striking into your past self.
Oh and about the mirror, it doesn't lock the ability. What it does is, when Loop is attacked with any attack that would deal either more damage than any other with which she was attacked with during that fight (or the most damaging after that or an instant-death), the mirror basically flips the the attack back at the opponent automatically.
I asked Mekuto if we were going to get to make new world characters and didn't get an answer.Fair enough. I'd most certainly make a different kind of char tho, probably a new world pharmacist or smt like that.

That's pretty much what I'm planning to do with Rain, since he's well known for liking to travel around the world and seems to be a completely normal human at first glance.Proposal: Instead of making a character like that, how about attempting to befriend/capture/control an NPC from the actual new world if the plot allows it?
Yeah, it can reflect more than two attacks. Part of the strategy to fight loop is to buff the first two attacks as much as possible to prevent any more attacks from getting reflected by the mirror. So let's say:What I meant by lock is that it would be pointless to use an ability that is just going to get reflected every time it was used. Also, doesn't that mean that it could potentially block more than the two attacks if her opponents used a more powerful, different attack every exchange since the new attack would one-up the old one reflected? It is just lore, but what do you think the new world is? Sure, many game elements remain, but their lore become real. For instance "shooting star", an item which previously had gamey-type effects in the new world actually grants any wish barring that which is stopped by a world-level item.I wasn't sure, so I just took the assumption that the striking past self was a lore bit. Honestly, the only match-up that really affects is Loop vs Hoshiko, and while that certainly opens a possibility of Loop winning I still think it's heavily in Hoshiko's favor. Hopefully the two sisters won't have to fight though, that would be horrible.
Well, her creator would have to be:Feel free to elaborate so we can work things out~ : D

... Carrion's always an option, if that's all you need. He didn't have experience programming before YGGDRASIL, but it might be explained by him gaining experience from making Hoshiko's stuff. I'd rather have the two be from separate creators, though.Well, her creator would have to be:
*someone with a theatrical or cinematic flair, the kind of person who'd pay more attention to the show than necessarily the effectiveness of the NPC that is Loop
*someone with experience programming (since for it to work at all Loop's AI would have to be incredibly complex, even for an Yggdrasil NPC)
(these two led me to originally plan to make her creator a CGI programmer working on movies or anime [or anime movies])
*someone who'd be interested in making a little girl as an NPC
*someone either into ironical contrast or a little masochistic or both
so yeah, kind of a bit specific. Though if you think you can work that out into your character, I'd be more than happy to be your creation, supreme one!

To be fair, names with "Ain" are fantasy-ish af.Rain
Brain
Ainz
Cain
Frost Pain
Well, Overlord's conquered the "ain" sound I see
I prefer "ryl/rel" for fantasy names, tbh.To be fair, names with "Ain" are fantasy-ish af.

Perfect! Well, then, we'll say Marx is Loop's creator. Tell me if there is anything maybe you'd like to see progammed into Loop or into her floor when I post the WIP*He has theatrical/cinematic flair, why else would he choose the class that dives in the way of danger to save others? For the glory! I think this would definitely carry over to Loop as well.
*I had no predefined irl history for Marx anyway, so him having good programming skills works for me.
*27 and has no kids of his own (hasn't met the right person), so perhaps it's time for a change of pace? It'd be easy to say he had always wanted a little sister as well, and I can't think of a reason why he wouldn't want a little girl NPC. If anything, a little girl is the ultimate person to protect and Marx is all about protecting people.
*I chose the class that always puts themselves in the way of incoming painful things and Marx himself has a strong pull to shoulder the burden/pain of others, so the masochism part checks out. Ironical contrast? Massive mountain of a man brute that exudes indomitable force + a small little girl that looks as harmless as can be. I think he can definitely appreciate the irony in this duo.
That work for ya, my perfect creation? ^o^
I think three seconds is a good number, yeah.I can't wait to stunlock some fools. >; 3
What are we saying the average stun time is, 3s?
