The Alean Galaxy. 31,63,0401.
Long ago, the Galaxy resided in a peaceful golden age of intergalactic empires. The most numerous empires were those of the humans, dwarves, and orcs. In this age, life was bliss. The humans didn’t exactly have empires, they were more corporate. The entire species unified into corporation-empires, private military, mining, etc. Swimming in money. The dwarves found their bliss in hollowing their planets and living underground in blissful ignorance of the surface world. However this lead to them sharing most, if not all, of their planets, only to benefit the dwarves for easy trade and protection. The orcs lived industrial lives, constantly honing their skills in smithing and construction. The humans gave the orcs the title of; “The Galaxy’s construction workers.” out of a compliment. Aside from immense construction, the orcs were also heavily interested in mercantilism. Causing the humans and orcs to be business rivals, only a friendly rivalry that would benefit both species.
However, this golden age wasn't made to last forever. With empires of reason and logic came those who believed in spirituality and religion. The Grand Theocracy's of the Elves, Dark Elves and Insectans declared war on those who didn't worship their gods, or didn't worship at all.
The dwarven empires dwindled down to two rival empires, the Iron Mountain Worlds and the Golden Mountain Worlds. Humanity was pushed to the farthest corner of the galaxy. However, the orcs had a chance, theirs were the largest and strongest empires. However, their empires were torn apart in wars that would shrink their empires drastically.
All seemed lost. Humanity was out of luck, the orcs had lost hope, and though the dwarves were near extinction, they remained stubborn little bastards.
However, deep within the oceans of the human worlds, an ancient race of wise beings had awoken. At first glance, these beings were tentacled and multi-mouthed monstrosities, but they meant no harm. One of these beings was human in appearance. This being seemed to be the leader of the strange ancient race, they called him Oa'di'nous. Odin in human tongue.
Odin had a fatherly love for the humans. He'd care for, nurture, and rule them while punishing but correcting those who commit misdeeds. Odin had restored the human empires, and even saved the two dwarven empires from fighting each other. Odin had given humanity the Sight of the Eldritch Truth. The ability to see into the future, see the outcomes of certain actions, and seeing all knowledge that can be. Every human had, and had to, replaced their eyes with arcane-mechanized ones. The more "eyes" you had, the more wisdom and Eldritch knowledge you'll be able to see.
With their reformed empires, humanity struck back against the grand theocracy's. The insectan empire was diminished into the smallest center of the galaxy, the dark elves were deceived into worshipping an anomaly that only certain humans could see correctly, the Jermanian Black Sun. And this made the elves turn against the dark elves for heresy against the elven gods.
A new golden age had started. Humanities empires united under the banner of the Great Union of Humankind, turning the old empires into provinces. A hierarchy was formed to replace the old governments. A hierarchy of immortal, but not invincible, Arch's was created. At the top was the greatest Hierarch, Odin. Below him were the Matriarch and the Patriarch, the best all seeing ones in the entire union. Both genders see different things that only that gender can allow them to see, according to the Eldritch Truth. Below them were the Monarch's, those in charge of governing the union. Each Monarch isn't allowed to have a spouse or a family of their own, so they can focus on the benefits of the Union. Below them are the Primarchs, super-human soldiers who are the lord generals of the Union's army, the Franzguard Brigade. Although the provinces, once-empires, have their own unique regiments, uniforms and tactics. Along with all of these, human lifespan expanded to a minimum of five-hundred years, and a maximum of one-thousand years.
This golden age, like the other one, wasn't going to last either…
Within a province named the Lostlandium, two of the three princes of Monarch Merrin Rivlium, queen of the Lostlandium, had been corrupted. Kharin Rivlium had let his lust and perfectionism control him, becoming a Vampire. Corrupting his nation of followers as well, creating the Blood Courts. Mardicain Rivlium had let his bloodlust and evil intent control him, becoming the first Demon. Like Kharin, he corrupted his nation of followers, founding the Horned Monarchs.
Their hordes had destroyed and displaced countless human provinces and planets up to the Lostlandium. Most of the newly formed Lostlandium nations had forgotten about the Great Union, thus it's no longer an official province of the Union. The technology of the Lostlandium had strayed from the Union standard, along with this, they started lacking in all-seeing ones. Soon enough, they had created their own culture and technology. Their eyes would still be arcane-mechanical, but it wasn't the amount of eyes they had that would represent status, it was the color. Their technology had taken a different path, (for lack of a better description, their tech looks like the Grineer’s from Warframe. Someone look up grineer and describe their tech here). Most of their original soldiers have been killed by or have become demons and vampires, however, a few chapters of elite knights were formed to counter the vampire/demon hordes.
Those chapters of knights were: The Hospalian Red Cross, the Merrionian Crimson Lancers & Merrionian Tigers, Merrin's Knights of Rivaria, Rivarian Golden Serpents, and the Rurrish Red Crusaders. However, the most notable, benevolent, and respected chapter of knights is Reon's Glory Riders. A chapter of knights formed by the last loyal prince, prince Reon Rivlium, a chapter of knights determined to vanquish the demons and vampires, and defend humanity.
Reon’s Glory Riders were extremely important to the survival of the Lostlandians, for the Lostlandium was divided into smaller empires. Thinking that the Lostlandium was the last section of the galaxy the humans had. These empires were also at war with each other, causing most of the knights chapters to fight each other more than they fought the demons and vampires. The empires of the Lostlandium were: Rivaria, home of Queen Merrin. Hospalia, home of Queen Natashin Morrintevla. Merrione, home of king Arrin Virlnetti. And Rurrey, home of king Lerrin Arintou. With most of the Lostlandium at war with itself, Reon’s Glory Riders only had two enemies. The vampires and demons. However, due to the creation of the demons and vampires, humanity had to refrain from malevolent actions. Some call humanity the harbingers of artificial goodness. Because of this, Reon’s Glory Riders have the ability to forgive, redeem, demons and vampires who seek redemption.
But it wasn’t just Reon’s Glory Riders fighting the hordes of evil, an organized/well-funded & supplied militia, that lost count of how many soldiers it had, stood as the front line against the forces of evil. As the rest of the knights fought amongst themselves, the militia was formed to take on the real enemy. Because of this, several planets have seceded from the empires of the Lostlandium, and have committed their human and planetary resources to the militia and even forming their own regiments. The most notorious of these are: Pacifia, a land of great oceans and tropical jungles in the eastern hemisphere and great plains to the western hemisphere. Bresekia, an icy wasteland with most of the life being underground, and being the only Lostlandium world within the territory of the Horned Monarchs.. Euroundeam, a planet of rolling hills, morning fog, roads of cobblestone and the most advanced technology in the Lostlandium. The rest of the planets supply only Militia standard soldiers.
The knights and militia tended to dislike each other. The knights for the fact that militia’s full of inexperienced citizens thinking they can take on bloodthirsty demons and vampires. The knights would constantly remind the militia’s leaders about how wrong it was to send unprepared civilians, by the millions, to war against demons and vampires. The militia hated the knights, and the Lostlandium nations, for the fact that they ignore the real enemy and fight amung themselves. The militia was more militaristically advanced than the knights. The militia had more tank and artillery gun variety, and countless whole fleets. However, the soldiers tended to have sub-par equipment and weapons, they also fought in dreaded trench warfare. But that doesn’t mean that the soldiers were complete cannon fodder, they’re good at what they do.
During all of this, the orcs were forcefully united into a khanet, then betrayed the humans and dwarves. It wasn't the choice of the orc people, but the corrupt government that caused a civil war. Their leaders either despised or sought to enslave humans. With their brutal army, they stood a chance against the arcane might and fearlessness of humans. However, many of you think the orcs are mindless, warring brutes. You are horribly wrong, the elves are the warmongering zealots.
The elves barely negotiate, and they put most of their time into war efforts than anything else. The dark elves are similar in that they're more warring, but they tend to be more “peaceful” than the elves. Some who've lived in or were held prisoner in the dark elven planets have said that the dark elves secretly admire humans, but aren’t those are just rumors.
The insectans were at the top of the arcane pyramid, but now that title belongs to the humans after the Eldritch Race gave humanity insight. The insectans are also torn apart by countless mafia's and gangs that seem to plague their planets like a incurable cancer. Most of their worlds were conquered via orbital bombardment, causing all insectans to live underground. Because of this, they’ve evolved to live underground, sadly losing their capability to be on the surface without protection.
