I haven't set up the board as of yet. Nor come up with a name. What I am looking for is either of these ideas interest any of you and would be worth the effort I would put into the site. I was thinking of doing the board on a site like Jcink and possibly purchasing a "premium" account. That being said, here is a couple of ideas I hashed out as possible Original RPs:
Idea #1 - Dragons
Members could roleplay a wide variety of things. From dragons to normals and anything in between. As there could be a lot going on and a lot of spots to fill. There would probably be the Main RP and possible off shoots or "mini" RPs. To help further the story along. Most likely the story will begin before the mass wide event. To help build the tension, conflict, and suspense of the story line.
Oh and dragons would come in different colors, classifications, sizes, shapes, and breeds. So there is plenty of play room for those who are looking for something out of the "eastern" and "western" based dragons genres. One example of a "dragon" could be a toad the size of a great dane, with horns, and spikes all over its' body. This toad looking dragon could shoot poison or drown its' victims with thick mucus it spits. Of course that is just an example and I am sure others can come up with better ideas than that.
Idea #2 - Shamans
I haven't worked out how I could control everyone from getting the best of the best, but it will come to me. I hope. Nor have I completely worked out the conflict. But, this is what I had in mind. At least the basics of it.
Idea #1 - Dragons
- Would be based in a modern era. Much like current times and with current problems.
- The normal people, those who do not have a dragon's song, go about their day to day lives and basically have ignored what goes on around them. Kind of like ignoring the dragons till they "disappear" kind of thing.
- Those who have a dragon's song are chosen and ushered into schools or compounds to train, battle, breed, or study dragons.
- The conflict for this would be maybe a mass wide event that brings dragons back to the fore front of normals minds. Maybe something kind of a post apocalyptic event. Maybe chemical warfare or world wide wars or natural disasters. Now everyone can see dragons. Which disrupts the daily lives of many around the world and has caused a lot of tension between the two.
- To add fuel to the fire, there could be various factions underground wanting to dominate the dragon world and then take over the entire world itself.

Idea #2 - Shamans
- Original idea I had for magic wielders.
- Those who have magic in their blood can summon various numbers of "totems".
- The amount of "totems" the character can summon will be based on bloodline and/or magic each character has.
- There is a total of 13 royal bloodlines. Each with varying numbers in the family. Any where from 3 members up to 60 members or more.
- Of course there is exceptions to every rule and those who do not come from those bloodlines do have a possibility of having magic in their blood. They are far and few between.
- A "totem" is an animal spirit a character can summon. They can range from something as small as a mouse up to mythical creatures.
- Depending on your "totem(s)" is what kind of job you end up with.
- Like, for example, Ox like totems could be used to pull carts or plow or do any number of hard labor type jobs. Where a bird like totems could be a spy or even a messenger.
- The "totems" come in various shapes, sizes, breeds, and levels of powers.
- The "totems" power, breed, shape, and size would be half way dependent on the character and the bloodline or magic that character has.
- There will be original lore, laws, and rules for the site. As it will be an original world concept based loosely on a novel I am writing.
- It is basically an AU on the planet Earth. Where humans are aware of "magic".
- Some technology is available, but generally at the schools and compounds the "totems" require natural elements. So, most electronics are forbidden, cars are only of the electric type, and electricity is generated by natural means. Such as solar, wind, and water.
- Technology is about what it is today, but without a lot of the green house gas releasing plants, cars, etc. Since "totems" are known about, the leaders of all over the world have pushed for less toxic technology and have gone a more natural means. So imagine if you will... a cleaner, healthier world.
- Electricity is powered by solar, wind, rain, rivers, and by large batteries. The large batteries are basically charged (by solar means) and then shipped in. The batteries are used for generators and homes to far from other natural electricity.
- There will be plenty of opportunities to play people who go about day to day jobs, who own stores, teachers, etc. There is more non-magic wielders than "Shamans".
- "Shamans" are revered and often help keep the peace between the nations.
- There is a total of 7 nations.
- Conflict would come in later. As I haven't wrote that far in my novel. But, I was thinking of something like shadow "Shamans" that wield dark "magics" and enslave "totems". Who can also steal other "totems" and leave a "Shaman" basically powerless.
