Fantasy Original Asian/Oriental Fantasy RP

Hi all!

A few friends and I are recruiting for a Original RP, set in an Asian/Oriental inspired fantasy world, taking inspiration from the Avatar series in particular, but others such as Naruto etc.
All the world building has been done, but we’re now looking for RPers to join us and create characters, storylines, and to most importantly RP!

If this sounds like something you would be interested in then please either reply or DM me 😃

(Hello i'm interested, but i wonder if my OC could be a yokai?)

((Just wanted to pop my head in here and say that the use of the word ‘oriental’ in this context is kinda racist. I know that its obviously not intentional, but just wanted to let you know so you can remove that word from the title. Thanks!))

Well as you are quite literally the only person to have had a problem with it, I don’t see a reason to. Not causing any harm, just advertising for an RP. Thanks.

hi, stepping in as an "oriental" to say i was also weirded out by the word choice. it has negative connotations for many asian people and it's an outdated word for many reasons, so please consider just deleting it as i think "asian-inspired fantasy rp" gets the point across just as well

Yea! Being an Asian person myself, I was weirded out and offended too.

As someone who can buy oriental flavoured noodles in a cup from Woolworths I'm wondering if you get offended in your supermarket as well

I must have missed the memo. Been alive for more than two decades, and I can tell you that "oriental" is far from being outdated. By definition, it derives from the Latin word "Orient" which has been referring to the "Eastern" World since forever. I don't know where you get this negative connotation thing from, but I assure you that it's far harmless and tame, compared to being called the C or G word, as an Asian.

I don't. Shouldn't be any reason to. Then again, I'm just built differently. Drink some milk, it's good for your bones to weather all sorts of words.

Got a chuckle out of me. Stay flowin', dear Flowiest D. Last I recall, that was your old name, yes?
How you been?

oh my gosh you're absolutely right oh manliest man with milk bones of steel, us snowflakes BOW to you

lmfao

i've been sexualized since i was born for being an asian girl in a racist community, and some of the most unpleasant traumatic experiences i've had with creeps, harassers, and assaulters involved them yelling how much they enjoy preying on "oriental p***y" at me – when i was nine. it is a word that still negatively affects asian people, especially asian women, to this day.

the us govt also used that word to belittle asians while they were banning us from immigrating, and it's literally now banned from use in official govt documents... so clearly it is an offensive term

when i think about the meaning of a word, i consider the possible historical and cultural contexts as well because i enjoy being mindful and conscious of the people around me :-)

anyways thank you SOOO much for your very valued input mister "sushi muncher"

I see. I will make sure to refrain from using it around you. But trust me, I'mma be using that word for the rest of my life.
I grew up in the mean streets of Nam, so it don't matter none, if they can't get to your psyche.

Have a wonderful day. :>
