OOC Discussions

Well I wanted to completely finish my own character before I opened sign ups, but I guess I don't have to.  Players are now welcome to post WIP or finished characters in their own threads in the Roll Call section.   :D

Hello there!  I've still got a few things to add to the roleplay, and my character's history section is taking forever but... Thanks for checking in!

The roleplay will be up and running before you know it. *fingers crossed* I'm looking forward to seeing all the sweet characters that everyone cranks out!  B|

Reporting in.

Character will be up after I get off work. I can already tell this will be fun.

I'll look over the submitted characters tonight.  For everyone else there's no need to rush, you'll be able to enter whenever you're ready.

Cool beans man, I truly hope this game takes off and keeps interest instead of petering out, the base idea for the necromunda sandbox is an idea that shouldn't die in its first week IMO.

Personally speaking, I have quite a few plot seeds (in my notes) ready to plant for my character.  I'm counting on this roleplay running for quite awhile so I can get through them.  It looks like we'll start with a solid cast of characters, and we have the capability to recruit more at anytime in the future.

I feel guilty for being optimistic—what with it going against the spirit of 40k and all—but I just can't help myself.  B|

I think you got your words mixed up there Addy,

What you meant to say was "illegal arms smugglers".

Absolutely. Just create a thread for your character whenever you're ready and people we'll soon follow suit.

Welp, this is new for me...

So...I've never played in a game where every character has their own thread...Why would that be a thing? Why not have it all in one thread to prevent confusion? How are our characters supposed to interact with each other if we're all in our own threads?

Good questions.  It's structured this way to in order to allow players to enter and leave as they desire and post at a pace they're comfortable with.  It also, from my point of view, will allow players to collaborate with those they gauge as a good match, and at the same time distance themselves from those they suspect won't be.

To interact with other players you can simply put forward a collaboration pitch here (or a pm) and then create a shared thread or work out of one of each other's thread, or both.

I'd love to map out our hive with character names and zones, but I imagine it would be difficult with it needing to be 3D, as opposed to top down 2D.

well i mean we could just take two maps one top down for location, and one with a side view for height.

3D would be quite difficult to get ye.

Two maps, huh?  Yeah I guess that could work; it's certainly worth a try.  Hey guys and gals, while I have your attention, I wanted to ask everyone about cursing... Not with the intention to limit it, but to standardize it.

How should we represent swear words: present world terminology or scifi PG rated jargon—frak/frag, drek, ect? Either works for me, I'd just prefer to get on the same page early.

Bugger. I've already posted something where I think present day terminology is used in terms of profanity. I could edit it if necessary.

Necromunda is vast, and so is the imperium - so I'd say whatever ya feel like for profanity as long as it fits. One man screaming 'fuck!' and another 'Emperor's Fething Bowels' would just help add to that variety. At least I think so.
