Ok, since one of my previous ideas was accepted despite some controversy I thought I might try again...
This idea is again something we already have, but is also adding a copy of it to the posting avatar.
Ok, we have the very useful front page list of who is online of those we follow. However we don't follow everyone as lets face facts, we don't care about them.
However when we are posting especially in a new forum, or sign ups or just in ooc forums threads. We are always curious if the last person who posted is online so they will reply to us immediately because we are impatient buggers or the author himself/herself is on so they will accept us or etc.
Yes we can choose to just follow them to see if they are online, but we don't want to do that for everyone random we reply to in OOC or author we sign up to in hopes they will accept us. Also useful for authors to see which of their members are online, without having to go back to front page and they can see exactly as they have left.
So my idea is simply this:
It can be done in two ways, either a little extra title either under or above avatar saying online or offline. It could even be Online being green and Offline being red. Otherwise I have seen some just do buttons, where when they are online the button is a light up green and offline the button is grey and pale.
Otherwise if this is too much, maybe just have the button or title only appear when you click their name and their mini profile pops up.
This is a good idea as it tells you exactly who in the forum you are currently posting with is on and exactly when they leave, because sometimes people do disappear randomly.
Right now we only have where they lasted visit in the mini-profile and with that, you can't be sure if they are on right this second or not....
Anyway, that is my idea. Not sure if it is good or a flop...
