Online Bar?

Hey all, I sometimes find it annoying having to look on someone's profile to see if there online. I would be helpful if ther was like a bit on the user that said if they were online or not. This would be really useful because if this was possible I wouldn't have to take ages to find out wether they are online or not.

I remember there was this function were people could disable it, and like 2/3s of the people just had it disabled or it was abled but it showed on unless you actively logged out. Complicated coding issues, I imagine.

Why not green letters under your picture saying ONLINE or OFFLINE or AFK

Well you could have a tab on your profile that you can choose weather your hidden/AFK/Online (kinda like Skype)

People could be lazy sometimes - what about a single button on your mini-profile (the one in every post you make)? Every time you click it, it could change between Hidden/AFK/Online.

Why would there be issues, all the other RP website managed it, why not RPN?

I wouldn´t know, I´m not a programmer. I´m not even staff in RPN. So I couldn´t know the answer to that question.

All you would need to do is have a server/bot that recorded the time you disconnected to the server, and when that happens it would trigger the text to show offline.

We had a number of addons, including this one, that made the site laggy because they weren't being updated when the site software was.  That's one of the reasons we upgraded to the software we're using now.  We haven't yet found replacements for all the addons we used to have, but we are looking.

Both privacy and security reasons, you have to respect their privacy, if they don't want you to know they're online then they don't want you to know. I always sign in anonymously so others don't know if I'm actively in or not cuz my last visited section says I visited a long time ago.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the online bar. But that's probably because I'm one of those people who will look at a message and not respond right way. So I don't like people hounding me.
