Fandom One Piece: Journey Into the Undersea! IC

As he made his way through the base Fuji noticed how empty it was and admired the cleverness of captain Ichimonji. At the same time his respect for the competence of the Marines took a heavy hit, he couldn't blame them for falling for the trick as he didn't figure it out either but to leave their base this empty? Sure it probably wasn't completely abandoned but that was stupid.

As he got closer and closer to the docks, or at least to the sea judging by smell he noticed he hadn't come across anyone looking like a pirate either. Only reason he could think of was that he went in a different direction when going through the hole since he neglected to look for tracks of any kind. After chastising himself for that mistake he just kept going since at this point heading back might cause him to miss them entirely.

It didn't take Fuji long before he spotted the docks. Naturally there were several watchtowers surrounding it and despite everything he had no doubt they would be manned. Deciding to kill two birds with one stone he headed for the one closest to him, doing his best to remain unseen. After all if he managed to take the tower off without the alarm being sounded he might be able to not only spot his companions but also make it easier for them to sneak in.

A wide wicked grin rested on Mesa's lips as others seemed to join in the chaos. What had been a simply been a pretty though a bit strange woman clearly showing much more of her true nature with the wide smirk that so false flash of hers presented. There was only so much her façade could last after all before her more chaotic side could really show up. She had wanted to play the game right, to keep a low profile and get into a new crew where she could make new friends. Since that plan was going up in flames, now literally as the fire started to spread through the building, it only made her that much more willing to take the much more 'fun' approach. The fact others had joined in only filling her with that much more exhilaration.

"What's a lie? Perhaps in this now there might be fabrications but in yet another existence it could be all truths. Besides in the sheer thrill of chaos, truth or lies are but platitudes in the here and now." She spoke out delayed in her response given the fact the Marines had made their parting outside to keep them locked inside. Not that her delayed response meant all that much given how much of a word salad it was put together simply to justify what she said. She laughed again as she stretched out, the long fleshy limb she had created sinking back into her body with her fingers moving about as if making sure her meat suit was properly fitting upon her body to allow her limb to function normally.

"Since the Marines are sheer party poopers... how about we go travel to those docks? Well... not the ones close to us... let us walk to that which all others flee from. I'm sure the others would enjoy a nice going away party to watch as we happy few fall into the abyss oh so gentle and sweet as she may be." She spoke with a chuckle as she suddenly walked to the front entrance. The smirk suddenly shifting as her pretty face bubbled and appeared as if the flesh itself was melting looking hideous. The effect replicating onto her hands as if she was made of wax with her flesh melting away in a rather grusome display.

"Follow the one who melts and bash your way through. Your temporary captain shall be your decoy and shield." She spoke laughing as she swept her hand up through her green locks, making a bit of a mess of it. She charged to the door holding her hand partially over her melted looking face as the other flailed about as if to try and clear the way melting away in the process as she cried out in a rather horrific cry of distress.

"Please It burns it burns... it burns... I don't want to die!" She cried out throwing her body out with full force hoping to horrify the marines who might see her whole barging through and taking any blows she might intercept on the way out to give everyone else and opening to break out after her, not quite aware someone else was also helping to create a commotion outside.

Sheri flinched when Cayden took her arm, memories rushing back of what happened the last time someone took her arm. When it wasn't followed by the immediate sound of painful screaming, she started to relax and follow where Cayden lead. Maybe everything would work out fine. By some miracle with Cayden's aid, Sheri was able to avoid being caught and bypass the security. After making her way through the wire fence, she scaled the walls with minimal damage, having opted to not take the lock chain the others were climbing for... various reasons. "Uhm. Hi." she said awkwardly, giving a small wave as she pulled herself up over the edge. She got to her feet and brushed off the dust. A particularly observant individual might notice the bits of crushed stone she wiped off alongside the dust from where she broke the wall whilst climbing.

Sheri was as surprised as the rest of her new compatriots by the apparent form of their new dread captain. However, not in a bad way, she was secretly glad that the captain seemed like someone approachable rather than a hardened veteran of piracy. She listened to the captain's plan patiently. She marvelled at how smart the captain was to come up with a plan like this. She watched as one by one the others split into teams based on their skillsets, and Sheri started to panic once more. "Um. What team should I join? My unique talent is being um... really strong?"

Maximillian the Drakskinned
Maxi was lost to the din and fury of battle! His blood pumped wildly through his body and he had a wild grin on his face! "Come face me Mariners! Test your mettle!" The young knight errant faced several Marines with sword and shield! Slashing and slamming into them with the strength of a demon! He slashed a marine across the face before slamming his shield into his chest. "Fight! Fight! Fight! Sea Dogs! Tell your masters MAXIMILLIAN THE DRAKSKINNED SENT YOU FL-HUH?!" He felt himself grabbed and thrown backwards. "DOG! BLACKGUARD! FUCKING FIGHT ME LIKE A WARRIOR!" He hit a wall in the bar and glared at the retreating marines he want to give chase and fight! But the words of the lying green haired woman activate one of his few brain cells dealing with self preservation. "GRRRRRRAAAGGREED! LET US BE OFF!" He followed the melting mistress out of the burning tavern to see her throwing herself at the Marines to distract them. He smiled. "Underhanded and unbefitting of a knight but you have my thanks!" He brought his shield up and tightened his body like a spring. The energy of his body built up before he kicked off the ground and launched himself forward like a battering ram. In an ear splitting voice he screamed."Bouclier météore!"

Cayden
Cayden tugged on the chain that slinked down the wall, noting its unique make. The entire length was one singular lock of locks locked to each other. He couldn't help but wonder if this was an elaborate inside joke that he had managed to parse out of some kind. He tugged at it, testing if it would hold his weight, then glanced at the others. The blue-haired girl had already zipped up the wall, and the burly one that he had gracefully escorted into the premises was...free climbing up the sheer face of the wall. Under the light, he could just make out divots where her hands dug into the concrete, creating her own hand holds where she gripped. If there was any doubt left as to whether she was doing what he assumed she was doing, dust and pieces of rock scattered down the wall, clattering around his feet. Somewhat impressed, he turned his attention to the links of locks, and began his own ascent. Biting on the blade of his sword, he took a good hold of the locks, and made quick progress up the side of the wall.

He hopped over the edge of the wall, finally arriving at the top after a short climb. Removing his sword from his mouth, he silently made his way to the side, observing the vast darkness where the Captain was indicating. The young lady introduced herself as the Dread Captain, and though he could see the various expressions of the others as they judged her internally, he couldn't care less. She was his ticket to the Undersea, and he could care less if she introduced herself as a Marine General. Speaking of which, it was clearer than ever now that this was definitely not a Marine recruitment drive. He stayed quiet as the blue-haired girl and the young man with the goatee and spiffy hat prattled on to the Captain.

The burly girl spoke up suddenly, and Cayden couldn't help but scoff. What was she doing here, honestly? She seemed to be completely out of her element. Cayden had to give her some credit, though, for sticking around despite understanding that she basically didn't belong here amongst rogues and pirates. He rolled his eyes, and gave the two options that the Captain offered some more thought. After a moment more, he sighed, then turned towards the burly girl.

"Go with the Captain," he said plainly. "She needs someone who can handle as much supplies as possible, and if your self-assessment is accurate, you'd be a good pick to help out with the heavy lifting." Cayden hesitated, his hand tightening around his sword, before he caved. "I'm coming with." He stepped towards the Captain, but just before he passed her by, he leaned in towards the Captain's ear.

"I do hope you know what you're doing. You're my only hope of getting into the Undersea, but your words don't exactly inspire confidence. Choose them wiser, next time." He retreated, backing away from her, and leaned against the parapet beside her, watching her and the rest of the gathered carefully.

Indigo looked at the others climbing the wall and whistled. Each had their own way of doing it and not all of them very conventional. But it was impressive either way. Not one to be left behind he ran towards the wall and leaped. Using the many hand holds on the wall, Indigo scaled the wall quickly and was shortly on the roof with his new captain and crew mates.

Indigo reaches into his coat and pulls out a pistol making sure that it's loaded. "No ship huh?" He sighs "I was hoping there was one already but if you want to steal one I can come along." He floursihes his cloak and gives a large smile "Indigo Gainsbrook, hope this is fun adventure captain!" He reaches his hands forward. "If you need something stolen or breaking into I'm your guy!"

The Marine Base

Sora Ichijomae

Sora blinked in surprise as her hand was seized and shaken and one prospective pirates thrust an honest to god resume into her hands.

"Oh uhh, this is a little more formal than I had in mind, pirates don't really do resumes- wait this says you know how to use den-den mushi excel? Can you tell me why my tables keep getting all messed up?" Sora suddenly remembered where she was and cleared her throat. "Uhh, anyway. Hired. I'm probably not going to bother checking your references or anything so you can have this back. Since you know your way around ships you can come with me, Mr Strong and Silent type and his extremely jacked girlfriend," Sora turned to Kal and Indigo "You guys hit the control room, if you're a thief worth your salt then you shouldn't have any trouble busting in there! And our new scout here can give you cover, if you run into any stragglers take em with you as well. The more the merrier right?" The control room is the circular room with all the windows at the top of the main building, ya can't miss it. Just be aware that even with the base pretty much empty there's likely to be at least somebody stationed in there and if they sound the alarm than it can go into a sort of sealed lockdown mode and it'll be pretty tricky to get in there after that so be sneaky,"

Sora turned back to the other group. "Alrighty! Our lady Eurydice awaits! To to the docks!" Sora held up a hand and with a small shimmer a lock appeared in her open hand, then a second lock linked onto the other and then a third until Sora was holding a long chain of locks identical to the one that had been left at the base of the tower for the applicants to climb up. Sora bent down and somehow affixed one end of the chain to the floor beneath the and then tugged the chain to show that it was secure, then she slid down it, disappearing into the darkness below.

Illyria watched the Captain slide down her impromptu chain. “Interesting ability. At least we know no one is going to steal the ship…. Other than us.” She stepped up to the ledge and watched her descend. I wonder what else she can do. This should be a fun trip. Then she stepped off the wall and into the void.

The wind screamed in her ears, drowning out the sound of muffled voices. Illyria passed the Captain in an instant, the ground seeming to leap up at her. At the last second, she flexed her legs. Illyria lurched to a stop; the roaring wind replaced with the hissing of air compressors. The burst of air kicked up dirt, easing her landing to a muffled thump atop the packed ground. Glancing up, she could see the Captain above her, halfway to the ground.

Nodding to herself, Illyria crouched in the shadows of the wall before turning to study the compound. The wide parade ground was dark, with most of the light directed outward. One a few bobbing glimmers remained, marking the few marines left within the base. “Must have put most of their number on the wall. It seems the Captain’s poster did its work well. Well, either that or there are a few hundred marines hiding in the dark ready to crack our skulls in.” She studied their route, trying to get a sense of their timing and pattern. All we have to do now is match their pace, and we should be down to the docks with none the wiser.”

As she watched, Illyria reached down, inspecting her legs by touch. Two bursts left the compressors warm to the touch, heat radiating from them. She could manage one more, maybe two before she’d need to give them time to cool. Guess we’ll have to do this the old-fashioned way,” she thought.

Hearing the chain clink, Illyria turned to see the Captain touch the ground. Nodding to Sora, she motioned toward patrolling marines. “Looks like the poster has pulled most of them off the base” she whispered. “Either that or the Marines have gotten much better at hiding.” She pointed along the wall. “If we stick to the shadows, we should be able to get to the docks unnoticed. Doesn’t seem like they have enough numbers for a tight patrol route. Don’t know bout you Cap, but I sure as hell don’t wanna try rig a boat I’ve never seen before while getting shot at.”
