Oakhill has always been known as the less weird area. No giant glowing trees, not a single blood dripping fiend. At least not for miles around the gate. Who knows what's happening further away. Oakhill is just an ordinary plain for as far as the eye can see, occasionally bumping into a mountain range, a lake or even sea, but afterwards come plains again.

Although, only humans populate Oakhill, no other race has even dared to settle here. Many travelers pass by looking for a new home, however, not one of them ever wanted to live among humans, being different all the time, receiving weird looks and facial expressions.

Gregory has been a hunter ever since he was fourteen. He began this occupation out of sheer fear of being caught by one of the beasts that live outside his town, Riverlocke, walls. He became a hunter to help out his town and the people he cared about, training with his father and friends. Though the rest of his acquaintances were too afraid to step out and actually do something about the attacks, about the people that keep disappearing trying to reach further points of interest.

The blonde boy who now carries a slim, long sword by his side, sheathed on his right thigh and uses magic to empower his attacks was finally ready to venture out and begin helping out the townspeople. His first goal was to eliminate the town's biggest and most common threat - the Kadeki Goblin Clan located about ten miles south of Riverlocke.

Before he could go out carrying a bag of supplies needed for the journey, that contained bandages, food, drinks and a few arcane dust vials, something caught his eye. Something, or rather, someone. A girl about his age, not seen here before. She didn't appear a normal girl, she was.. Different. He had to talk her up to find out if she wasn't a scout for the Kadeki Clan. Or worse, something even more nasty.

( @Shadow Here's the starting post. You don't have to make such a long one. Two or three paragraphs are enough really. It's up to you though.)

Valleyton is a large valley, of course, in a large mountain range. They didn't really get many travelers, as they were generally more graceful than most people and it took lots of agility to reach their buildings, due to where they were built. However, they are welcoming to whoever reaches them, and a few families from other humans or races can be found here. It has many rivers and forests that look like any other forests or rivers. They love magic though, and use it to protect the trees and the water.

Leyla has been a hunter since she was fifteen. She became a hunter because she wanted to protect the people to came to her town seeking help. Many of them had been attacked by beasts that destroyed part of their towns. Her father and mother trained her along with another young girl from their town. Most of the town's occupants are very peace loving and generally ignore any strange or dangerous 'goings on'.

Leyla carries and long-bow and a quiver slung across her back. Sometimes she also wears a short sword strapped to her left leg. She loved to use magic when she could. She didn't know where to start but her father pointed her in the direction of Oakhill. When she arrived she first went to get supplies that she might need. She tried to keep her head low and stay unnoticed, but she couldn't help but wonder about one boy she saw.

"An unfamiliar face enters the realm..." Gregory spoke in a very serious storytelling-like tone. Trying to keep a dim, emotionless face was a difficult task for him, and of course, he soon cracked and began to giggle in front of a shady girl he didn't even know. A quite strange feeling engulfed him as he wasn't the type to approach a female and just talk to her, yet, in order to be a proper hunter, he knew he'd have to do it quite often. He was certain that the Goblin clan wasn't anything close to the end towards his adventures, thus venturing even deeper into Oakhill, or even leaving it for the first time would be a necessity. Talking to people would too.

As rude as it might have seemed from the side of an unfamiliar face, Gregory couldn't help to hold his hand on the hilt of his blade. He could never be too safe, especially when he didn't even get to use his sword properly before. Ever. Training dummies, bags and tree trunks didn't count as proper use. That was the most of what his training consisted, except for blade fight lessons with his neighbour's daughter. She was the best in their town, even if being but a girl...

Leyla turned toward the voice and saw the boy she had noticed earlier. She allowed herself a smile when he started giggling. "Unfamiliar faces aren't unwelcome in the realm I hope." She responded quietly. She didn't really know how to talk to boys, but she hoped she wasn't being forward. She glanced down briefly at his hand, which was resting on his sword. Her eyes returned to his face and she hoped he didn't notice her taking a small step back.

In her head, she quickly ran through how she would react if he attacked. What would be the fastest, getting her short sword from her thigh or her bow from her back? She had gotten faster and notching an arrow, but in such close quarters perhaps it would be best to use her short sword. She took another small step away. She mentally glared at herself. Since she had begun training to be a hunter, she had started over-analyzing everything. Literally. She didn't know for sure he was trouble, he may just find it most comfortable to have his hand resting on his sword. She took a deep breath to relax.

Gregory gazed at the girl's eyes as she spoke and he quickly crossed his arms atop his chest, no longer wary of the girl. He wasn't sure if it was stupid or brave, but he literally dropped his guard there. "Those of good heart aren't." He smiled again at the girl. The fact that she took a few steps back made him a bit uncomfortable as he realized he seemed as if he was a threat to her.

Nonetheless he stretched out a hand as a form of greeting, hoping she'd react the same. "The name's Gregory"

Leyla smiled in relief when he moved his hand from his sword. "Well I hope my heart is satisfactory then." She said, looking at his eyes. She let her guard down and got distracted momentarily by his blue eyes. She shook her head slightly, reminding herself to stay on guard even if he was being awfully nice.

She almost pulled out her short sword when he reached his hand out to her, but she caught herself just in time. She really needed to relax. She slowly reached out her hand. "I'm Leyla."
