Multiple Settings One on One

Nonialba

An archivist documenting all things
Hello,

I am Noni, a non-binary individual who is 30+ and seeking roleplay partners for the new year.

I'm in GMT and consider myself literate. I tend to post a few paragraphs but have no real expectations for my partners as long as they can give me something to reply to.

I don't care what pairing preference people have, and I'm comfortable playing all roles. I'm just seeking a long-term roleplay.

I do run 4 D&D games a week, so my replies can get slow at times, but I do try to reply at least once a day. I have no expectations for you, I don't care if you take a day, a week, or a month, it's chill, just if you're not feeling the roleplay please tell me and we can part. I can also roleplay over here via Discord, email, and Google Docs.

Setting Ideas

- The Known World
Humanity fell 1,000 years ago to a malevolent AI. People retreated, hiding from the machines that prowl the surface, now free from the chains of their human masters. Humanity has regressed. Knowledge was all digitalised, which meant it was all lost during the final fight.

The city, name lost to the ages, is all humanity now knows. Once a sprawling megacity it now lies dormant, covered in vines and plants. Nature has reclaimed much, but humanity still clings on in factions. Small enclaves of civilization, living and surviving.

Some of the ideas I have for this:
  • In the intact skyscrapers, bridges of wood and vines have been built, creating a small population who deem themselves above all. This district, known as 'The Upper Heights' have individuals who live in a hedonistic society. They rely on pleasures from the lower districts, and in return, they indulge in what finery they can and have scavenged. As some false royalty/nobility, characters who are starting to see this lifestyle as wrong and want to escape, knowing other human factions live below, but struggle to break from their family and their home.
  • A huge wall surrounds the city, stopping people from leaving. Though, it is hollow inside. A faction of scholars has been founded in the Rose Academy, between the pipes and the wires. They work hard to discover more about their past ancestors and try to find a way to grow back to full power. A roleplay from here could work on knowledge and discovery, discovering secrets of the society before and unearthing ancient mysteries.
  • The Lake in the centre is a massive body of water (probably a water feature for the first humans). But, due to the lack of clean water, a temple has been erected by the lake and it is under guard. The water is almost considered a god in its own right, portrayed as a maiden, and the church of the maiden is strict in its doctrine. Characters from here could find out the maiden is a false god, or have to hide something from the church and be in fear of religious persecution.
  • The final district is in the sewers. Known as the Underknown, criminal factions and crime lords rule the pipes and tunnels with iron fists. They ferry pleasures to the people of the Upper Heights, and go against the doctrine of the maiden, supplying their own water and jerry-rigging some of the machines to do their biddings. Characters from here can be part of a criminal syndicate, or trying to find a better life by going to the wall or the Upper Heights.
    • Some Character relation ideas (doesn't have to be romantic, friendship pairings are also 100% accepted and encouraged.)
      • Upper Heights Noble x Underknown ruffian.
      • Two Rose Academy researchers discovered some hidden mysteries.
      • Two of the maiden's clergy were punished for disobeying religious doctrine and looking to escape.
      • Upper Heights nobles are terribly vain and toxic for each other but still enjoy each other's company.
      • An Underknown crime lord vs a rival crime syndicate.
      • + many more. There may seem like a lot of lore/worldbuilding here, but I'm very flexible and looking for someone to have mutual creativity and desire to expand this setting.
- Household Setting/Borrowers/Secret World of Arrietty

An old manor house sits on top of the hill, long abandoned it becomes the home of 'littlings', small creatures (the Household has sluagh, faeries, sprites and boggarts, but we can shake it up). Littling cities have formed and they have developed their own (think Victorian esque-steampunk with household supplies) society. Any ideas are accepted, it's more of a setting. I have a few myself (again I am going based on the Household ttrpg setting but we can adapt):
  • Astraviya, the city of lights (located in the dining room chandelier) is the primary city for faeries and is ruled by the Tsarina.
    • A Sherlock/Watson-inspired roleplay set in this city, a detective duo who are searching for clues and unearthing mysteries around the city.
    • The Great Imperial Army is known to uphold the beliefs of the royal family. Though, with a series of crimes that plague the city, what happens when some of the guard start agreeing with the rebels?
    • The Faeriyev School is the top fencing school in the realm, of learning and studying the art of the pin. How do students cope with the pressure, while keeping perfection?
    • Under Duke Küchenschrank’s mansion, beneath the Shelves of Glasburg, down the stairs through the Drawers, in the belly of the Cupboard where the rays from the Great Window can hardly reach, there you’ll find the lowest of all underworlds: Unter town. Criminal factions go against the ranks of the royals and the Imperial Army, smuggling contraband and illicit weapons. Who holds the real power in the city?
  • Cinderhall, a spiritual place in the Hearth (located in the living room, boggarts are common here).
    • The Church of Safekeeping is a congregation that dates back to the Master’s disappearance, inspired by the guidance of Big Ben (the first of the boggarts). The Great Keeper is the oldest boggart currently alive, and follow it's guidance to the letter. How will new acolytes face learning the scriptures?
    • The Millipede Den, a hunter's faction that seeks trophy kills like the deadly spiders or rats that can be seen from time to time, a danger to any littling. What happens when two hunters take on more than they can chew?
  • Other ideas include being part of the History Club and finding the lost Argo's Diary pages, travelling the great Sawdust Desert, mingling with Slugan Nobility, and forging strange pacts with creatures like the Spider Convent. Again, very flexible with this, and happy to share any worldbuilding too.
- Other settings
  • Sci-fi, pirates, mercenaries or even crew on a ship travelling to a new place. Perhaps getting lost in a rift or having to deal with alien politics?
  • Victorian nobility, upper class vs lower class dynamics, perhaps manor house (Downton Abbey/Bridgerton Inspired historical dramas)
  • Fantasy, isekai, stuck in a fantasy world. Or we could do high fantasy with similar themes to nobility, or thieves guild antics.
I'm pretty flexible with everything, but the household/post-apocalyptic settings are what I'm most drawn to. I'm happy to talk/work things out too 😊
