It actually isn't first come first served, lol, at all it even says that about the named roles. XD The person who has the role is perfectly fine with splitting it because the RP has just started and everything is very flexible right now. You aren't taking their role away from them at all. They are still the quartermaster it just means that their PC's role has less work they have to cover within the role because it had been combined. They'd still be the QM and you can have the Bosun role without even really affecting *anything* at all negatively, but actually more positively.
It's not really an issue of justice if they are fine with it, is it? They weren't pressured in any way about it or threatened or manipulated, lol. You can ask

It's really... not that big of a deal to any of us, lol.That being said, I'm not gonna pressure you either about it, but I just wanted to be super clear it is all chill on the subject. No one is raving that you're stealing someone's role. No one's upset or bothered in the slightest. I mean, if I had split the role without informing you and just saying I created the role, I have a feeling your reaction would have been different, lol.
Were I to notice the thread earlier, I could've much easier take the more suiting navigation position, but since there were people coming in first, I cannot and have to improvise about it, choosing something that might fit better (crew managing? -not very, but ki-i-ind of). So, yeah, I mean it didn't start as it, sure, but now lots of improv needed c:
