Shawdios
It’s pronounced SHAWDIOS!
"Boys will be bugs right?"
Ello there! I’m Shawn and I’ve been roleplaying for about 7 years.
My passions are the RPers trinity: drawing, reading, and writing. My character face claims will, most often than not, be drawn by myself, so if you don’t like cartoonish/anime style face claims I might not be the person for you. (For an example of my art, look to my art dump threads or PFP)
I’m aroace, so keep that in mind when asking for romance. I’m not bothered by it, but I just generally don’t have any personal experience/interest in it.
i‘ve got ADHD and Depression, so my ability/motivation for roleplaying is kinda at those two’s mercy.
- Found family is a really big soft spot for me, I’ll most likely love any found family based RP.
- low-fantasy, modern fantasy, a little bit of sci-fi (if you convince me strongly enough) and mystery are the genres i like to delve into, but im not limited to them.
- I write around 100-400 words/2-6 paragraphs, but I can do more depending on what’s needed/given to me. (i.e: intro posts tend to be longer than usual posts)
- I love dark stuff with decent angst. But I also enjoy the fluffy moments. It doesn't all have to be heart-wrenching angst.
- I’m open to romance but I prefer for the plot to be centered around something else. For me, romance is more of a topping you sprinkle onto a dish instead of it being the meal.
- I like to write LGBTQIA+ characters, and around half of my characters are trans/non-binary/gender queer.
- My writing schedule is roughly once every other day (maybe more depending on my motivation and flow), but at least once a week. If it’s been a few days and I haven’t responded, give me a lil message to remind me. I probably saw the notification and my adhd brain forgot about it/got sidetracked.
- I tend to switch between main characters when one goes off screen if I’m playing more than one focus, I also write a lot of side characters when it feels like they are needed.
- At least 2 paragraphs (100~ words), I need something to work with! but as always: Quality over quantity. (When in doubt, communicate! I’m not a stickler)
- Literate, semi literate idfc what the terms are. But, PLEASE, I beg of you. Use basic grammar in Rp posts. A sentence like: He ran jumping over the log sat down and eat his rations longing to live in the city. Is a bitch to have to decipher.
- Work on the plot with me. I don't like having to lead a story all on my own. (One exception being the STC plot idea, listed in plot idea tab)
- Open to LGBTQIA+ themes
- A respectful outlook on mental illness.
- OOC communication! Things tend to get stuck if we don’t discuss plot or what direction we want the RP to go.
- I’d prefer a straight answer if you’ve grown bored of the RP. A solid “hey the RP is dead, goodbye” would be great so I don't wait for a response and can move on. But, i get it if ghosting feels better
If you read through this, give a lil "F in the chat" for my OC Big and all the hell he gets put through.
NOTE: mental issues tend to be addressed in my RPs but do not have to be. Please be respectful when dealing with the topics of mental illness.
The ideas here can be combined and adjusted as we please, these are not limited to how they are described. Im very flexible with ideas, dont feel that these are what you’re limited to.
- Shattered and Scattered (SaS) : platonic, found family (could be romance, but only if it fits), high angst, world building if desired
Shattered and scattered centers around four brothers and also involves a decent amount of mutual world building due to YC(s) constantly traveling to new places.
The brothers have been separated over time and YC(s) would run into a brother to start the plot. You can decide which brother Yc(s) would run into first. This plot is more of a general end goal of bringing the family back together and YC(s) ending up as another piece of the family either platonically or romantically.
works well when mixed with another idea.
- The Traveling Theater (T3) : platonic, could be romance if wished, semi average angst level, world building if desired, would have mental issues brought up.
YC was just evicted and they stumble upon a traveling theater band consisting of a softy anthro wolf, a snarky energetic imp, and a slightly insane angel turned demon.
Deciding that they could run with the theater for a bit, YC joins them on their travels and chaos ensues.
Kinda vague, intended to be flexible and built upon with you.
- Home of the Wayward Souls (HWS): found family, fantasy, low to medium angst, hurt with comfort, large amount of LGBTQIA+ themes, strictly platonic, potential group Rp idea.
With this idea, there is a winged woman named Sugar who runs a home for kids that no one else will take in.
YC would either be a helper that Sugar hired because she’s realizing that, no matter what she may think, raising this many kids (several of which having serious trauma) by herself is hard. Or YC is a kid coming to the home.
You are welcome to have as many characters as you want with this one, but keep the amount manageable.
- Comradery in Hate (CiH) : found family, heavy LGBTQIA+ themes (specifically Trans/intersex themes), heavy discrimination themes, romance if wished, low to high angst, decent amount of Fluff, leans more towards slice of life with magic, character driven.
YC has just moved to Angeltown in search of a better start and little do they know a cult is on the rise. After unpacking and running some errands, they come home to xenophobic slurs painted on [insert thing here].
But YCs neighbor offers to help clean it off with his brothers and YC gets the sense he’s dealt with this type of thing before.
(Mainly focuses on the two neighbors’ dynamic while dealing with the xenophobic and ableist views of the Cult)
- The Guardian Angel (TGA) : gritty, violence/murder, semi mystery, medium-high angst, high potential for romance, mild-medium worldbuilding,
YC is a reporter/solo detective who’s heard of the rumors being spread by the lower class and has come to Beatuplo to investigate. What are these rumors? Well, they’re about a “Guardian Angel” who swoops in and protects the victim from their attacker, but the attacker always ends up brutally murdered.
Meanwhile, in the neighboring land Blitigore and its capital: Blitz City, there is a singer on the rise going by the stage name The Flaming Star. Who, oddly, is the best match of the description given by one of the witnesses.
Digging deeper, YC finds out dark secrets about the theater owner the rising star is working for and encounters a demon hunter also searching for the guardian angel
- Viva la Revolution (VLR): adventure, oppression themes, Cult/indoctrination themes, high worldbuilding, medium angst, slight found family, romance if wished (but don't force it, let it form naturally), social politics, heavily character driven
Angeltown is famous for being so elusively isolated, and why is that?
YC(s) would be an adventurer(s) searching for Angeltown and descovering the town being taken over by xenophobic cult. They would meet a “ex-criminal” and his family who wishes for revolution against the cult. But hasn’t the ability to fully spark and win said revolution.
Will YC(s) be the person(people) the town needs to rise up against the cult or will the spark be snuffed out?
This would be a longterm RP with the revolution being a slow/medium burn and focus/drive mainly being on the characters. It also would focus on exploring the town’s cult dynamic and how that effects the characters.
- Spill the Tea, er— Coffee. (STC): Drama, slice-of-life BUT MAGICAL!, modern fantasy, death and grief related themes, Queer themes, mental health themes, High angst, Romance not preferred for this one. GM needing player, world building if desired. (VERY lax with swearing on this one)
YC moved away to a small mining town to get away from (insert reason here), and ends up rooming with a Birdfolk who’d been looking for someone to split rent with.
With him mentioning the cafe-bar he works at needing help, and YC out of a job, the two of you end up working together. Word travels fast in this town, and the gossip is everywhere. So you hear that him and the co-owner of the cafe apparently have some sort of beef, that only is growing more and more obvious the longer YC works there. And people are coming to YC for information YC doesn’t know.
Does YC have a past of their own they don’t want to be exposed? How will they navigate the gossip? and goddamn, would your roommate stop being such a fucking asshole?
-=-=-=-
This one is more of your character (and you by proxy) exploring this small town/world and it’s secrets, with me acting as GM. Rather than anything specifically one on one with characters, i’d be switching around between characters and acting as a narrator. I attempted this as a Quest RP, but motivation is difficult when it’s just yourself. Do be aware, there are extremely dark themes this is centered around.
Note: This setting does not have to be used, it is simply a personal creation I’ve crafted over time with each RP it’s been used in.
My apologies for this section being a bit scatter brained, I tend to fit the details to the RP
The world is very similar to ours in technology advancements, but any species/race of beings you can think of exists.
As for terrain? That can change from RP to RP mainly because of how exploration and world building goes.
There are many towns and cities, but the town most plots will reference/be in is Angeltown.
However there are two named cities: Blitzcity and Beetupio.
Blitzcity (often verbally shortened to Blitzety by citizens) is similar to NewYork City in how it feels/looks. theater and acting are big things in Blitzcity. It also has a WIDE variety of races/species of people that live/visit there.
Beetupio is a softer kind of City in how it looks and most of its inhabitants are anthropomorphic insects/arachnids/bugs. However, nobody in the higher class cares about the lower class, sometimes to the point of being cruel towards them. The lower class mainly consists of Ant and young Honey bee species.
Angeltown is very utilitarian, hence the very literal name, and is occupied by Porcilavians.
Porcilavians can live a long time, 100-150 years depending on how one spawned.
When Porcilavians appear, it's called 'spawning' by the "angels" in the town.
Porcilavians can spawn at various ages, for example: One could spawn with a body of a 14 yr old, and another could spawn with a body of a 4yr old.
and 14yr old would mentally mature faster in one year than the 4yr old. It depends on their physical age, but in general they would be mentally caught up to their current physical age by roughly half of their (at spawning) physical age. However they don't have a way to tell their physical age so they go by the person’s Existing Age (how long the person has lived).
Porcilavians vaguely resemble porcelain dolls with their skin being hard and scratch-able.
Their skin isn't actually porcelain, but the toughness is close to it in some areas. Anatomy and hair is the same and blood works the same as well, but around 60-70% of pocilavain’s hair is the same color as their skin. The skin can actually chip off in pieces in some places and if the area is crushed the pieces need to be placed back in order for it to be healed without there being a divot where the piece should have been. It's considered impressive by their culture if your skin is unmarked (due to the harder areas scarring more easily), along with it being shiny and smooth
They do bleed if their skin is chipped, consider it as if the entire top layer of skin came off if a piece chipped off enough to bleed. Otherwise the layer of skin is simply thinner and it is a more muted pink-ish color (The color is also faded if the skin had a bright pigment.) scratches are fine and easily buffed out, as long as they give their skin time to grow and thicken afterwards. If their skin is pierced enough to bleed, it will leave a scar.
They are softer/squishier around their joints and face. But their face is still tougher than most humans' skin.
Their legs and feet are highly sensitive to rough textures, due to those parts of the body being where their skin is the hardest and most likely to get scratched. Most Porcilavians will not wear shoes and will wear loose pants or a skirt/dress/robe because of the severe discomfort.
Due to them having wings, preening is a constant routine they do everyday and is considered a social common to have a friend preen your wings.
Skin color is a very wide spectrum, but most prominent is grayscale tones.
Darker shades are often ostracized and seen as "demonic" by a cult that has formed in the town, but most Porcilavians don't care.
There is a lot of ableism in angeltown and those that are odd are considered Mispawns.
Mispawns, put simply, are Porcilavians that are deemed to have spawned incorrectly. More often than not they are deemed as such because they are physically abnormal. It could be one with softer skin than normal to missing wings/extra wings. The more noticeable the abnormality is the more the misspawn is ostracized, i.e. softer skin would be more acceptable than a missing wing. And while magic is typically judged based on its usefulness, physical magics that boosted usefulness without negatively changing appearance tended to be more approved of during the golden era and showing bits of a magic that changed how you looked negatively were deemed a sign of misspawning. Twins are also classified as mispawns and it’s believed by most Pocilavians that they're one person split in two.
There can be both types of twins, but fraternal pairs are less ostracized than the identical pairs, mainly due to it being able to be played off/thought of as siblings that met the day they spawned. Fraternal have identical magics and identical have opposing or complimentary magics (which is part of where the belief that twins are one person split in two came from). For example, Big and Rise are identical twins, Big has fire magic and Rise has ice magic. They also can do some other magic, but fire and ice are their efficiency.
They are mainly herbivores, they can eat meat but don't need to for their diet. This mainly came from the common use of plant magic to grow food faster during the start of the golden age to feed everyone.
Porcilavians measure age by how long an Porcilavian has existed, and after existing for 20 years they are considered by their race to be mentally adults. However they also have a test one could take to see if they've reached mental adult maturity earlier than that.
Newly spawned Porcilavians are often ignored for a few months, it's seen as a trial of the fittest by most living in the land. But a few kind hearts who remember their own "trial period" will take in any they see.
There is a chirping language (which is dubbed Spawn by the people who remember it) that is an instinctual language newspawns know but are quickly trained out of using and are instead taught a universal spoken language. But those that remember the language use it to talk secretly under the cult’s rule because of it having been mostly forgotten.
But it's a mix of words and emotion/expression, it used to be a very in depth language, but due to most pocilavians forgetting the language and the only reason it is being somewhat remembered is newspawns, it’s very bare bones and leaning towards emotional based.
But more often, newly spawned Porcilavians will live together in groups of 3-5, growing up like siblings and call everyone in the group their family.
(World building ramble about how their names work from my Tumblr before i named their race)
Now why does Sun/Ivy have two names?
Ivy and Rose were named as such because of their plant magic, Ivy found vines easier to grow and Rose found flowers easier to grow.
Ivy and Rose changed their names to Sun and Moon after meeting and seeing Star as family.
"Angels" (as a race, but individuals have differing views and attachment to names) see names as a way to show attachment to other people, or as a efficient indicator. (I.e. Big is taller than most angels, and Pale is very pale.)
Families typically share a theme to their names, and when a group of “Angels” see eachother as Family, they change their names to fit a theme.
Now this is different from an “Angel” taking in recently spawned angel.
It differs, but typically a newly spawn will be named after significant trait they show and/or the first simple noun the namer thinks of.
Some name the newly spawn to fit a theme that applies to their name as well, however this is seen as cocky and egotistical because the namer won’t know if the newly spawn will see them as family.
The situation changes if the newly spawn goes without a name till they decide one for themself. But they tend to pick one of the nicknames given to them by people around them. (This happens when the newly spawn isnt taken in by anyone and no one specifically gives them a name, For example, Hark named himself)
And in general, an “Angel” will change their name as least once throughout their lifetime. Or will have different names for who they are around to show how much those people mean to them.
For example, Fall used to be named Autumn (that name was given to him by Sugar because she found him near the end of autumn) but everyone around him nicknamed him Fall because he couldn’t fly. The name was intended to be cruel but when Sugar never came home from a supply run, he adopted Fall as his name to spite everyone declaring her dead so quickly.
He was (and still is) attached to the name Autumn because Sugar gave him the name and Sugar meant a lot to him.
And with Sugar no longer around, he didn’t want people to ruin Autumn being his name, so he stopped introducing himself as Autumn and only lets people he sees as family call him Autumn.
Another case of this is Sam.
Everyone around him named him Pale due to his extreme paleness, but he saw the name Sam in a book and liked it so he introduces himself as Sam. His brothers refer to him as Sammy instead of Sam to be affectionate.
Hark only calls him Sam because he understands Sams growing dislike of being called Pale due to the Cult, and understands the uncomfortableness from the childish nature of being called Sammy by someone other than Sam’s brothers.
Sun and Moon see changing their name as a “new life, new person” and their old name being an indicator of their old life. Which separates their life before CA and during/After in their minds, which is how they cope.
Is this a healthy way to cope? Probably not, but it works for them and keeps the happy memories to look back on untainted in their minds.
Anyway, TLDR, Changing your name is a regular thing to “Angels”, and “Angels” have different names to show affection and love.
However in the land there is a cult on the rise.
You can choose where on the timeline you would like the Rp to take place. it’s broken up as three eras. Precult, Cult, or Postcult Angeltown.
Before the cult the land was an oligarchy based on age, the elder porcilavians would run the town as a group but an elder is no longer considered eligible to be in the running group if they are physically unfit to do the common job the average citizen could do. Then the position is filled by the next eligible person that wishes to have the position.
Beauty, age and usefulness is what the town values, usefulness is the largest influence but age and beauty are the second and third most respectfully.
The Cult's beliefs are that since they look like angels, they must BE angels and “if they are angels they must have a strong connection with god”.
The Cult followers also believe that if an "angel" is as pure as they can be, they will hear god.
Dancing, singing, and theater, anything that involves performing and odd art, are seen as signs that an "angel" is a "demon" by the cult.
Over time this cult takes over the town and consumes it. Most "demonic" Porcilavians are banished or executed and the population shrinks rapidly. Eventually making the town desolate.
Angeltown originally only had a fence around its borders, but now that the cult has taken over, they've turned into walls. The town is also a lot more dense the closer you get to the center, there is only one entrance for people who can't fly and it's a large arching gate.
Angeltown doesn't sell/make anything that doesn't have a use, or rather, that the cult doesn't see there being a use.
There is a black market, it mainly runs its business around the edges of the town where there isn't as many people, and not a lot of enforcers.
Not everyone in the town believes in the cult, nearly 50% don’t. However, that number is dropping, due to "demonic" people being banished or killed.
The other 50%~ that do believe in some way, have too much power for the unbelievers to really do anything.
the "angels" cult only allows "angels" to know/learn healing, water, and air magic, anything else is considered demonic. Holly used to know plant magic, but she stopped using it when she became a cult member and now she forgot how to do it. She's tried to learn the Magic types the cult approves of, but she's given up on it.
Fall knows some water magic, but he's really good at summoning and air magic. (I.e. summoning a sharp projectile and launching it through the air)
Sammy is a jack of all trades but he focuses on healing magic.
You can learn how to use magic types, but generally the first one that someone uses instinctively (without having any teaching on how) tends to be the one that person is good at, or it's the only magic they can do.
Some people physically can't learn different elements of magic because their skill is a certain element (Holly), others (like Sammy) can learn bits and pieces of all the different magics.
If someone is seen doing fire magic, they are immediately forced into learning something else (If a nonbeliever saw it) or they disappear into the cult's church for a little while/get banished. (If a cult member saw)
Fire color when using fire magic changes depending on the person.
if you can think of an element, it has a magic.

This is going to be an archive of my stories involving my OCs in my Angeltown universe. VERY OLD WRITING AT THIS POINT. Take that into account when reading (note: Porcilavians are a race I came up with and some of the race believes they are angels that need to purify themselves to get back...
