Long ago, before humans inhabited this world, a great alien spaceship crashed into the earth, obliterating the dominant life forms at the time. This craft laid buried for millenia afterward. However, nothing lost can remain lost forever, and thus the ship was found. The humans who found it are known today as the Indus River Valley Civilization. The aliens in the ship that they had awoken from cryo-sleep were worshipped as gods. Unfortunately, these new gods split. They disagreed on how to best utilize their followers. One group, calling themselves the Olympian Gods, believed that they should help their worshippers advance and evolve in exchange for offerings. The other group, calling themselves the Titans, believed that they should order their followers to do whatever they want with no thought of what their followers should receive in return. These two groups raged a bitter war. It seemed as though no side could win and lasted almost a decade. However, through use of biological weapons, the Olympians won. Not without cost, though. There were only 12 olympians left and the Indus River Valley People had been completely obliterated. Their cities still stood but the people had been disintegrated along with the Titans. Horrified at the tolls their war had taken, the Olympians moved to greece, not yet greece, and built a floating city above mount olympus, not yet mount olympus. This city was named Olympus.

Years later…

Years later a group of explorers looking to create a new civilization discovered the gods in their floating city, now populated by the god’s descendants and ruled by the gods. These new guys also decided to worship them as gods and went off and built a city which multiplied into more cities and more cities and soon there were lots of city states who all worshipped the same gods because hey, why not. Their language was derived from the god’s own language.

Not everything was well though. Greece fell and the roman empire took its place, worshipping the gods all the same. Then something happened. Something bad. A coup against the gods. Within Olympus there was discontent. Some thought the gods did not deserve to rule forever. Thus, they planted an agent within the humans to sow deceit. A member of the group slept with a human woman who gave birth to a son soon after. This son was, of course, Jesus. Jesus then did his whole messiah thing, displaying abilities gained by being half-alien such as walking on water and matter conversion. Then he was killed because the Olympians took notice and were kind of ticked. Unfortunately a couple years later christianity was made legal and soon after people attempted to storm Olympus to bring down the gods. They failed because the gods floated the city higher up until people forgot about them and even then they still had it float higher up. That's where they are today, watching over humans and doing other crud. Oh, and that whole coup thing made the gods form a secret police style organization so that's cool.

Places of interest:

The Palace of the Olympians: Where the Olympians live. The palace is a very posh place with a room styled for every olympian.

The main city: the main part of the city and the most prosperous. Most people live here.

Gods Square: a square with a statue commemorating the Olympians’ victory over the titans (they were horrified but also proud and vain).

The Aqueduct: a giant aqueduct system that brings water throughout the city.

The Slums: the poorer part of the city at the very edge.

The Works: the poorest part of the city, under the city, where slaves work to keep the city up in the air and the shield up.

The Shield Generator: the great shield surrounding the city is generated by this generator in the center of the city in the works.
