Yeah, I really didn't know how to word my title to this at all... I guess I could get to the chase of things. I'm not entirely your so called "New to role-playing". In fact, I do role-play at Feralfront.com. I've been role-playing on that site for about 7 so years. Though I am indeed new to this site. I came here all because of a friend of mine had told me she used to role-play here, and so I decided to come here to role-play with her and any new people.

But of course, every site is different with role-play styles and are picky about how many paragraphs you write and so forth. So I felt that it was necessary to make an introduction post no matter what. I do still role-play at Feral Front, so there will be some time with me as I balance role-playing here and there. As currently I am balancing three one x one rps and two group rps.

I guess what I can mention about is what I'm used to role-playing is what I call "semi-advance" role-plays. The amount I write varies of how much room you give me to write. Sometimes I can write more than two paragraphs to as little as just a few sentences. If you give me enough room, you can expect always two paragraphs, unless I'm low on muse that I just write one. I don't call myself "advance" because the fact is, what is grammar. I suck at it sometimes, especially when I'm up online in the middle of the night and my mind is extra fuzzy after a busy day of work.

What topics I normally role-play is:
  • Fantasy
  • Fandom based role-plays *I never like role-playing as canon characters as I feel like I butcher them. (SORRY TO ALL THE 1x1 RPS OF TOKYO GHOUL I'VE DONE IN THE PAST!!)
  • Slice of life
  • Romance
  • Drama
  • Action *This one I favor the most, I love intense battles.
  • Adventure *I've done many Pokemon based role-plays, but most never last cause people like fast pace and I tend to be slow paced...ahahaaa..
Yeah that's all I got, and this is probably hella long but oh whale.

I don't know about you, but my main issue with roleplaying canon characters is that it's a little bit like acting as a character people might interpret way differently than me. I used to roleplay as Bulma from Dragon Ball when I was younger, and I did hit the spots of her personality quite well, but I'd always add things of my own to make her more multi-layered, which some people had issues with. Right now I only roleplay canon characters if people are okay with me adding to them and sometimes removing stuff from their personalities and stories.

Yeah I have a problem where a little of "me" pops up into the character. Usually it happens with characters that I tend to have an easier connection with. Sometimes even softening up the hardened cool characters too much, or doing the opposite and making them too strong of a specific trait. Same goes for the soft spoken characters and so forth. I tend to catch myself doing that, but the person that I used to roleplay canon characters normally really didn't care. It was just the guilt that I didn't give them justice of who they are really and developing them into the roleplay correctly, haha. So I usually look into roleplays that are based off of fandoms, because there is no conflict into that because it's all original characters that are in the same universe as the fandom.

I feel you on the edginess! I've had a cringey warrior cats name username for the 7 years on the site I normally roleplay in (Not to mention some pretty edgy display names during those years).
