Some random dude on the Internet
The Galactic year is 1,877 G.U. (Galactic Unity), in Earth years it is 2038. The setting of a classroom appears, with various alien children of differing species sitting at metallic desks. An Alien that appears to be a teacher is talking to the class, with the first lesson about Ancient dangerous species that have died out.

Teacher: "Now today's lesson will be very special since today marks the end of The Great Galactic War that began in 300,047 B.U. And ended in 300,018. Can anyone tell me the opposing sides of the Great War?"

Alien Child 1: "The Huma-Xorgon Coalition and The Yevlon Pact!"

Teacher: "Correct! Now for those who don't know, The Huma-Xorpha Coalition was a military alliance between The Trigons, Xepho, and the most infamous of all... Humans. The Yevlon Pact was the Military alliance between most Council Races today such as The Urga, Jiop, Yinon, and Kelha. Now the side who won is Yevlon Pact. But our interest is not in the war itself but in the most dangerous species that was involved in it, Humanity. Could someone tell me what Humans are?"

Alien Child 2: "Humans were these giant scary monsters that ate children! And they were mean and smelly! And ugly!"

Teacher: "While that is amusing, it is Incorrect. Humans were a Bipedal race that had two arms as well. They had a head just like everyone else and are Omnivores. Not much is really known about them since they haven't been around for nearly 300,000 years but there is one thing everybody remembers! Can anyone tell me what it is?"

Alien Child 3: "They used Magic!"

Teacher: "Correct! Humans were mostly feared for their superior Magic powers! They were known as the most powerful Magi in the Galaxy, no other species could replicate the power Humans had. At the end of the war they were made extinct for fear of their magical abilities. Since most of their technology at the time required magic, they were unfortunately unusable for any Galactic Council species. Most Human tech is very rare with only a few relics existing in the entire galaxy. That will end today's lesson on Extinct Dangerous Species, tomorrow's lesson will be about Ferans."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the year 2045, Humanity has colonized Mars with a research base on the red planet. It was there that an anomaly was encountered. When the first astronauts arrived, they had discovered strange abilities within themselves. In reports it was very often described as 'Magical' with the abilities of varying types such as elemental, telekinesis, and healing. When brought home, none of these abilities could be replicated and was thought to be either lies or something that could only be done on Mars.

2063: Humanity had finally terraformed Mars and we're sending colonists in the thousands to the 'Red' Planet. After placing water and reviving old dead plants on the Martian soil, it became more purple than red with all the revived life on the planet. The anomaly had resurgence again and this time was proven true, every single colonist had a certain ability that was often described as Magic. Further study would be required.

2101: Humanity had finally spread throughout the solar system colonizing most planets with either cities, military bases, or Research stations. The gas giants were being mined for fuel for the ships Humans had in Space. Their magical powers were growing ever more stronger, to the point they began researching the idea of incorporating the magic into their technology. It was also at this time The Council of Aliens had found out about Humanity coming back, their plan had failed. They sent the Insurgence fleet to make sure Humanity never becomes a problem again. This is the beginning of The First Contact War.

2114: 3 years after the war, and Humanity was the victor. The alien fleet couldn't fight against the growing Magical powers of Humanity. No tactics could be found to fight against such a foe, and nothing they put up could fight against Human soldiers with magic. The only place they seemed to have an easy time in was earth due to the lack of magical powers but even then, the fleet couldn't survive. After the defeat of the aliens, Humanity had United itself and created a Galactic Nation, they called themselves The Solar Republic based on the star Sol. This is a republic very much in the sense of the United States in which the government is meant to serve the people.

2126: Humanity had incorporated the alien tech into their ships and now had attained FTL travel, they began to spread among the stars with vast amount of colonies. It is in the Gestalt system they are finally told about the Galactic situation, and how pretty much every council race hates their guts.

2168: Tensions are still high between the Galactic council races and Humanity, with war being close on the horizon. The Kelha and Humans are having a territory dispute, with humans colonizing a planet the Kelha once inhabited but left due to reasons. The Kelha state that they have a claim to the planet due to it once belonging to their empire, while Representatives of The Solar Republic state that the Kelha abandoned the planet and the space, There aren't even any outposts in the region to warrant influence of any kind. This is the current year.

These are dangerous times to live in the galaxy, more so for some than others. With humans expanding throughout the stars, there is concern another human empire will be formed. Heavy restrictions are placed on the Solar Republic and humans in general, limiting movement of any kind. Tensions are at an all time high and war is on the horizon.

While the races bicker amongst each other, something sinister is coming to the galaxy with a desire to take back what once belonged to it....

Humans: image.jpeg
Humans are the wild card of the Galaxy, they can be both geniuses and absolute idiots, Weal and strong, fast and slow. Their most remarkable trait is their ability to use powerful abilities often called Magic as they are the only species in the galaxy capable of wielding such destructive power.

Urga: image.jpeg
The Urga is a small reptilian race that's biggest asset is their intelligence. They are extremely weak creatures, with no real means of defense besides their technology. They typically fill out the more intelligence based roles such as doctors, scientists, and merchants. They are surprisingly spiritualistic.

Jiop: image.jpeg
These alien creatures are basically Centaurs in space, at least that's how humans see it. Their asset is their speed and mobility as well as their strength. They can hold up to 70 tons worth of weight and still be fast, making them great heavy ornament users. Often they are used as artillery beasts.

Yinon: image.jpeg
The Yinon is an alien species comprised of all females, they are very much ape like with their long hair thing and four arms. Their asset is Flexibility and adaptability, they are able to adapt to any situation with their wide arrange of skills. They are truly a jack of all trades. Oh and their children will always be their race no matter who they breed with.

Kelha: image.jpeg
This avian race has surprisingly no ability to fly since they don't have any wings. They are a verymilitaristic race valuing strength and power over everything else. Their biggest asset is their strength and prowess in combat. They are often to be viewed as the best soldiers in the galaxy, at least at the moment.

Xeropt ( Nothingness Nothingness ): image.jpeg
The Xeropt are a race of what humans tend to call 'Andriods' due to how they are appear to be mainly all robotic and have the appearance of humans. Their original 'manufacture' to their 'creation' is unknown to the other races of the universe due to how they tend to be very distant when it comes to questions about such things. Although they may appear human, they did not possess the ability to use what they consider 'magic' however their intelligence is not to be under estimated; although many Xeropt have attempted to duplicate the 'magic' that humans use, they are unable to do so. Yet, they have invented different sorts of enhancements that eventually ended up being apart of the 'creation' of each Xeropt when they are born to give them abilities that allow them to manipulate things that make it look like magic even if it is not.

These enhancements tend to range from either being incredibly fast, strong, agile, durable or even other variants. Other more rare enhancements that some Xeropt possess if their body can withstand the enhancements can range to controlling ice, water, fire or even the other possibilities. There are very few others who can possess different sorts of enhancements yet it is highly unlikely that it happens too often or at all.

The Xeropt are able to eat, drink, reproduce just like others can even though there is a large amount of machinery to their body. They are also able to age and die just like any other race can though they do not exactly bleed, when their 'flesh' is punctured or cut in anyway, the metal of their body underneath will end up showing as well as any wiring and electricity if it goes deep enough. They are able to feel pain and emotion just like any other race as well.

*More will be added Later*

The Graveyard of Civilization: In it are sterilized planets orbiting dead stars. Many races have different, conflicting opinions on the Graveyard, but the consensus is some galactic misfit went too far in a civil war, wiping out all possibility of native life in its bounds.

It was an old race - far older than any living race - but a short temper. They did not tolerate insubordinstion, and were aggressively expansive. Eventually 3 denominations broke apart, with different philosophies. Nobody knows what these philosophies were. During the intense civil war, they advanced greatly, trying to stomp each other out.

In their path to victory, they mastered the art of antimatter. Their ships were unrivalled. They invented monstrous weapons of war capable of obliterating a planet. At the height of the war, a few mere centuries before a cataclysmic intervention, one denomination discovered a way to trigger a sizable star's supernova prematurely.

An unsatisfying end to a bloody war. Across the Graveyard, gigantic stars erupted in near unison and bathed the entire sector in deadly gamma radiation. It is uncertain whether it was the species themselves, a natural occurrence, or intervention of supernatural origin.

Whatever it was, it was quick, efficient, and terrifyingly effective. The only remnants of this civilization is occasional metal structures in orbit around scarred planets, and rumors, legends, and folk tales.
So this is a space thing where basically tensions are high between the galaxy and our group will be going around the galaxy doing stuff. For anyone interested I'm putting up a poll to see what faction our characters will belong to as a whole like pirates or soldiers of the Solar republic, etc...

So if anyone is interested, cool! Now this may not be the best world building as I'm not entirely good at it, but I hope you guys are interested.

Tagging some peeps cause they may or may not be interested.

Oooh, interest.
But why magic tho? I am a man of SCIENCE and I will NOT be having any MAGYYKS tainting my PROFESSIONAL field of study!!!
(Still in though)

Sorry for the delay, yep interested.

Magic because why not, it gives Humans an edge over other more advance aliens, can't always go for the "Humans are boring and like average at stuff compared to these awesome aliens!" So I decided to spice it up with some good old magic!

Interested ~ <3

Yeah I’d be interested :D

Anyways sweet! Now I have something to say, if you guys want to make a new race say for a character, please pm me your alien race idea.

Knowing me and my addiction to lore creation, I most likely will create a new alien race :P

P.S. How many characters are we allowed per player

P.P.S I'm kind of digging the magic element. Does it only 'activate' for humans when they are off of Earth btw?

I'm allowing at least 3 characters.

Also yes it triggered when they left earth or was far enough away.

Nice. I'm very much interested into joining this and I do have a few ideas for races if you wont mind me sending them to you?

Lemme drop some science on this party.

The defining feature of humans isn't really intelligence. It's not strength. It's not bipedalism. It's not really technology either.
It's our sheer endurance.
We are endurance hunters. We chase prey slowly, until they pass out from exhaustion. And then we kill them, harvest meat, whatever it is we do after that.
Another fun add-on is our insane regenerative abilities.
No, we can't regrow limbs like lizards or starfish.
But what we can do is heal a cut in a few hours which would've kept anything else critically injured for days or weeks.
If you've ever bitten your cheek accidentally, you'll know what I'm talking about. Injuries in your mouth heal incredibly fast. Faster than you'd think.

I rest my case. But... magic works too, not to stomp on your lore - it's really interesting.

Oh I know this, but I wanted to make them stand out. To make them this powerful species that the entire galaxy fears, since such a concept isn't really explored all too often with science fiction. And I thought that magic while cliche would do the trick since its both powerful and is something that science can't really mess with, which is why Humans are extremely feared.

how in depth do you want the lore to be when we pm it to you for races?

Well, I want a detailed version and a short version like the races I have up. For the detailed version, go as far into depth as you want, just make it clear like separate it into categories for me so it's easier to read and understand.

When doing spacey sci-fi lore, I like to be the one who hides all the wondrous, uncertain, amazing, futile, epic, sad, exciting, and horrifying little details in the small corners of the galaxy.

Speaking of, expect a PM outlining the Graveyard of Civilizations, or the Graveyard Sector. Or something like that. Dont want to spoil the surprise.

Wow this gathered a lot more interest than I thought...

It will take awhile to get the Rp up and running just so you guys know, mainly since this is a much bigger Rp to go deal with.
