Name: Sir Jakob De Salza

Nationality: Kingdom of Balor

Age: 28

Personality: Sir Jakob is new to his knighthood and thus very prideful and arrogant in most ways. He is the type that, when confronted with a problem, is quick to use brute force or the most direct approach. Oddly, despite this ability to see himself as a hammer and every problem a nail, he does not anger quickly.

Jakob is quick with a laugh, especially at other peoples expense. A womanizer to the best of his ability and ambitious, he often has trouble separating which of those two things he values more. Hating The Empire of Satsuma is something he was told to do since he was a small child, and seeing them as anything but the enemy is often difficult for him.

Bio: Born to a middling noble family beneath the Duke of their territory, Jakob was groomed from an early age to be an exemplary knight. He understood most of the lessons given on any one topic when he wasnt busy flirting or gallavanting through the drill yards and showing off. His entire family breathed a sigh of relief when the Priesthood conducted their annual testing of adolescents and discovered he did not have any magical inclination.

After pursuing a fighting career and excelling at it, he was quickly picked up by Duke Wellington as a man-at-arms for the garrison. He has survived several border skirmishes with small enemy forces, and was adamant about craving more. He was less than thrilled, then, when he was selected as a bodyguard for a diplomatic entourage to the Empire where he is currently.

Equipment: belonging to a noble family has its perks, primarily being able to afford better gear. He usually wears a thick leather gambeson beneath his plate-mail armor, and a great helm etched with the symbol of his family crest on the side. He carries a mace and shield mostly, but is quite proficient in several other weapon types.

His shield is provided by the local garrison forces, who have all their shields inscribed with runes that can negate certain types of magics, such as destructive spells to varying degrees.

Strengths in combat: He excels at close quarter fighting and his heavy armor is immaculately taken care of to keep it in top fighting shape.

Weaknesses in combat: Jakob tires faster than other combatants as his armor is quite heavy. His mace is also somewhat ineffective against mounted or exceedingly fast opponents.

Other: Something that makes Jakob stand out is his desire to wear the heaviest armor possible... the infamous Colossus armor worn by the Kings guard is often a topic of which he will gush relentlessly. Armor fetish-y.

That's fine by me! A friend I met here and I planned this to be a sort of, Samurai versus Knights type of deal but with magic and diplomatic politicking.
