⠀     ‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ — A B O U T - M E

Hello! My name is Limes, I'm 23 years old, a graphic designer by trade and based in Germany (CET/GMT+1 but with a nonexistant sleep schedule) :)
I've had this account sitting around for literal ages (... over nine years now), and I figured now would be a good time to revive it.

Some more fun facts about me, I've been rping since I was around 12 and I got my start on Warrior Cats rp servers on Minecraft (of all things). So I've been rping for over a decade at this point. I've been playing D&D for two years now additionally, but I've really found myself missing prose RP.

I'm a healer/tank main in every game I play (including D&D).

⠀     ‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ — R O L E P L A Y

I am seeking a 1x1 lit to semi-lit RP based in the world of Dungeons & Dragons (as the title might suggest). I am not interested in a TTRPG/dice play game, I'm just looking to borrow (steal) the world of the Forgotten Realms, a large chunk of Gods, relevant spells, and bits of world-building (subject to change as we see fit, we're flexible here). It would be ideal if you had some experience with these specific aspects, either through D&D or Baldur's Gate. Extensive knowledge is not required, and hell, if you can just roll with the outlined elements even without prior knowledge, we're cool.

Here's some minimum requirements (not to sound like a snob, I promise I'm not actually scary):
  • Please be over the age of 18 at the very least, preferably 20+
  • Seeking specifically third-person prose-style RP
  • This is an OC call! I am not seeking any of the canon characters of D&D (gods excluded) or Baldur's Gate for anything other than set-dressing.
  • No minimum post length requirement, but ~a paragraph at least would be pretty cool! It's vibes-based and dynamic. The more the better. Heads up, I love character introspection and WILL write a lot of it without shame.
  • Romance (MxM, MxF) is cool and fine, but not the main thing I'm looking for. If it happens, it happens! If it's what you're out for, think slow-burn, side-plot ;)
  • Based on D&D doesn't mean full D&D rule restrictions. I don't care about class limitations for spells. If you provide a good enough reason for why your character can do a certain thing, your character can do that thing. Just, y'know, try not to mary-sue/gary-stu. The usual. Perfect characters are no fun.
  • I will be doubling when needed, I'm not a huge fan of when characters exist in a vacuum and have no one / nothing else to interact with. You are equally welcome to add your own "NPCs" to the mix and double up if the plot requires it. The idea is that we're both the DM here.
I'm super happy to accomodate any backstory you have if it's a fit! The below outline is important to my character, however, I am also comfortable moving the plot in any direction. I merely want to provide a potential starting point or long term plot goal, it is by no means a necessity.

CONTENT WARNINGS: ABUSE, DEATH (... necromancy), GRIEF, VIOLENCE, MENTAL ILLNESS, FANTASY RELIGION, CULTS

Heavy Topics(tm) are included! Please proceed with caution. Most of my characters are pretty miserable. I apologize in advance. I don't know if necromantic experiments count as medical trauma or not but if that's something you're sensitive to, that's there too.

Now, onto what I have to offer you:

1731548116338.jpeg
A long time ago, a young god by the name of Lathander - God of the Morning Light and Beacon of Life - wished to reshape the Pantheon of Gods in his own image, hoping, ultimately, to force a new age of benevolent Gods and to cast aside the darkness. Convinced of his own righteousness, he attempted to overthrow the Pantheon in an event that would become known as the Dawn Cataclysm. He failed. This was not without its price - several Gods and "powerful outsiders" lost their lives in the ensuing battle.

This is all ancient history, though an event of that magnitude was bound to cause a few grudges.

In the present day, a disgraced God, once destroyed but restored under mysterious circumstances by the Overgod Ao, is seeking to make his mark and reclaim his perceived right to full Godhood and seat at the Pantheon. Worshipped by a small cult following, Velsharoon is the god of necromancy, serving as patron to liches and those that explore undeath. Thwarted once before, he is determined to do it right this time. And doing so requires the removal of some, shall we say, major obstacles that seek to bar him entry to the pantheon. After all, this is his right. Why else would Ao have granted him a third chance at un-life?

The Temple of the Morninglord Lathander seeks to stop this second ascension at any cost - though they cannot stop what they are not yet aware of.

Veit Vitus • Life Cleric • Lawful Good

27 years old • Human (Variant)
1731552205348.jpeg
Born to a lower-class family and rendered parentless in relatively short order at a young age, Veit has been dealt a bit of a rough hand at life. Surviving on the streets with his younger sister, Oriana, he made due with what he could, eventually gaining an apprenticeship with a benevolent scribe in his mid-to-late teens. As luck would have it, just as he was about to finish this apprenticeship, desperation to prove herself useful (as well as a bit of a rebellious streak) drove Oriana to follow an interesting invitation by a travelling alchemist, Valdemar Solanine, to serve as a temporary 'research assistant'.

This, of course, was a trap. Oriana was captured by Valdemar, who revealed himself to be a cleric of Velsharoon and practitioner of some ethically dubious human experimentation in a bid to gain the knowledge needed to bring back his deceased wife. To bring her back properly. Sacrifices had to be made. It had to be perfect, after all. In these experiments, Oriana unfortunately lost her life for good. At least, that's what Valdemar said. Driven to the edge of sanity, branded with the mark of a god of necromancy and manifesting strange powers, Veit's final straw came when he was forced to use these new powers to leech the life from the one other test subject who'd made it that far. Veit snapped, killing Valdemar and running as far away as possible, turning to religion to overcome his tremendous guilt.

And what better religion to turn to than the Church of Lathander, the antithesis of Velsharoon, beacon of hope and rebirth and hope. Veit dedicated his life to wandering Faerun, using his Lathander-granted power to heal the broken and help the helpless, no matter what the personal expense.

This is where you find him - perhaps you are an adventurer, perhaps a commoner. Veit is a wanderer by nature - all we need to do is workshop a reason why your character and he cross paths!
