Wert
Something
Of Blood and Gold
- To hold the responsibility of an entire country on your shoulders is a heavy weight to bare. For some a crown is more than just a promise of riches, but a symbol of power. With it comes those who would die for us, and those who would wish us dead. After all, being in a royal court isn't always ease and grandeur. Even those of lower title, or simply the rich with no official title, can have a target placed on their back at any given moment. However, it isn't all bad things. Romance, lavish celebrations, beautiful dresses, and mysteries within stone walls leave many with a light heart despite the evils. With the armies of Freland on the brink of a full-blown war against another powerhouse, Eflon, it's not difficult to see why they have opened their court in hopes of guaranteeing alliances. Mid spring at Freland court is where many ladies and gentlemen of title or riches are gathering to forge agreements that could change the course of history.
Some of this world has yet to be discovered, and many of the countries that were established hundreds of years ago are constantly close to war. Alliances through marriages, trading, and loss are all that seem to keep some from declaring war. However, even these haven't stopped others from trying to conquer any country they see fit. The country of Eflon is a powerhouse despite it's relatively small size. Although the people living there are far from barbarians, it's often feared due to gaining most of its influence through battles, spies, and assassination. Skilled at war, but with a history of unstable rulers. It's currently at war with two smaller countries, and on the brink of war with Freland.
What is this exactly?
This roleplay is basically a historical royal court story with fantasy elements. It takes place in a different world to avoid having to follow actual historical events and we can surprise ourselves with the outcomes; However, it is still very similar to generalized history.
Where's the fantasy Elements?
The fantasy elements all come from one major element: magic. In this world, magic exists even though it may not be what you're thinking. Magic is a taboo and dark source. It costs something to use it, and never leaves it's user untouched. While many don't believe it exists, they still hold a fear of it.
This will be further explained when the Lore is completed.
Would you like a co-gm?
Yes, I'd love one.
Face Claims?
I'd rather use detailed descriptions, but realistic face claims are okay, too. Mix them up if you want!
Rules?
⇺ All RPN rules apply.
⇺ Communicate out of character. This roleplay wont get far at all without communication.
⇺ If you leave without warning for seven days your character will be killed off. If you want the to leave the roleplay without killing your character, we can work out a way!
⇺ Drama, romance, and intrigue are necessities in this roleplay. Don't be afraid to make a character who likes to stir things up, but leave that stuff in the roleplay.
⇺ Don't be afraid to ask questions and suggest things.
⇺ I'm not super strict about post length. I don't want any one-liners, and I'd like at least a little detail. Give us something to work with.
So, these aren't first come first serve. Yes, you can reserve a role until you make a CS for it, but I can't promise it will be accepted. If you'd like to play as a Queen or King I ask that you discuss things with me before making a character for them.
