In a dystopian post-apocalyptic world that has separated its population into five factions, each defined by a given set of values, personality traits, and social affiliations with the hopes of eliminating future war and violence. It was believed that if each person selects their faction and focuses only on their faction's morals everyone will be equal and there will be no conflict. However there is one exception, Divergents. They are believed to be someone who needs to be feared an eliminated since they pose a threat to the faction system since they pose the qualities of every faction thus making them harder to categorize and control. You do and don't belong anywhere.
Each year every boy and girl that turn 18 are required to take what is known as an Aptitude Test that is a rigorous process to help determine which Faction you belong to. The test typically results in your born-factions leaving few Faction changes. Although you are not required to chose which Faction the test tells you the day of the choosing ceremony.
The Choosing Ceremony, the day where all of the Factions gather together that consist of the 18 year old's participating in the ceremony, their family, and the higher ranking officials of each faction ready to welcome their new recruits and guide them to their new home. The Ceremony is held in a different faction each year and the leader of that official faction directs the ceremony. Each boy and girl will be called up by name in reverse alphabetical order to chose their Faction which is an unchangeable act, so you much chose well. Once called up the 18 year old must cut their hand with a knife and let their blood run off of their hand and drop into their chosen faction's metal bowl. Grey stone for Abnegation, Water for Erudite, Soil for Amity, Burning Coals for Dauntless, and Glass for Candor. After the ceremony ends, you leave with your chosen District where you will live out the rest of your life.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I want to have the same general concept and plot as the books/movies but would prefer a gender reversal where YC is the Divergent male leaving the factor they were born into to join Dauntless and meet my character (F) who will be taking the place of Four, and be the love interest of YC. YC will do their best to remain in hiding and not reveal their true status as Divergent. They are deemed automatically criminals of war as well as anyone knowing harboring and alined with them. The original plan is to kill them on sight until a box from their founders is discovered and only a Divergent can open it. Soon, they're all being rounded up and one by one forced to attempt to open this box, killing whoever fails to open the box in the process. The higher Divergent percentage the higher the chances of the box being opened, and YC is at its maximum at 100% and highly sought after.
That is the general gist of most of it for those who haven't read/watched the movie. Anyways, I'm looking to find a general reversal with mainly original characters and conquering the enemy can be completely different if we so please I would like to put our (if you're interested) own spin on a few things to make it our own, stolen basic idea, but our own. I'm open to changes and feel free to message me if you're interested or would be more interested if something was added/removed.
Lately I've been playing solely males (which I'm totally fine with and even a fan) so I wanted to try a female role with a little added twist to a fandom I enjoy.
ALSO, in the books/movies the Choosing Ceremony was for 16 year olds and I have it changed to 18 year olds since I myself am an adult (and with most things and romances 100% only write with fellow adults AKA 18+) and prefer to play adults myself as well as I would be playing a character that is a few years older making it a very fine line between minor and adult which I would rather not cross.
