Yung & Tora

Cards were scattered all over the floor of Yung's room, a lava lamp in the middle of the whole happening acting as the only illumination in the night. The boy frantically ran his hands through his hair, wracking his brain for new strategies to come up with.

"Aaaah, I can't get rid of this guy... but this card could really help... Guaaah...!"

The boy groaned and let himself collapse backwards over the floor, staring upwards at the roof. His vision was soon obscured by a certain Barian leaning forward and letting her face hover over him, judgmentally staring at the boy. She also decided to lecture him.

"Giving up isn't going to help. You need to consider your deck carefully for tomorrow."

The boy shot up and spun around, sitting cross-legged while staring back up at Tora.

"I know, I know! It's just so hard to settle on a strategy... and it feels like ages since I've last dueled!"

The woman sighed and stepped back into the hammock she used to sleep in, resting her head in the palm of her hand while staring back at the boy.

"You never change, do you...? But I don't think you need to worry too much about your deck. I think sticking to your current strategy will work just fine for now, it's not worth it to risk anything."

Yung turned again and stared intently at all the cards strewn about one more time. He let out a long, drawn out breath in resignment and started to pick up his cards again, forming his deck the way it was before. Once it was complete, Yung picked one card out of it and stepped back into his bed, laying on his back so he could stare up at it. Even in the dim moonlight, the brilliant gold lettering showed Number 98 clear as day.

"I just hope I can make this guy proud..."

Ryuuchi Ryou

"Come! Number 17: Leviathan Dragon!"

The wind roared around Ryuuji as he summoned his Numbers in the alleyway just outside of his run-down squat, water surging around a cocoon which unfurled into the majestic dragon he held. He wasn't dueling anyone, the punk just wanted to summon it to feel the power coarsing through his veins. The number 17 burned itself into the back of his right hand, the pain he felt being nothing compared to the adrenaline coarsing through from the beast's summon.

"Hahaha... with you, I'm fuckin' invincible ain't I? Hahaha!!"

Ryuuji outstretched his arms and laughed maniacally at his dragon, its aura exuding such pressure that it kicked up a gust by itself. Ryuuji's leather jacket fluttered in it for a short while, up until he raised up his Duel Disk again.

"Now return!"

With a mighty roar, Leviathan Dragon returned to its cocoon state and sank back into the ground. Ryuuji picked up the Number from his Duel Disk, watching the evil aura around it glow a bright purple.

"You and me are gonna win it all, Leviathan... we're gonna claim every last fuckin' numbers in this city as ours!"

Lightning struck as Ryuuji hoisted it up into the air, maniacal laughter following soon after.

Joker/JK
The journey was not what he'd previously expected but that was life as one could know it. Walking into a dark alley under the night sky with a common glare of his while he considered what all he knew so far. A tournament drawing duelists in great number wasn't a shock it was rather obvious to expect. But there was a familiar air about it all, this Takumi seemed rather fake in his sincerity of welcoming and hosting such a event. But maybe it was his pessimistic or realistic nature as he saw it and of course his shadier past that told him to keep an eye on this Takumi and the tournament as whole beyond what it was to the naked eye. He had every intention in taking part yet that was simple intent for his own reasons, now something more called for him to look into matters on a deeper level.

Taking another step before pausing in the alley with his back leaning against the brick wall, eyes looking down from the sky toward where each of his decks were located. A deep breath taken in and exhaled with a sigh as his feet settled into place upon the ground with the heel of his left boot lifting up and pressing against the wall, his head leaning back while his eyes once again looked toward the night sky namely the moon and its nearest stars. "One day Takumi.... We shall meet and your true purpose shall become clear to me." Joker softly whispered to himself. "It shall be just the start of our meeting...."
