Right, right, makes sense.

Huh. I think that would be pretty cool? Like you using that other character as well?

I mean, I don't really pay too much attention, but it seems the same?
Thanks. But I don't know, at most as just a NPC maybe if at all. I just got to work some decks before deciding, battery man idea may be short of 40 with Rl cards.

Oh I see. Probably just me then since I've not seen the show. Yet.

A NPC works. We need more of them anyway. XD

Yet you say. XD

Cool. I may use him the for NPC. Idk depends on if I get least one of his decks complete. Not enough monsters for the Batteryman idea.

Haha yep, I've been so caught up in rewatching GX, I've not yet started back on Zexal or Arc V.

You could maybe add different monsters? Kinda like how Yasuo has a lot of different beast-themed monsters. Crystal beasts and none?

I've been watching Arc-V a lot lately. I kinda stopped re-watching Zexal. Whoops.

Currently trying that, I'm just seeing a lacking of fitting monsters for them. No thunder types except for a few (Outisde of Batterymans) in my remaining collection. Thought about adding the Ojamas and other light types to help, but still mostly traps and spells and too many at that. Might scrap it for now and work on another idea since he would have like six decks. Leaving the batteryman deck as referenced deck but not actually used in the story (like GX did with Bastion and many unfinished decks for other characters)

It happens haha. I was planning on watching Zexal and stuff to check out and understand this new era better, but find myself back to GX a lot.

That makes sense. You could do something like that if you wanted?

GX was a great arc in Yu-Gi-Oh so I can see why you'd watch it a lot.

I could give you some assistance with your batterymen deck! I love batterymen! A well built batteryman deck can easily just recover from nearly any major blow and dish out some serious destruction! Plus with the right cards you can easily get an OTK or just spam the entire board with monsters that all have 2600 or more atk basically forcing your opponent to bash through your monsters to actually get to you. Batterymen are fun. :3

Experimenting whilst repeatedly going through my remaining collection of cards. I used to try building a batteryman deck growing up and I had most of the cards of the time, (not sure if more came out since my childhood) haha

It was great! Rewatching the "Nature of the draw" episode today reminded about Damien and how annoying that constant Tarzan call was xd Interesting deck though.

I'm all ears or eyes to add technicality. Haha I loved the archetype too and saw after going through my old collection that I still had them. Or most of the GX era cards they had and I obtained.

That deck sounds more and more like a fit. I remember the cards I have being quite useful and spamming them. So I'd appreciate any advice you have and Kit too

Alright! Do you have a list of cards currently in the batteryman deck or not? Because if not I can give you a solid starting decklist to work off of as well as explanations of how it works and list off a couple of other cards that might work well with it. If you do I can just as easily give a few suggestions that would work well with what you've currently got! Either way is fine with me really. ^-^

extra normal summons[/B], AND you could add Thunder King Rai-Oh for a painfully annoying card that can stop an opponent's special summon and keep them from searching their deck for ANY cards. Oh, and you're going to want Photon Lead, since despite the name it's not a photon card but a generic light support card that lets you special summon a light monster from your hand... That's literally it. No downsides, just, just that. And it's a quick-play too. So...yeah. Pretty darn powerful. HONEST is also a pretty good choice, as well as shining angel. Honest is just pure evil since it's a light related archetype, and Shining Angel can search out a TON of cards in a batteryman deck, but it's also somewhat slow. There's also Thunder Sea Horse, which you can discard to add 2 Thunder monsters from your deck to your hand as long as neither of them have more than 1600 attack. Inferno reckless summon is PRETTY good because it opens up quite a few strategies, however it can be incredibly risky. Makiu the Magical Mist is a pretty good card to run with Batterymen but...it makes you unable to use your battle phase so...put it at one at most. Beckoning Light is really funny. Discard your entire hand, add 3 industrial strengths to your hand, summon them all. It's incredibly impractical, but, still. Judgement of Thunder allows you to destroy any card your opponent controls once you summon a Thunder monster. It's good. Very good. Trap Stun fits the theme and allows you to use Short Circuit or...really anything without worrying about traps. Also...Luminize. It is literally Honest in Trap form. And last but not least, a very strange card to include...Wattcannon. Whenever any level 4 or lower Thunder monster is summoned, once per turn you can inflict 600 damage to your opponent. In other words poke away at them and get that last bit of damage you needed to otk them. That is...everything I can think of off the top of my head. :/

Ooh, batterymen. I had a deck around them once, focused on getting three AA's on the field for an otk. Fun times, fun times. Of course, that was back when the game still cared about beaters...man do I feel old.

Haven't been getting notifications for these threads for a few days. Odd. Anyway, made a tiny change to Aella's CS—gave her an alternate deck to use when rank-up magic becomes an important plot point.

EDIT: Speaking of, I need a place to jump back in. Sorta shot myself in the foot by having my characters walk away from everyone else. Any characters out there in need of interaction?

I'll likely use a combo of Rl and deck builder to make this deck happen for him. Since some cards I just don't have anymore or never did pending the card and era.

But this helps a lot thanks!

Welcome back and yeah..... I feel you. Old School dueling had a lot of styles and tactics that seem obsolete now or just doesn't fit the times.

Glad I could help. ^-^ A lot of these cards are actually pretty cheap to obtain IRL too...and by that I mean you could probably buy 3 copies of every single card I mentioned for less than 50 bucks. WAY less. As in less than 20 bucks possibly. Yeah, Batteryman is a budget deck, but a darned good one!

Ah old school dueling...how I miss it so. Things have just become way too fast...

About that.

Apparently, the new type of summong getting introduced in the next season, link summoning, is supposed to slow the game down at least a little. Fingers crossed, eh? Yugioh became a lot less fun when you could go through half your deck with one combo and each duel was over in three or four turns.

Link summoning isn't even out but people have already figured out ways to get out 6 link monsters in a single turn starting with only one monster...if anything Link summoning which I hoped would slow it down seems to be about to speed it up unless Konami releases a banlist to, you know, prevent that from being an issue.

I'm slowly buying some more cards. Would love to purchase the Shark deck for newer dueling, Amazoness because I love that deck, Batteryman now too. But am restricted until bills and car payment, etc are caught up, sadly enough. But awesome to hear the deck is a cheap one to buy and build. A good bit of info thanks ^^

I miss it terribly now that I'm back in the flow of Yugioh again. It seemed much closer to my style of dueling and just idk I grew up on that style. I'm like a old timer now, learning the new stuff. Xd But I miss too.

Amazoness is gonna be pretty expensive for a while, due to Konami giving it some serious hype with revealed support. Shark decks...aren't a good example of newer dueling I hate to say. It's highly outclassed and, well...I hate to sound rude but you'd probably get curbstomped by anyone playing a modern archetype since they've become so absolutely insane.
o-o" I can give some good examples of modern archetypes to use if you want...no guarantees that they're budget though.

I seriously miss old yugioh so much. ;3; I remember when pulling off insane strategies took a lot of pre-preparation and skill. 5ds ended that... Zexal fixed that...for a few months before breaking itself...and then Arc-V introduced a mechanic that balanced out the broken stuff!...until they became a part of the problem. =-= Now the only way to play Yugioh slower is to play stall/lockdown/control decks. *sigh*

It will likely be a slow process for he Amazoness cards then Haha. Still aim to get them at some point though.
Newer dueling to me is everything 5 D's and up. I'm old school to the core, haha. Shark deck I've enjoyed using and fits my style of not relying on OP cards to win or just those irritating decks of power and speed playing them. Challenging perhaps but I've often chosen decks opposite of the mainstream it seems. Going by the ones I see often online and in Rl.

Yeah! Can't agree more here. Old school required more tactics and prep to pull off the insane and power based moves. While lower level monsters had more purpose and chance to wipe out opponents through strategy and power up effects and abilities. It seems to me anyway. Now it's like XYZ first couple of turns or bust or considered bust/odd tactics. Etc, etc. could be wrong, but what I now consider Regular monsters seem more as pawns for the new summonings and getting the new era cards out onto the field.

Oh? Well...then I think I know something you might like. It's not broken, but it's powerful and fun and can...erm...usually compete with Meta Decks sometimes. Rank 10 turbo! Basically rank 10 trains but with Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord and Tragoedia and a few other things. It relies around quickly getting out powerful, yet balanced XYZ monsters that can cause some serious trouble if not dealt with and are great offensively and defensively.

It's not just XYZ, but, yeah, it's either FIRST TURN SUPER OP BOARD or BRICK HAND GIVE UP YOU CAN'T WIN. That is...unless you're playing something like Evilswarms or Subterrors, because all they need is one, maybe two monsters to set up a hilarious strategy that is incredibly difficult to get around. Subterrors are basically "Oh, you wanted to attack me? Yeah thanks for that now I just got rid of your strongest monster because you decided to be stupid and not think things through. I don't need tons of monsters to beat you." and Evilswarms are basically "I heard you wanted to special summon spam? Now you can't. Oh, and you can't search your deck either. So use actual strategy if you want to win.". That isn't to say that modern decks other than these two don't require strategy! It's just that these ones specifically screw with the ones that don't and make your opponent actually have to use their brain. :p Then again I am somewhat biased towards them. :/

Holy shit you guys. I got watch Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged and you guys talked up a storm.

Also, Bird, I see that your icon is Bill. XD

Sorry, I'm a bit of a rambler. :p Once I get started talking about something I have trouble getting myself to stop...or to keep it short.

And yes, yes my icon is Bill. Bill is the best. ;3

Noo, don't be sorry. I don't mind it at all. Tis what the OOC chat is for after all.

He is. The best demonic Dorito ever. XD

Oh, well, uh, sorry for apologizing then?

Bill is one of those characters who is seriously hard not to like. :p So, I'm going to guess you're a Gravity Falls fan too?
