Bug Notifications Bug anyone?

Recently I've been getting this bug where I'm not getting notifications for posts I've been following/watching and participating in. I don't know if anyone else has made a post on this before but I was wondering if maybe others were having problems with this? Is this a typical thing? Is it site-wide or just on my end? Thanks for any help and responses to come.

Yea it really is lol. I've missed a weeks worth of stuff in this one RP lmao.

I've noticed it happening for me particularly if I've got the thread open in another tab of my browser (extra annoying points if the thread in the other tab doesn't update with the new posts), or when I think I've read all the new posts in a thread but don't realize there's now a new page of that thread with more new replies. In both cases, the system thinks I've read the alert but don't want more alerts until I've caught up, but I'm not caught up because I don't know there's new posts. >.> Annoying indeed, and I wish we could fix it, but for now it's just part of the inherent alert system in the site software. Definitely on our wishlist of things to change if and when we can, though.
