Every rose has its thorns
Character A's sister\brother was brutally murdered in cold blood, overcome by grief and anger, he\she now seeks revenge on the killer, who could be anyone. The kill was done so professionally that not even the police could pick up any evidence, leaving Character A at a bump in the road.
He\she starts to place flyers for a partner, a helper in tracking. That's when Character B shows up on his\her door step, completely drenched from the storm the night before and ready to help. The only thing is, what character A does not know that this person they are putting what little trust they have left in, is the one that committed the crime. Now character A is on a wild goose chase with the killer at their side.
Character B slips up one day when overexcited, blurting out about how easy his\her sister\brother was such a easy kill, and that the next will be as appeasing as the last. This leaves Character A in shock and horror, rage taking over their motives.
