Not receiving alerts

TurtleGod

Just a Turtle. 50% Hitler.
I've been registered in a lot of roleplays, although a few I just seem to not get alerts for. I check my watched threads, and the pages seem to have advanced without me getting any alerts whatsoever. It renders me useless to get back in that roleplay most of the time. I don't check my watched threads a lot, meaning I can't know if the roleplay's advancing or not and if I should reply or not. Even when I'm tagged, I still don't get alerts for those roleplays I haven't gotten alerts for and posted in for some time.

If you get an alert and don't check it, eventually you will stop getting alerts. It is basically to help you from not getting spammed and waking up with over 100 notifications (Though I don't think we have any actual control over this.) Basicly you need to keep making sure you check it every time you get a notification. Ignoring it will make you stop getting them, even with the thread watched.

And to add onto Ricia's comment, you need to go to the latest post in that thread, not just the last post you read. =)

Okay. Although, I've checked it and decided not to respond on a few, it still doesn't give me alerts for that until I actually reply.

Are you simply dismissing the notification (like hovering over the link), or are you clicking on it to view the thread? You need to view the thread, and read the very last post that was made. This should reset the notification for you.

I am viewing the thread, but I haven't read the last page that was made. Thank you for your help.

Yep, no problem. =) And remember, not the last page, but the last post. I hope this solves it for you!

@TurtleGod, Thanks for being patient and let us know if you have any more problems.

This feature is not one we created and comes built into the software we use so we don't really have any control over it.
