Gods are a specific type of spirit that get there energy and strength from emotions, ideas, and prayers from the people who worship them. The more worshipers a god has the more powerful they become. A god gathers nourishment from the worship and prayers of others and if a god does not have enough worshipers it often must substitute physical food for the spiritual energy they are lacking.
Spirits that are tied to the land and receive their strength from that same land. Elemental spirits are often very powerful and can be a god and an elemental spirit at the same time. Elemental spirits lose a lot of their power if they move too far away from their "root" and can die if separated from it for too long.
Spirits not tied to anyone or thing, the most common spirit and has many forms . A free spirit can turn into other spirits most often Regalia. They are normally weakened by having no attachments and are prone to corruption. When someone dies with a large amount of regrets they become a type of free spirit know as a wandering soul.
A spirit who has fallen into temptation and has been tainted by evil. They develop a hunger for other souls/spirits to fill the dark void within themselves.
Spirits that change shape into a weapon, animal, or object to be used by others created through a process of purification called Forging done by a god or high level spirit. A bounded spirit receives a new name by their master and seal is formed on their body. Bounded spirits hold great power but require a user to be able to fully use their power.
Priests - Humans who work at shrines. They can see spirits and often have more spiritual energy than average people. They are trained in in the arts of rituals ranging from blessing of good luck to exorcism of spirits.
