The town of Angel Vale is a town founded for and by martial artists. It has a complex history dating back to the second world war. It's renown as a hub for martial arts throughout the world, hosting the most prestigious martial arts tournament in America. Over the past decade or so it's gotten a bad rap. It leads the nation in un-armed assaults. The rise of karate street gangs have become a problem for the city. Clan fights have incurred innumerable damage to the city, and has placed the once peaceful and prosperous city in somewhat of a bad light. This is basically inspired by the beat-em-up and martial arts scene of the 80's and early 90's. Street Fighter 2, Streets of Rage, Cobra Kai. You get the idea. I'd call the trope Urban karate fighters.
Dragon Clan - Evil Aligned - The antagonistic force of the roleplay. The most dominant, numerous and ambitious of the bunch. The Dragon Clan is the most influential clan of Angel Vale. These guys are B.A.D, well not always...there's always exceptions to the rule but their philosophy summed up is "No Mercy". Their rivals are: Tiger and Turtle. Sometimes Cobra.

Tiger Clan - Law Aligned - While not outright evil, they adhere to Aku Saku Zan "Slay Evil Immediately." Which sometimes makes them just as bad as what they're trying to stop (Dragon). Tiger clan is perhaps the most fearsome of the 4 clans, with their relentless fighting style. They are a somewhat strict traditional kind of martial arts clan. Their rivals are: Cobra. Dragon

Turtle Clan - Good Aligned - What some would consider the nice guys of the martial arts world. They are typically compassionate and easy-going sort. Though that's not to say they're pushovers, the opposite. Of all clans, Dragon clan regards Turtle as it's greatest threat and adversary. They are renown for their defensive techniques. They believe in self-improvement and moral righteousness as principles. Their rivals are: Dragon. Cobra. Sometimes Tiger.

Cobra Clan - Chaotic aligned - Last but not least. The Chaotic Cobra. Cobra is often misunderstood, the black sheep of the martial arts world. Sometimes good. Sometimes bad. They're just in it for the thrill of it. Originally an off-shoot of Dragon. Cobra has a sort of understated "coolness". They don't really care about tournaments. Cobra is all about individuality. They're known for their acrobatic ninjutsu, and weapon mastery. They tend to attract outsiders. Their rivals are: Everyone.
