If you think about it, the dead always outnumbered the
living. It just wasn’t a problem when they stayed dead.
Now it’s all too clear that there’s more of them than of us.
And as our numbers shrink, theirs grow.

—The End of The World: Zombie Apocalypse
It’s the end of the world. The beginning of the zombie apocalypse. That’s pretty much what you’re going to know about it. I’m not here to tell you how it will start, what the timeline of events will be, what kind of zombies the characters will be facing. No. You, along with your character, will figure that out as the story progresses.
This game is based on the first book of the series The End of The World, Zombie Apocalypse (by Fantasy Flight), which has rules and guidelines for a tabletop experience, and five different scenarios. Here, we won’t be using the rules they have described, as this isn’t tabletop and we won’t be using dice. I ask that you do not look up the scenarios, as this would ruin the experience for you. Also, don’t look up the “Running the Game” part if you do decide to look at the book. This is absolutely not necessary. You do not need to read the book to participate in this RP. I will handle the story progression, you guys will just need to help me move it along.
I know. This is a gamble, you have no idea if this will pan out to be a good plot or not. But consider this: I didn't come up with the plot all by myself, I'm using a scenario developed for tabletop RPG campaigns by professional writers. It's good shit. Now, of course, the development of the story will also rely heavily on the characters’ choices, so I will try to adapt as you make decisions for your characters.

The rules are as follow:
• All rpnation.com rules must be followed;
• A maximum of 2 player characters per player (no limits for non-player characters, as long as you can handle them);
• Characters must be 18+;
• Players must be 18+ (if you are underage you can still participate, as long as you are 16+ and sign a statement saying you agreed to participate and understand the nature of this RP);
• This is a mature RP, but that's because of horror, gore, and violence, not because of sexual content. If things heat up between your characters, take it to the DMs;
• Your character will start with one or two melee weapons, no guns at the first few posts once things start;
• Please don't exaggerate and say your character found a full stock of supplies, gear or equipment in one room. If you've ever watched The Walking Dead, you will know what I intend to do with this RP. I want the characters to grind to find stuff for survival, it's not supposed to be easy;
• I understand a busy schedule, but try posting at least once a week, even if it's a small paragraph. I don't care if you can't post 5 paragraphs. Just keep the RP alive and the story moving;
• That said, do try to post at least two paragraphs, let's aim for a decent amount of details;
• Character images must be real people. Not digital art, not anime/manga. Real people;
• Be respectful to your fellow players. Your character, however, doesn't need to be respectful to their character if they don't get along but keep things separate.
If you can’t abide by the rules you will be invited to leave the RP and your character killed.

I’ll be accepting a maximum of 8 characters, and they will have to be approved by me. At some point in the RP, I will ask you to update your equipment section. That will have to be a part of your turns, so every time you post, the equipment your character has on their person will have to be listed somewhere on the post. There will also be two kinds of characters.
- player character
The Player Character (PC) would be your main character, the protagonist of your story. This would be the character you're trying to keep alive no matter the cost, and whom we would not kill unless you clearly gave permission or asked to do so. As I said, I'll take up to a maximum of 8 of these characters, and they will have to be approved by me. I would really love to see people coming up with rich characters, albeit characters based on real everyday people. I want to see your average shop owner fend for himself in the apocalypse. I want to see your UPS driver scavenging for supplies. I want to see a student desperately looking for shelter. Military characters, alongside police officers and people with hunting skills or firearm proficiency, might still be accepted, depending on how you paint them, but you will have to convince me. Because I don't want this to be easy for the protagonists. I want them to suffer and grind.
- non-player character
The Non-Player Character (NPC) would be the secondary characters that are also necessary to keep the story going. You can and are welcome to play them if you'd like, only needing to fill out a small and quick character sheet (that also needs to be approved), but no one is forced to play them. If you only want to stick to your main character that's totally fine. However, one of the reasons I encourage the participation of NPCS, is that a good horror zombie apocalypse story isn't complete without a lot of blood and deaths. Our main characters aren't going to die, though, so who will? The NPCs. They also might aid our characters in times of dire need when we least expect, and you are welcome to come up with a new NPC at any time in the RP. In addition, the posts for the NPCs can be much shorter and less detailed than for your main character (even ranging from a few sentences to a paragraph if you'd like), and I hope this will encourage people to play them.

I hope this will be an exciting adventure for everyone included. Even though I will be taking events and ideas off of the book, ideas and suggestions are more than welcome. I love having players participate in worldbuilding and helping build the story. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Also, I suggest taking a look at the characters already in the game so that you might get some inspiration or even collab with other players!
