That Weird girl

Reach Out to the Truth
It was a crisp autumn day as the new avenger recruits were going be briefed by Nick Fury about what they were going to be doing. He has selected these individuals based on their scores on the training exam for avengers. He was going to have Hercules mentor the young heroes since Thor was unavailable because he was doing something else. The god of strength looked at the recruits with a smile and hoped that these heroes would stick around long enough to become a team. He knew that being a hero took more than just powers, it took heart. These youngsters were eager to fill in the avengers shoes and Hercules could tell which made him excited to mentor these heroes. The first mission would be...interesting but Hercules would not let these kids die so there was no worry there.

"My fellow heroes," Hercules spoke up, "you probably all know me or has heard of me from school...if not I am Hercules the Greek god of strength and yes I did fight Thor before." Hercules did not have to say that part but he was Hercules so yeah. "You all have been selected because you all passed the avenger exam," the god continued on, "because of your effectiveness in battle, quick thinking skills, or magical power." Hercules scratched his head not quite getting how magic worked still but that was fine since he could punch his way through anything, well mostly. The god pressed the button on the clicker he was holding and showed a powerpoint of their scores on the exams with them scoring really good.

Nick Fury then took the mic from Hercules and looked at the young heroes, "I trust you all know how dangerous your job is going to be....you won't be facing little tiny threats anymore, you will be facing powerful beings and Intergalactic threats that only the big shot heroes handle." Nick turned to the doorway and waited for any of them to flake out and question their life decisions. Nick wanted to drill in the importance of the job and this is no kiddie shit to be taken lightly. "Well I warned you," Nick said and clicked showing a hologram of a Hydra compound in Serbia, "A few weeks ago we had the tesseract stolen by Hydra...your first assignment is to infiltrate this compound and get back the tesseract before it falls in the hands of Daniel Whitehall or better know as, Doctor Reichardt." Nick then pushed another button showing a slide of Hydra experiments, "Some Hydra agents will have powers like yourself so never underestimate your enemy."

"Now any questions?" Nick asked them all. He wanted to make sure they understood the mission and their role as avengers. Time would tell if they can live up to the original avengers and maybe they could do better. The new recruits would be tested to the best of their ability and could they succeed?

Eddie stood next to Nicole wearing his combat gear. "Is there any Civs in the area." Eddie pulled up his copy of the hologram and after a minute he formulated several escapes and improvised plans.

Sitting here, right here, was where she had always wanted to be. And it wasn’t quite how she pictured it, because this was even better. Looking forward, the people right here in this room could become something great. And this world would no doubt need it.

Being here also felt unreal. A year ago, it would have been unimaginable. But everything she had given was worth it to prevent Hydra from doing what they did to her to other children. Nobody else would have to become what they made her.

Nick Fury himself gave them their first mission. He didn’t make someone else do it. He did it. Meaning this wasn’t something to be taken lightly. They weren’t children anymore. They were the next Avengers. They had the power to make and shape the world. While Hercules was an odd addition, his skills would undeniably be needed and relied upon by the group. While every member was invaluable, they all lacked experience. They scored high on their tests, yes, but their true test would be out there. Out there, where the smallest action could have the biggest consequences. Out there, where the decision might need to be made about committing a lesser of two evils. Was Brig even ready for this? She thought she was a few minutes ago, but now? Now she doesn’t know what she is. She thought about taking the chance to leave when Nick gave it, but she had given too much to be here. If she was here, she was going to stay.

The mission hit a little close to home. The compound was standard for Hydra. Certainly, there were horrors lurking behind those walls. And with the help of the tesseract, the horrors could be multiplied. There was no option to fail.

She spoke slowly, trying to make the English feel a little less foreign in her mouth. “Do we have the inner layout?” Getting in would be a big problem, but getting out in time would be a bigger problem. What Hydra agents there would give them a hefty challenge, but they would be doomed if the compound had enough time to signal for backup. Time and efficiency would have to be priority. Formulating a plan would shave off time, giving the team more of an upper hand. And having more knowledge could help any one of the team make a last-minute decision.

C.A.L.I.E/ Minako

They didn't ask to be here, but they had too. The Android was in their Holosuit mode, Disguised as a woman with blonde hair and green eyes watching and listening to Hercules introducing himself and then showing the PowerPoint of their scores, Minako wasn't really surprised that they scored that well as they were Intelligent Android with the best system to boot. At nick giving out the mission and the others questions, She did have one question herself."Do we know, Where inside of the building is the tesseract contained in?"Minako asked. The Android wanted to be clear on where exactly is it or they'll have to find it.

Eddie was nervous about the tesseract being involved along with the new team, before they were massacres he had an effective team: Demo, Crossfire, Void, Terminal, and Glitch. He would adapt, and survive but accomplishing the mission would need to have no complications. He used his technopathy to send a signal to his Armory/Computer to prepare several weapons and tools according to Hercules presentation and the building schematics.
