Plot:
When most people think of New York City, they often envision one of the city's five boroughs: Manhattan. The island is home to world-renowned attractions, such as Central Park, the Empire State Building, the Met, and the MoMa. Thousands of cafes, bars, restaurants, museums, skyscrapers, shops, theaters, and art galleries make the city a place where there's always something new to see or do. It's more than just a tourist spot, a vacation to cross off the bucket list, though. Over a million people call the densely populated city home, and this story focuses on a few of them.
Located in the neighborhood of Chelsea, 220 West 16th Street is an apartment building that attracts a diverse group of renters. It's an eight story building, offering basic amenities such as a laundry room in the basement, and a community rooftop space above the eighth floor. While many of the residents live typical, private lives, offering their neighbors a simple hello or goodbye in passing, a few of the young adult residents on the sixth floor have become more friendly with one another. This story will explore the friendships, romance, drama, and day to day interactions among them.
About:
This is a slice of life story, that focuses on young adults living in 4 apartments located on the same floor of an apartment building in NYC. I will probably come up with some basic and loosely defined "roles" just to give the story a bit of structure, and to offer a backbone plot to work off of, but for the most part, it will be a character driven story. I'm hoping to find a group of strong, literate writers to join me . I am looking for 4-5 other writers, with everyone being willing and capable of writing for 1 male and 1 female character, and being able to consistently post 2x per week. If you're interested, please let me know !
